Course Description:
Throughout the year we will dive into
learning and exploring every aspect of
the Spanish language, including
Grammar
Vocabulary
Pronunciation
Cultural Awareness
Students will develop skills in each of
these areas through listening, speaking,
reading and writing exercises.
LISTENING: Throughout the school year
students will take part in listening activities
that will develop their ability to orally
comprehend the Spanish language. Not only
1 will they hear Spanish through audio and
video, they will also be surrounded by
faculty, including myself, speaking Spanish
as much as possible!
SPEAKING: Every week we will be
completing in-class speaking activities that
2 will challenge students to step out of their
comfort zone and apply the concepts weve
been learning in class.
READING: For in-class activities and
homework, students will be required to read
3 authentic Spanish texts and complete related
assignments.
WRITING: One of the most essential
concepts we will be working on is writing
4 complete and accurate sentences in Spanish,
taking spelling and punctuation into
account! Get ready!

Learning a new language takes strong critical thinking skills. Everything we do this year will
challenge us to think critically about what weve learned and apply it to new ideas!
