DISCUSS ABOUT THE RESULT AND EXPLAIN ITS IMPLICATIONS.

CITE STUDIES OR THEORIES TO

SUPPORT THE FINDINGS. WHAT WOULD BE YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS AFTER THE FINDINGS,
EXPLAIN.

Conclusion

MAIN FINDINGS
1. It was found that there is a significant positive relationship between student habits and year
level among students, which shows that year level directly influences the study habits students.
The students having higher year level show regular study habits.
2. Higher level compared to lower year level are having better overall study habits
3. There is a positive and significant correlation between study habits and year level
4. As the school level goes higher the students get motivated thus their study habit becomes
regular because it was rewarded or they are getting nearer to their goals

DISCUSSION OF THE RESULTS

The data was about students with respect to their level in relation to their study habits. In the
present, study habits was found a positive and significant correlation between maturity of
students in terms of studying and their year level. This shows that as the number of year level
increase, the study habits of study becomes regular. It means that the students who have regular
studies or responsible to their studying have more exposure or experience in school and have
knowledge in different type of studying, maybe some students already corrected their mistakes
in studying as they go higher. The finding of the present study is in consonance with the finding
of Hotamam that there are various factors that affect the students academic achievement.
Amongst these factors are some activities called study habits which the students gained,
preferred and like to do for learning at and out of school. Findings of the study of Oluwatimilehin
andOwoyele (2012) revealed that of all the study habits subscales, teacher consultation was
most influential while the time allocation exercise, concentration, no taking reading and
assignments were regarded as less integral to students academic performances. Therefore,
regular counseling services to train students on study skills strategies were advocated in order to
boost their studyhabit and enhance their academic achievement.

As their year goes higher the students will like become motivated to reach their goals and thus
to achieved this their study habits improved. This study was based on Martin Fords Motivational
Systems Theory (MST). This framework focuses on the individual as the unit of analysis, but
embeds the individual in the biological, social, and environmental contexts that are crucial to
development.

Collectively, literature suggest that effective studying requires not only that the students possess
knowledge of appropriate studying techniques and practices (study skills), but also sustained and
deliberate effort (study motivation), self-regulation, ability to concentrate and a sense of
responsibility for and value in ones own learning. Hurlburt, Koeker and Gade proposed that
personal relationships and relevancy of subject matter, rather than concern for specific study
habits, maybe key factors in addressing low academic achievements.
