INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION FEE SCHOLARSHIP

Eligibility:
1. Students must be enrolled at least parttime at TAMIU at time of application
2. Undergraduate students must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5 or higher, graduate students must have a cumulative
Grade Point Average of 3.2 or higher
3. Students must have been approved for participation in a TAMIU Study Abroad Program

Availability
The IEFS covers study abroad for shortterm (less than 12 weeks), semester, and year-long study abroad. Awards are fully competitive
and based on student qualifications, fund availability, and number of qualified applicants. Award amounts range from: $500 to $750
for a shortterm program, $700 to $2,000 for a semester program, and $1,500 to $2,500 for a year-long program.

Selecting Award Recipients and Award Requirements


The IEFS recipients will be selected on the basis of merit, need, classification, program selection, duration and cost. All students the
eligibility criteria are strongly encouraged to submit the IEFS application.

Award Requirements
IEFS recipients must complete 10 Study Abroad service hours during or after their study abroad program. These 10 hours consist of
varying activities assigned by OSA. Failure to complete the service hours will result in registration holds being placed.

Application and Deadline


All applications can be submitted upon acceptance/approval to the study abroad program. The application package should consist of a
completed IEFS Application, Study Abroad Budget, and Resume. Applicants will receive an award notification email during the
award notification period, and must comply with the instructions specified in the award letter. Award must be accepted by the given
date before 5:00 pm. Rejected or unaccepted funds will go to alternate students. Information about the scholarships will not be
provided over the phone.

understand that intentionally falsified information will lead to my disqualification from consideration of the
scholarship. I will be required to repay any scholarship money awarded, should falsified information come to light
