VI. MODULE POLICIES AND REQUIREMENTS

ATTENDANCE

The module will be delivered over one semester. There will be weekly afternoon sessions on Fridays at 1230pm
430pm (except during First Fridays).

University rules on attendance and absences will be strictly followed.

COURSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

HIMA is using Blackboard for its online course management system. Reading materials and lecture slides will be
made available in the courses (1 for the course, and 1 per teacher) Blackboard site. This site will also be used
for submission of assignments/seatwork.

CASE STUDY

For the case studies and the final projects, you will be divided into groups. There must be 5 groups per class.
Each group is expected to submit a case analysis in the form of an infographic. Each week, at least one group will
be assigned present their analysis. Furthermore, they are expected to conduct a short learning exercise for the
class, related to the case. The presenting group should submit a soft copy of the presentation file used.

The Case Analysis should include the following:

1. Information System (IS) featured in the case (e.g. EHR? CDSS?)
2. Main functions of the IS
3. Key hardware and software components, network components (if any)
4. Key inputs and key outputs of the system
5. Mechanism for managing stored data
6. Stakeholders of the IS (users, sponsors, developers/suppliers)
7. Reason for choosing, using the system

FINAL PROJECT

To be discussed on Session 1.
