DESCRIPTION
This programme introduces learners to the principles of sound, perception, audio technology and systems. It is
ideal for anyone concerned with audio, sound and recording who would like a really good grounding in theory and
industry practice. Latest digital recording technology formats and computer based interfaces are covered. Stereo
and surround sound principles are described in detail.

DURATION
The programme duration is 60 hours and tuition is face-to-face. Each Damelin campus has a different tuition
schedule. Programmes are offered during the week, in the evenings, or on Saturdays.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The Damelin Short Programme in Sound Engineering Practice
A learner must have a keen interest in audio, video and production
Basic computer skills
Some audio recording knowledge
Understanding of recording techniques, processes and equipment
Grade 11

LEARNER MATERIAL
All books are included in the tuition fee.

PRICING
Enquire at your nearest Damelin Campus for a current programme pricelist.

ADDITIONAL COSTS
Learners may be expected to pay for additional programme costs such as consumable items (e.g. CDs).

CERTIFICATION
Upon successful completion, the learner will be awarded the Damelin Short Programme Certificate in Sound
Recording Practice.
