Chukwuma Osakwe (2013) in his paper is an attempt to describe and analyze the component

parts for a better appreciation of youth unemployment on national security issues and
challenges. The paper goes on to confirm and put in historical perspective that the youth bulge
and unemployment are catalysts to national security issues and challenges. While not
diminishing their importance, the paper posits that some of the data used in analysing
unemployment need to be re-evaluated, placed in context and a new perspective proffered on
the role and importance of youth unemployment in the broad area of national security.
David UMORU (2013) The study attempts to rationalize the impact of international trade
flows on employment generation in Nigeria within the framework of the vector error correction
model. The study found that the volume of international trade has no significant positive impact
on employment generation in Nigeria. Indeed, the recent empirical evidence is that of a
significant negative employment effect of total trade volume in Nigeria. This could be as a
result of the SAP-induced trade liberalization forced on the country by the IMF and World
Bank as a pre-condition for loan procurement and possible debt cancellation.
A.Muhammed (2013) The level of national development in any given country is largely
dependent on the extent to which the enormous potentials of its youth are harnessed and utilized
by the government to promote and sustain economic growth and social progress. In Nigeria,
widespread unemployment has constrained the efforts of the youth to contribute meaningfully
to national development. Using descriptive analysis drawn majorly from secondary data, the
paper established that widespread unemployment and poverty in Nigeria has not only induced
youth disempowerment, but also created conditions that predisposes the youth to deviant
behaviours which hinder economic growth, political stability, harmonious social cohesion, and
overall national development.
J.Paul Mansingh (2016) Unemployed young people are more likely to abuse illicit substances
than employed young people. Youth unemployment also contributes for the prevalence of
crime and violence in societies where employment opportunities are limited.. Unemployment
is a distressing life occasion that makes individuals despondent. Youth unemployment likewise
encourages the improvement of young people. Unemployment has driven many young women
and girls into sex work in Africa. Like other towns of the country, Ambo town also displays
and witnesses the problem of unemployment. The after effects of youth unemployment in this
area till now was not well understood. In this stand, this study was conducted to examine the
outcomes of Youth Unemployment in the study area.
