Novotel Visakhapatnam is a 225 room Hotel, and it is an ideal choice for business and leisure
travellers in Visakhapatnam. The hotel is contemporary and elegant in design and destined to
become the symbolic gateway to the developing city of Vizag. The Novotel Visakhapatnam is
only hotel in India with panoramic view of the sea through every room and Food & Beverage
outlets.

My Responsibilities in Novotel:

Joined with Novotel during pre-opening stage, on 22nd July 2011 as a HR Manager and actively
involved in transforming the HR & General Admn activities from Projects stage to Operations.
Handling HR function of the International Five Star Hotel which comprise 490 manpower (both on
rolls & contractual)
Instrumental in setting up the Department, pre-opening Recruitment, procuring all relevant
Licenses, framing general Guidelines for Administration, Policies and Procedures, Standard
Operating Procedures, Employee Engagement Activities.

Responsible for framing, implementing, administering and monitoring all HR policies, procedures
and programs, including: Design, integration and delivery of HR services through best practices
related to talent acquisition, development and retention.

Executes and follows-up on engagement survey related activities.

Leads and participates in succession management and workforce planning


Ensuring the following activities are managed and facilitated Safety & Security function of the
Organization, Facility Coordination, Travel Coordination, General Office Administration etc.

Responsible for employee orientation, benefits administration, training and development,


performance appraisal and management, and employee welfare.

Creates and implement s total compensation management packages/offers, particularly recognition


and incentive programs directed towards property priorities.

Responsible for preparing HR Audit, HRMIS, HR Budget.

Responsible for effective implementation of Employee Engagement Activities.

Initiates and leads CSR activities

Attends meetings with Top Management as a member of the property executive committee and
provides meaning or context to the Human Resources results (e.g., retention statistics, critical open
positions, employee satisfaction, and training initiatives and results); and demonstrates an
understanding of Top Management priorities.

Contributions so far @ Novotel

Liaison with Statutory bodies and Successfully procured all relevant Licenses required to run
the Establishment Establishment registration, PF & ESI Registrations, License for
engaging Contract Labor, Fire NOC, Trade License, Food License under FSSAI, Municipal
License, Air & Water consents under A.P Pollution Control Board.
Successfully established the HR and Training & Development.

Drafted HR Policies and Procedures for the Business Unit

Initiated Social Services Team and Disaster Management Team to support Corporate Social
Responsibility activities.
Designed and successfully launched Employee Recognition programs (GEMS Going Extra
Miles, Idea Champ and instant recognition scheme Well Done Buddy).
Initiated Employee Referral Program and given brand name as - PARICHAY
Fun at Work Birthday Bashes, Fun Friday, Sports and Games, Employee CelebrationWeek
CSR Activities and brand building initiatives identified and adopted an NGO which
supports HIV infected children. Organized Eye Camps and Medical Camps in villages.

OD Interventions
Successfully handled Employee Opinion Survey (EOS) with AON Hewitt and Great Place to
Work Study (GPTW) and scored highest in India 96% across the Group
Successfully implemented Person Job Match online Tests and Sales Assessment Tests in
Selection Process.
Successfully rolled out New Generation Leader (NGL) program A Management Trainee
program initiated by AccorIndia Hotels
Successfully rolled out Talent Engagement programs AELP, IELP, IHMP programs
(programs targeted for Associate, Managers and Ex-comm positions)

Dolphin Hotels Limited (Ramoji Film City)

Has been associated with Dolphin Hotels Limited (Ramoji Film City) Hospitality Division as Deputy
Manager HR, from November 2006 to July 2011. Handled entire gamut of HR activities right from the
Policy Design and Effective Implementation, Monitoring Employee Engagement Activities, IR issues and
also General Administration Security, ISO 22000 Certification, HACCP implementation.

Following were my key responsibilities

Study and plan the Manpower Need, by aligning the Business Goals and available Manpower.
Responsible for full cycle of recruitment- Posting Jobs in Job Portals like - Naukri, Monester,
initial screening, scheduling, interviewing and Selection of the candidates.
Very Effective in Head Hunting, Building Strong Relationship with Manpower Consulting Firms,
and with the HR Professionals Associations.
Responsible for ISO 22000 and HACCP documentation, liaison with Lead Auditors and ensure
that, Hygine standards are maintained as per the ISO 22000 standards.
Administering the Performance Appraisals and timely completion of mid year and annual
performance reviews.
Responsible for HR Audit, Preparation of HR Budget and submitting the same to Management.
Responsible for grievance redresses, disciplinary actions include framing charge sheets, warning
letters, holding preliminary and domestic enquiries.
Attending joint meetings before Labour Department
Worked as Unit HR Officer from February 2002 to October 2006 with Ushodaya Publications

Joined as a Jr. HR Officer at Corporate Office and later posted as Unit HR Officer at Anantapur Unit.
After working for one year at Ananthapur, later got transferred to Nizamabad Unit during greenfields
stage for Statutory Licenses procurement and set-up the HR Department.

Maintained strong Liaison with Statutory bodies Factories department, Labour Department, Fire
Department, PF & ESI Department, Gram Panchayat, Pollution Control Board, Civil Supplies
Department etc.
