1. Title
Method statement for installation of toilet and bath accessories.

2. Purpose
The purpose of this method statement is to set guidelines and ensure good working
practice for the installation of toilet and accessories.
3. Scope
Installation of toilet and bath accessories in accordance with the specification, BOQ, plan
and contract documents.

4. Materials

6. Safety and Health Requirements

A. All employees/workers shall be provided with basic personal protection equipment
(PPE).
B. All workers shall be provided with proper tools and equipment to execute the work
safely.
C. Trained operators shall be engaged to operate the equipment.
D. All works shall comply with safety procedure or instruction as set in out in project
Safety Plan and Municipality rules and regulation.

WORK PROCEDURE

7. General Requirements
A. Ensure that materials, sample and method of statement have been submitted and
approved.
B. Ensure that tools and equipment are approved.
C. Any minor scratches and disfiguration caused by improper handling during delivery shall
be checked. If damaged material shall be found it will not be used.
D. Escutcheon plate shall be installed properly in a workmanlike manner. All cut holes for
pipes shall be concealed by escutcheon plate and shall be installed flushing on the wall.
E. All the works to be carried out as per the approved details, specifications,
manufacturers recommendations and according to the satisfaction of the Engineer-in-
charge.
F. Works shall commence after completion of plumbing works, room doors and completion
of tile works.
G. Fasteners: Screws, bolts and other devices of same material as accessory unit, tamper
and theft resistant when exposed and of galvanized steel when concealed.
H. Obtain necessary clearances and approvals from engineers prior the start of installation.
I. Provide final protection and maintain conditions, in a manner acceptable to Engineer,
that ensure toilet and bath accessories are without damage or deterioration at the time
of Substantial Completion.
J. Inspection request shall be submitted to the assigned engineer/inspector prior to the
commencement of works and upon work completion.

8. Toilet and Bath Accessory Schedule

A. Toilet Tissue Dispenser

Provide toilet tissue dispenser complying with the following:
- Type single roll dispenser
- Mounting: Surface mounted with concealed anchorage.
- Material: Stainless steel
- Capacity: Designed for standard diameter-core tissue rolls up to 140mm
diameter (800 sheets)

B. Soap Dish
Provide soap dish complying the following:
- Mounting: Recessed with clamp of lugs appropriate for securing to wall
construction indicated or surface mounted with rectangular wall bracket and
back plate for concealed mounting.

C. Grab Bar
Provide stainless steel grab bar complying with following:
- Stainless steel nominal thickness: Minimum of 1.3mm.
- Mounting: Concealed with manufacturers standard flanges and anchors.
- Gripping surface: Smooth and satin finish
- Outside diameter: 38mm for heavy duty application.

D. Single Robe Hook: Heavy duty satin finished stainless steel single robe hook,
concealed mounting flange shall be stainless steel plate with two holes for attachment
to wall.

E. Waste Receptacle: Waste receptacle shall be 0.8 mm stainless steel, exposed

surface shall have stain finish, waste receptacle shall be equipped with vinyl bumper
strip and rubber feet, capacity shall 49.2 L.

F. Towel Holder
Provide towel holder complying with the following:
- Towel bar: 610mm long, stainless steel, 19mm square tube with rectangular
end brackets and galvanized steel back plates for concealed mounting.
- Three-guest toilet towel rack: Surface-mounted with polished chrome finish
and designed to hold three sets of bath towels, hand towels, and wash
clothes with approximately 6mm diameter wire rings welded to upright wire
bracket.

9. Installation
Install accessories according to manufacturers written instructions, using
fasteners appropriate to substrate indicated and recommended by unit
manufacturer. Install the units level, plumb and firmly anchored in locations and
at heights indicated in the approved plan and specification.

10. Quality Assurance

Source limitations: Provide products of same manufacturer for each type of
accessory unit and for units exposed to view in same areas, unless otherwise
approved by architect.

11. Adjusting and Cleaning

A. Adjust accessories for free, smooth operation and verify that mechanisms function
properly. Replace damage or defective items.
B. Remove temporary labels and protective coatings.
C. Clean and polish exposed surfaces according to manufacturers written
recommendations.
