Police are investigating several thefts of alcohol from a
supermarket in Ballan over the past month.
The thefts occurred at the Inglis Street supermarket on 27
and 29 July with the last incident taking place on Wednesday
16 August.
Police have been told a man entered the store on two
occasions and selected several bottles of premium red wine,
which he put down the front of his trousers, before leaving
the store.

Love may be in the air but friendship and fun
will join it at an upcoming fundraiser.
Love is in the Air is an annual fundraiser dinner
for the Ballan Hospital, and an important one at
that, but it has also proven to be a fabulous social
event, and a great opportunity to meet new people.
People might like to come along and meet new
people, and support the hospital at the same time,
said long-time organiser Anne Eskdale.
This is our sixth year, and weve raised more
than $120,000 over the five years for the hospital.
The event is again enjoying the love of The Plough
Myrniong owners Mark and Ruth Mills always
generous when it comes to fundraisers, Love is in
the Air will be held at the renowned foodie haven
marquee.
We will have entertainment, raffles, auctions and
prizes on the night with all the profits generated to
help in the refurbishment of the Memory Support
Unit (Dementia Unit), Ms Eskdale said.
On top of enjoying a meal prepared by noted chef
Mark Mills, the event provides the opportunity for
people new to Ballan and the surrounding area to
meet new people.
Its a chance to meet and mingle, and were put-
ting everyone on big long tables so you dont have
to book a whole table, you can book for one or two.
And I do the organising, so I can put people in a
spot on the table to meet new people, so if youre a
bit nervous, youll have someone to meet and make
you welcome.
It will be held on Friday 1 September at The
