These five values will guide student and teacher behavior in the classroom:

HONESTY INTEGRITY COURTESY COMPASSION COURAGE

Student Assessment:
Periodic student assessment is essential for student/teacher feedback and progress. The following measurements will be used,
subject to modification at the instructors discretion:

QUARTER GRADES: SEMESTER GRADES:

A. Homework: 20% A. Quarter One Average: 40%

Homework is assigned and checked daily, graded
on completeness. I give credit only to students B. Quarter Two Average: 40%
who complete their work on time or have official
absences. C. Semester Final Exam: 20%

B. Quizzes and Special Assignments: 30%

Quizzes are given every week. Students will also
complete a variety of other assignments. If you are absent from class, come see me the
day you return to school to get make-up
C. Chapter Tests: 50% work. Do not wait until the next class period --
Chapter tests focus on one chapter, but will you may not receive credit.
include concepts from previous chapters

All tests will be IB-style tests, using calculators and formula booklets. Because of this increased difficulty, most test grades will
be earned according to this modified IB scale:

89% or above IB 7 A/95 52% 63.99% IB 4 C/75 22% 35.99% IB 2 F/50

80% 88.99% IB 6 A/90 36% 51.99% IB 3 D/65 Below 22% IB 1 F/40
64% 79.99% IB 5 B/85

I have reviewed this syllabus with my child. We agree to the expectations of this course.
