I tried to register online but it said that there was already an account with my information.
Were so sorry for the difficulty youve had with our online system, but we are happy to
register you manually. Well look up your students name to see if theres already any
information in our database. What date and time would you like to visit?
[Hobsons -> Events & Trips -> Starts on -> Date Range (date they want in both
fields) -> Search Daily Campus Tour (choose proper date/time) -> Hosting Tools->
Register -> Search for their first and last name.]

If they appear: Confirm their information and fill in any missing fields. Click Register
and let them know to expect a confirmation email soon.

If they do not: Go back to Register New Contact and fill in each field. Click Register
and let them know to expect a confirmation email soon.

there is not, advise them to look at another day and/or sign them up for the
waitlist.

Im supposed to tour today but its raining. What do I do?

Bring an umbrella! Unless conditions are dangerous, we conduct tours rain or shine.

I want to register for a tour, but I dont see one on the day Id like to visit.
If its more than a week in advance, the tour has closed because it is full. Our shuttles
have a limited capacity, and allow us to keep our tours small enough that each guest
can easily ask questions and hear their student guide. We do have a tour available
on [next available date and time] that we can register you for!
If the tour is within the week, it has already been closed. Lets see if there is room to
get you registered!
[Check Hobsons to see if there is room for other guests. Register them if
there is, and if there is not, advise them to look at another day.]
If youd like to visit next semester/in the distant future, we make tours available no
more than three months in advance to accommodate the schedules of our student
guides. Check back soon for more, and in the meantime, visit
www.lsu.edu/admissions, roll over Connect, and click Mailing List to sign up to
receive awesome LSU updates!

I want to visit on a Saturday! How do I do that?

We only offer tours Monday through Friday.
[Recommend a Friday/Monday near the date they wish to visit.
If that wont work, offer to email them a self-guided tour packet, available on the
shared drive under Tours.]

Where do we park when we get to campus?

There is metered parking at the Union Square Parking Garage. It is just a short walk from
there to the Geaux Center in the Student Union, where your tour will begin. If you are
using a GPS navigation system, enter the intersection of East Campus Drive and Raphael
Semmes Road as your destination, or use the GPS coordinates 30.413039, -91.174646.

Group Tours
How do I book a group tour?
Visit www.LSU.edu/experience. Select Visitor Experience, then Schedule a Tour.
Click Group Tours and fill out the form.

Once I submit my form online, are we registered?

No. You will receive a confirmation once we have assured your spot on our calendar.

How long is a group tour?

You can customize your tour length! We have a walking tour, and we can offer a bus
tour if you provide your own transportation. A walking tour usually takes about an hour,
and we can include a 30-minute information session beforehand.

Are there any unavailable dates?

We offer group tours Monday through Thursday, excluding university event days and
holidays.

Where can we eat on campus? Can we bring our own lunches?

Lunch is not provided by LSU, but there are numerous locations where your group can
enjoy a meal on campus. We encourage groups to contact LSU Dining at (225) 578-6642
to make arrangements. See their website for more info: www.dineoncampus.com/lsu/.
[Offer to transfer them after answering tour Qs: Trnsfr -> 8 -> 6642 -> Trnsfr]
If you wanted to brown bag your lunch, you can, but you are not allowed to bring outside
food into a university building. Your group will have to eat outdoors on the Parade
Ground or in the Greek Amphitheatre, or on the bus if it rains.

Will we get to tour a residential hall?

We do not include a Campus Housing stop in our tour, but you are welcome to contact
Danielle Dreeszen with Residential Life to set up a visit while youre here. Shoot her an
email at danielled@lsu.edu, or call (225) 578-0565.
[Offer to transfer them after answering tour Qs: Trnsfr -> 8 -> 0565 -> Trnsfr]

April 2017
What do we do if were going to be late?
Thank you for letting us know youre running behind! We handle this on a case-by-case
basis depending on what tours are happening for the day and the class schedules of our
student tour guides. We usually can accommodate moderate tardiness, but worst case
scenario, we could give you a self-guided tour packet upon your arrival.

Where do we park when we get to campus?

As stated in your confirmation email, after unloading the tour guests, the buses should
proceed through the loop in front of the Union. From there, they will turn right on
Highland Road, then turn right onto Nicholson Drive Extension. Next, turn right onto
Nicholson Drive and turn left onto Skip Bertman Drive. Immediately after crossing the
railroad tracks, park all buses in the Remote Shuttle Lot located on the right.

Kickoff

What exactly is Kickoff LSU?

Kickoff is an on-campus open house for prospective high school seniors/juniors and
their parents. Students have the opportunity to attend senior college sessions,
campus/residential life tours, and presentations from specific departments like
Admissions and Financial Aid, Honors College, academic services, and more.

I think I registered for Kickoff but Im not sure.

We can check on that for you!
[Hobsons -> Events & Trips -> Starts on -> Date Range (date they want in
both fields) -> Search -> Whatever Kickoff They Asked About -> Hosting Tools and
find their name OR Hobsons -> Contacts Search/New -> look for their name]

If registered: Weve got you covered! Well see you at the Union at __oclock
that day.

If not: See if they are registered under another name or family members name.
If not, see if there is room for another guest. Register them if there is, and if
there is not, advise them to look at another day and/or sign them up for the
waitlist.

If a student would like to sign up for a Mechanical Engineering session and a

Chemical Engineering session, for example, please explain that because these
majors are both within the same senior college, they can pick another senior
college to see. If they have no other academic interest, you can register them for
an Optional (Pick & Choose) session or the Undecided session.

What does it cost to attend the event?

The event is free, but you must register to attend.

Can I bring friends with me as my guests for the program?

To ensure that all students receive necessary materials, we ask that all prospective
students register separately.

April 2017
I MUST register for Kickoff on a specific date but it seems to be full. Help me!
We are happy to put you on the wait list, and you will be contacted if room opens up for
you to attend. You are also welcome to discuss your special circumstances with Kickoff
Coordinator Elaine Duke. Her email is evidri3@lsu.edu and her number is 225-578-1642,
or we can transfer you to her now. [Trnsfr -> 8 -> 1642 -> Trnsfr]

Where do we park when we get to campus?

Parking for all Kickoff LSU guests is free in the Union Square Garage. When you arrive at
the garage simply tell the parking officer at the entrance that you are here for Kickoff
LSU and they will issue you a parking pass for the duration of the event. If youre using a
GPS navigation system, enter the intersection of East Campus Drive and Raphael
Semmes Road as your destination.

Tell me about the agenda/school excuses/lunch/accommodations/etc.

Let me check the Kickoff LSU FAQ page to see if I can find out more about that!

If the answer is there: Reiterate the answer and remind them that as the event
approaches, they can visit www.lsu.edu/kickofflsu to double check event details.

If the answer is not there: Let me connect you with Kickoff Coordinator Elaine Duke
and she can help you out. [Trnsfr -> 8 -> 1642 -> Trnsfr]

Id be happy to send you some information regarding LSU. What are you interested in?
Take down all information (Name, Mailing Address, reason for request, what is
requested) and email request to communication@lsu.edu.
FYI: We have separate packets for pre-K 7th grade groups & high school
groups. If it is a prospective student, we can send them booklets of
information about the senior college/major they are interested in as well
as a view book/road brochure. If someone came on a campus tour and lost
their bag, we will ship them what comes in a Tour Bag.

What is Academic Showcase?

It is an invitation-only event for seniors who have already been admitted into LSU.
Students and two guests have the opportunity to meet with one prospective degree
