Offset-UV

Application
Automatic cleaning Rollers Must be strictly used direct without mixing with water. Otherwise, the sensors in the printing
machine may be disrupted.
Manual cleaning Rollers Use in spray bottles. Mixing with water is not recommended. Use water only when Bttcherin
Offset-UV is almost dried. Water will help remove paper and gum deposits during the
emulsification process.
Automatic cleaning Blankets Must be strictly used direct without mixing with water. Otherwise, the sensors in the printing
machine may be disrupted.

Bttcher UV Roller Maintenance Recommendations
Manual cleaning Blankets May be mixed with 10-20% water, depending on preference of the printer.
Advantage: it will remove the gum/paper on the blanket at the same time.
Disadvantage: Strength of the wash is weaker.
It may be recommended that the blankets are cleaned with water if the wash is not mixed.

BottcherPro-AR (1) Intensive cleaning of rollers

(2) Compatible with rubber grades for UV printing and dual purpose printing
Recommended to be used at the end of working day and/or week, subject to printer's preference,
Advantage: Rollers are thoroughly cleaned to prevent any leftover of ink in rollers which may dry the
following day and accumulate over time.
Item Application
Roller Apply and leave to take effect for five minutes, with printing machine running at idle
speed. Rinse with Bottcherin Offset-UV or water.
Blanket Apply and leave to take effect for several minutes. Rinse with Bottcherin Offset-UV or
water.

BttcherPro Calciumfix (1) Use to remove calcium deposits on the rollers to prevent roller stripping. I.e. Rollers lose the ability to
transport ink effectively.
(2) Calcium may be found in inks, paper stock and water (depending on water hardness, temperature
and amount of alcohol used) and would adhere to the roller surface.
Item Application
Inking Rollers Wash the inks off the rollers with Bttcherin Offset-UV. Apply BttcherPro Calciumfix on
the rollers run the machine idle at crawling speed (3,000 sph) for 3-5 minutes to allow it to
work on the rollers. After that, wash the rollers with water thoroughly.

Rol-O-Gel (1) Used when inking rollers are running without ink in the inking unit of multi-color presses.
(2) Specially produced for this application only.

Inking Rollers Apply a sufficient amount of Rol-O-Gel on the rollers with an ink knife. Only one application is
necessary to last at least per shift of 12 hours or more. To wash, use Bttcherin Offset-UV.

NOTE There is no fix and fast rule on an exact maintenance schedule as

maintenance requirements may differ from printer to printer.
Maintenance of rollers in the press is an art which requires the
experience of the printers to identify the situation of the rollers and to
ensure its optimal performance for effective transportation of ink and
water. The printer should be aware of the maintenance product that he
should use as required by the problem.
