 Installation of Exchange Server 2013

CAS server details

Two Exchange Client Access Servers (CAS) are installed for client front end services and below are the
details.

Computer name FQDNs:

1- TB-CAS-01.telenorbank.pk and IP address is 10.5.4.44

2- TB-CAS-02.telenorbank.pk and IP address is 10.5.4.45

Operating System: Windows server 2012 R2 with full windows updates.

Domain joined: Yes

1. CAS role installation procedure

Same installation steps are documented below for both the CAS roles and we have performed the below
steps on both the Exchange CAS servers.

1.1. Pre-requisites installation on CAS Servers

Download and Install Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5

Download and Install Windows Management Framework 3.0

(Link: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=272757 )

1.1.1. Power Shell Command to enable windows roles and feature

Run following command on Exchange CAS.

a. Import-Module ServerManager
b. Install-WindowsFeature RSAT-ADDS

 c. Run the following command

Install-WindowsFeature AS-HTTP-Activation, Desktop-Experience, NET-Framework-45-Features, RPC-

over-HTTP-proxy, RSAT-Clustering, Web-Mgmt-Console, WAS-Process-Model, Web-Asp-Net45, Web-
Basic-Auth, Web-Client-Auth, Web-Digest-Auth, Web-Dir-Browsing, Web-Dyn-Compression, Web-
Http-Errors, Web-Http-Logging, Web-Http-Redirect, Web-Http-Tracing, Web-ISAPI-Ext, Web-ISAPI-
Filter, Web-Lgcy-Mgmt-Console, Web-Metabase, Web-Mgmt-Console, Web-Mgmt-Service, Web-Net-
Ext45, Web-Request-Monitor, Web-Server,Web-Stat-Compression, Web-Static-Content, Web-
Windows-Auth, Web-WMI, Windows-Identity-Foundation

d. After installing the required server roles and features,

Download and Install the Microsoft Unified Communications Managed API 4.0, Core Runtime 64-
bit software.

 Download and Install the Microsoft Office 2010 Filter Pack 64 bit software .

Download and Install the Microsoft Office 2010 Filter Pack SP1 64 bit.

You will be asked for installing Media foundation feature during installing and then go to Add Role and
Features Wizard in Server Manager, Features then select Media Foundation and install.

1.2. Preparing Active directory, Schema and Forest

Extract the Exchange Installation files on Domain Controller or on the same Exchange server. In our case
we extracted to D:\Setup
a. setup.exe /PrepareSchema /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

b. Prepare AD as mentioned in Figure below.

 c. setup.exe /PrepareAllDomains /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
