To whom it may concern,

I am a final year student at The United States International University and I am interested in the internship
position with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. I would like to dedicate my
diplomatic career to promoting the cration of foreign policies and mediation for Kenya with other
countries. I admire the work of the Ministry and would like to assist in its mission of projecting,
promoting and protecting Kenyas interests and image globally through innovative diplomacy, and
contribute towards a just, peaceful and equitable world.

My research and writing skills coupled with my International Relations background will make me an
effective intern in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. My final year project on the
Effectiveness of Structural Adjustment Programmes in Sub Saharan Africa has reinforced the urgent need
for regulation and policy change due to the collapse of most economic structures in Sub Saharan African
Countries. Through this research I have also become familiar with the Foreign Policies Kenya has put in
place towards foreign aid and bilateral relationship with the respective donor countries. I have also been
exposed to the diplomatic world by participating in the annual AfroMUn Conference that concluded
recently that was held at the United Nations.

I also have experience working as a team member and a strong work ethic as evidenced by my work as a
store manager of Blue Hut Hotel. While managing a team of ten employees, I was able to set a sales
record for the store. I look forward to bringing the same enthusiasm to the team at the Ministry of Foreign

I look forward to discussing internship opportunities with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and
International Trade.

Yours Faithfully

Samuel Wainaina.
