Theodor "Theo" Waigel (born 22 April 1939) is a German politician of the Christian Social Union in
Bavaria (CSU). Waigel is a lawyer, and earned a doctorate in 1967. He was a member of the
Bundestag from 1972 to 2002. He served as Federal Minister of Finance of Germany in the Cabinet of
Chancellor Helmut Kohl from 1989 to 1998, and as Chairman of the Christian Social Union in Bavaria
from 1989 to 1999. He is known as the father of the Euro, the European currency. He played a vital
role in its introduction as German Minister of Finance. He also managed to impose an austerity
program on West Germans and overcome the massive deficits of German unification to meet the strict
fiscal benchmarks mandated by Europe's single currency. In 2009, he was appointed Honorary
Chairman of the CSU.

Henri Malosse (born 6 October 1954 in Montpellier, France) is a French representative of the
business world and the 30th President of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC)
(April 2013 - October 2015).
Martin R. Stuchtey is founder and managing partner of SystemiQ Ltd, a specialist for large-scale
environmental programs. Previously, he worked at McKinsey in various leadership positions, most
recently as Director of the Center for Business & Environment. He is a strategic advisor to the World
Economic Forum and a professor for resource strategies at the University of Innsbruck, Austria.
Jacques Santer (born 18 May 1937) is a Luxembourg politician who served as the 9th President of
the European Commission from 1995 to 1999. He served as Finance Minister of Luxembourg from
1979 until 1989, and the 22nd Prime Minister of Luxembourg from 1984 to 1995, as a member of the
Christian Social People's Party, which has been the leading party in the Luxembourg government since
1979. As Prime Minister of Luxembourg he also led the negotiations on the Single European Act,
which effectively set aside the 20-year-old Luxembourg Compromise.

Pawe Bogdan Adamowicz (born 2 November 1965, in Gdask) is the mayor of the city of Gdask,
Poland, and a Civic Platform party politician. He studied law at the University of Gdask, where he
also became a prominent student movement member. He was one of the organizers of the 1988 strike
and became the headperson of the strike committee. Between 1990 and 1993 served as a vice-rector at
his alma mater. In 1990 Adamowicz was elected a member of the City Council in Gdask and held
this post until 1998, when he was elected the Mayor of Gdask.
