Welcome To Mr.

Sripunyas Class
Dear Parents,

I would like to take this time to introduce myself if we have not yet met. My name is Mr. Sripunya. Also known as Mr. T
and I am your childs Algebra 1 teacher. This letter is presented to inform you of my expectations for your child and give
you a direction of where we are going in this class.

Algebra 1 is a core subject that is requires constant practice and work. Therefore, I believe that your child will need to
spend about 30 minutes of their time to homework or just reading mathematical concepts every night. Homework will
be assigned every class.

Furthermore, I would like to take time to inform you of the supplies your child will be using in this class. Calculator will
be provided by the school. They will need to have the following items listed below by 8/26/2016. If there are any
inconveniences, please let me know. Also please my classroom rules and procedures listed below.

Supplies Needed Optional Supplies (for extra credit)

1. Pencil 1. Kleenex box


2. Hand Sanitizer
3. Coper Paper
4. 3 ring 2 inch pocket binder
5. Filing Paper
Rules:

1. Be prompt and be prepared.


2. (Be on time and ready to work once you enter my classroom)
3. Respect all students and teachers and their property.
4. (This means everyone!!!)
5. Follow school policies.

Conduct

1. Enter the room quietly and in dress code.


2. Immediately take a seat at your assigned desk and refer to the board for instructions. (You may need to pick
materials up on the way to your seat).
3. Begin working on the warm-up. I expect this to be done quickly and quietly before tardy bell rings including
sharpening pencil.
4. I will begin the class when appropriate ( depending on your warm-up)
5. The bell at the end of period does NOT dismiss the class. The teacher will dismiss the class when everyone is
seated, quiet, and in dress code.
6. Do not throw anything in my classroom. This includes trash. Trash is to be walked to the trashcan at dismissal.
7. Do Not Sleep in this class. If you choose to sleep in this class, you may be required to stand for the remainder of
the class period.
8. Do not copy other students work. Do not allow your work to be copied. All who were involved in cheating will
be penalized.
9. Students are responsible for all policies outlined in the Discipline Management Plan and the Student Handbook.
10. Cell phones need to be off in class and in school.
Grades

Quizzes will be given every 2 weeks. Major exam will occur every 3 weeks. Student can keep up with their grades by
looking at the data center posted on the back wall. Progress reports will be printed for each student every 3 weeks.
These will be sent home with the student.

Make-Up Work/ Tutorials

1. Students will be allowed the number of days absent to make up the missing work. It is the students
responsibility to obtain missed work.
2. Tutorials are available every Wednesday from 2:45-4:00 pm in my classroom. Tutorials will be required for select
students. However, all students are welcome to attend.

I am really excited to start the semester and believe that everyone will be successful. Parents, please feel free to call or
