Instructions
1. There are two parts (A and B) in this paper. You should attempt Part A and any ONE question
in Part B.
2. You are reminded of the importance of clear handwriting and the need for planning and
proofreading.
3. Do not use your real name in answering any of the questions. If names are provided in the
question, you must use those names. If no name is provided and you still wish to use a name to
identify yourself, then use Chris Wong. If you need to use names for other characters in the
writing not specified by the question, you may use names such as Mary, Peter, Wai Yee, Mr
Smith, Ms Young etc. You will lose marks if you do not follow these instructions.
4. You are required to include sentences with both (1) defining / non-defining relative clauses
AND (2) reduced relative clauses in both Parts A and B, and underline the patterns. Marks
will be deducted if you do not.
1. You have been asked to write an article about the important people in your life for the school
magazine. Write about two people who have influenced your life and use their names as the

about violence between sports fans and suggest ways to prevent such violence.
You read an article in a local newspaper about how obesity has become a major social issue in
recent years. Write a letter to the editor to share your personal experiences and views on the
matter.
Your favourite comic series was recently made into a live-action film. You recently watched the
film and want to write an online review on a comic fansite you often visit. Write your review,
describing the films plot, what you liked and didnt like about it, any differences between the
comic and the film, and which you prefer.
