Welcome Students & Parents to our 2017-2018 School year!
Class of 2009 Barry University Bachelors Degree in
Elementary Education K-6 with my ESOL and Reading
Endorsements. I am currently one class away from
adding the Gifted Endorsement to my certification!
It has been a great journey working with AcadeMir since
2012 in both the Elementary and Middle school setting
focusing on English Language Arts.

OUR BEHAVIOR PLAN
POLICIES FOR ARRIVAL
School day begins at 8:30 am promptly
Students arriving from 8:00- 8:10 am will be dropped off
in the cafeteria.
Teachers (K-3) pick up students at 8:15 am.
Students 4 & 5 grade go straight to class at 8:00 am.
Parents will be allowed to walk students to class ONLY ON
T HE FIRST DAY of school. (except Kinder, first three
days)
POLICIES FOR DISMISSAL

Dismissal for Kinder and 1st grade is at 2:30 pm


Dismissal for 2nd-5th grade is at 3:00 pm
NO WALKERS ARE ALLOWED
FOR KINDER AND FIRST GRADE
K-3 grade are dismissed from building B
4-5 grade are dismissed from building A
SILENT DISMISSAL is the program we will use,
you will receive a code for your child.
POLICIES FOR BREAKFAST
Breakfast: $2.00 Daily
Breakfast is served from until 8:15 a.m.
Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria.
All parents must pay for breakfast on a monthly basis.
Payment for the month is made only the Wednesday
before the new month begins. Payment must be made in
cash or check.

Students will allergies sit together at lunch.
If a child forgets their lunch he/she will be provided with
lunch that day and you will be charged.
No outside fast food lunch may be delivered to students:
Ex. Subway, Burger King, McDonalds etc.
Students are not allowed to bring sodas, glass containers,
candy or gum to school.

ALL ABOUT I-READY

Our school will be implementing an online computer based


program called i-Ready.
Students will complete an i-Ready Diagnostic in the first
couple weeks of school.
Two lessons per subject (math and ELA) are MANDATORY
per week, and will receive a grade.
i-Ready Diagnostic helps teachers to effectively assess
their students and then provide individualized instruction
based on each students unique needs.

Home Learning Assignments are a very important
part of learning.

Grades Kinder through Fifth are to complete 2


lessons of i-Ready Math and 2 lessons of Reading
each week.

Homework is reviewed daily. No late work will be


accepted and will result in deducted home learning
grade and Class Dojo point.

Tardies Absences

When a student returns to school after an

ALL ABOUT VOLUNTEERING
Parents have many opportunities to volunteer their
time at school.
Volunteer sign-ups will be available throughout the
school year.
We ask each family to provide ten (10) hours of
volunteer services per school year.
Due to mandates from Miami-Dade County Public
Schools, all parents wishing to volunteer within the
school must participate in the School Volunteer
Registration Program and must be cleared through
MDCPS before permission to volunteer is granted.

Students participating in any school activities,
such as afterschool, field trips, enrichments, such
as dance, sports, etc. are required to purchase
CHUBB insurance to receive coverage for the
whole school year.
$20 per year
Coverage includes injuries, incidentals before,
during and after school sponsored activities.
