portfolio of their writing this will be the final exam grade.

Course Activities:

While the quantity and quality of what we cover will partially depend upon your own

comfort zones, we will aim to adhere to this basic schedule of topics:

Journal Each day, you will begin class by writing based on the prompt you will find listed
for you on the board. These prompts are designed to simply get your brain to click over
into creative mode and to get you ready for productive, useful work. This may be done
in a composition notebook or online.
Peer Response Once we establish our class community and routine, we will have days
where we may begin with someone sharing a piece or part of a piece they are working
on and for which they desire feedback. These sessions will be more quick, informal
readings aimed at giving constructive criticism while building a writers confidence.

Writing assignments this class will cover a wide range of writing styles, genres and
topics. Students will complete writing pieces that will demonstrate their creativity and
writing style.

Portfolio all writing work from this class will need to be saved. Specific instructions will be
given on which pieces of writing should be included in the final portfolio. This will count
as the final exam.

Grading Policy

Each completed assignment will earn a specific number of points. Journals will earn a
