Psalm 145:17
NAS - The Lord is righteous in all His ways And kind in all His deeds.
NIV - The LORD is righteous in all his ways and loving toward all he has made.
NLT - The LORD is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness

Hab. 1:13a

NAS - Your eyes are too pure to approve evil, And You can not look on wickedness with
favor.
NIV - Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong.
NLT - You are perfectly just in this. But will you, who cannot allow sin in any form,
stand idly by while they swallow us up?

What Sin Is

Matt 5:8
NIV - Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
NLT - God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.

Heb. 12:14
NLT - Try to live in peace with everyone, and seek to live a clean and holy life, for those
who are not holy will not see the Lord.
NAS - Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see
the Lord.
NIV - Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no
one will see the Lord

1 John 3:4
NIV - Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.
NAS - Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
NLT - Those who sin are opposed to the law of God, for all sin opposes the law of God.
1 John 5:17
NAS - All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death.
NLT - Every wrong is sin, but not all sin leads to death.
NIV - All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death.

Rom 14:23c
NAS - and whatever is not from faith is sin.
NIV - and everything that does not come from faith is sin
NLT - If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.

James 2:10
NAS - For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become
guilty of all.
NLT - And the person who keeps all of the laws except one is as guilty as the person who
has broken all of God's laws.
NIV - For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of
breaking all of it.

The Great Commandment

Matt. 22:36-39
NAS - "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And He said to him, "
YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND
WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND. This is the great and
foremost commandment. "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR
NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'”
NIV - "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: "Love
the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This
is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as
yourself.”
NLT -
"Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?"
Jesus replied, " `You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and
all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally
important: `Love your neighbor as yourself.'

All Are Sinners

Rom 3:23
NAS - for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
NLT - For all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious standard.
NIV - for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Rom 3:9
NAS - What then? Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that
both Jews and Greeks are all under sin;
NIV - What shall we conclude then? Are we any better ? Not at all! We have already
made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin.
NLT - Well then, are we Jews better than others? No, not at all, for we have already
shown that all people, whether Jews or Gentiles, are under the power of sin.

Rom 3:12
NAS All have turned aside, together they have become useless; There is none who does
good, There is not even one."
NLT - All have turned away from God; all have gone wrong. No one does good, not
even one."
NIV - All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who
does good, not even one."

Rom 3:19
NAS - Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the
Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to
God;
NIV - Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law,
so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
NLT - Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to
keep people from having excuses and to bring the entire world into judgment before God.

Jer 17:9-10
NAS - The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can
understand it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man
according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.
NLT - The human heart is most deceitful and desperately wicked. Who really knows how
bad it is? But I know! I, the LORD, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give
all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve."
NIV - The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?
"I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his
conduct, according to what his deeds deserve."

Sin’s Effects In Individual Lives

Ezek 18:4 "Behold, all souls are Mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son
is Mine. The soul who sins will die.

James 1:15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is
accomplished, it brings forth death.

John 3:20 "For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light
for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

The Unbeliever’s Sins

John 8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe

1 Tim 5:24 ¶ The sins of some men are quite evident, going before them to judgment; for
others, their sins follow after.

The Believer’s Sins

Ps 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions

Condemned

The Death of Christ is the Way of Salvation

Matt 26:27 And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying,

Matt 26:28 for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for
forgiveness of sins.

What Salvation Is

Regeneration

must be born again.’

Eternal Life

of eternal salvation,

Sonship

Keeping

Salvation Is By Faith
