MATLAMAT (GOALS):

The aim of this course is to provide working experience in the industry by applying the civil
engineering disciplines into practice in the field related to the aspect of designing, constructing,
human resources planning, engineering management, cost preparation, entrepreneurship,
consultancy and research.

HASIL PEMBELAJARAN (LEARNING OUTCOMES):

Upon completion of the course, students are able to :

1. Assemble the real practice experience obtain from various area in civil engineering practices
into the final report (P4, PLO2)
2. Synthesize the field work and transformed it into the final report (A4, PLO6)
3. Organize self work schedule base on organisation requirement (A4, PLO8)

SINOPSIS (SYNOPSIS):

Students are required to do the industrial training for the period of 10 weeks in the field of civil
engineering in the approved organizations by the university. Every student will be evaluated by
the faculty and industrial supervisor. In this program students are expected to be trained in
systematic and structured way in the disciplines of civil engineering such as designing,
constructing, human resources planning, engineering management, cost preparation,
entrepreneurship, consultancy and research. Students are also trained in the aspects of work
safety and health as well as ethics in the industry. Students shall be given the opportunity to
involve directly in the aspects of management, planning, budget preparation, important
documents preparation, supervising or maintenance of a project which depend on their
availability in industry. Students shall involve in the work place with certain constraints that
benefited them in improving their mental and physical fitness.

SYLLABUS :

Practical training are held in companies, firms and government agencies approved by the
Corporate and Industry Relation Unit (UHKI/PHI), of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia.
The type of training to be given to the students is depending absolutely on the type of business
by the industry itself.

The aspects of civil engineering discipline that expected to be stressed on are students are :

Designing
Constructing
Consultancy
Research

Industrial exposure to the students are on the following aspects :

Management works,
Planning,
Entrepreneurship and costing,
Important documents
Project supervision
Encouragement in the contribution of innovative idea

ASSESSMENT :

Assesment on students are based on several important aspects during and after the industrial
training period.

During the industrial training students are evaluated continuously by a supervisor

assigned by the industry and evaluated once by a faculty supervisor assigned by
the Dean of Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the time of
industrial visit.

After the industrial training students are evaluated from a written and bounded
final report and presentation to a panel of assessors.

used for the purpose of future improvement on the industrial training procedures.
