Weld Mark Merge

1. Purpose and description

Use this tool to merge drawing welds with the same properties.

2. System requirements
Tekla Structures version: 17.0
.NET Framework version: 4.0
Environments: Default
Languages: English

3. Installation
1. Download the Weld Mark Merge installation package from the Tekla Extranet.
2. Run the installation package

4. Usage
To use the application:
1. Go to Tools > Macros... to open the Macros dialog box.
2. Select Weld Mark Merge and click Run.
3. The Weld Mark Merge dialog window will open and make desired modifications (if
needed).

 4. Open a drawing.

5. Click Merge to make the modifications.

6. After the tool finishes, the following message will appear: Weld merging
complete!

5. Application properties

5.1. Settings

Field Description Default

Define how to merge the welds.

The options are:
Same parts will look at the parts IDs are the same and
merge the welds;
Merge
Distance - will merge all the welds which are in the Same
Welds
parts
Options given distance and has the same properties;
Same parts marks will look at the part marks (as
Same parts) but also apply the search distance in
order to avoid merging welds on parts which are too
far away.
Define the search distance for welds.
Distance This field isnt active if you select Same parts in the Merge 0
Welds Option list.
Shows a message in the status bar.
When the tool is not running the message displayed is
the same as the option selected in the Merge Welds
Message Option list.
text When the tool is running the following message will
appear: Merging welds...
After the tool finishes the following message will
appear to inform the user: Weld merging complete!
Used to run the tool - merges welds with the same properties
Merge in an open TS drawing.
When running the tool, the button it will become disabled.
Close Used to close the application.
