PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL

FIRST DAY

Priest: Filled with the joy of this celebration, we bring before God our prayers for our
community, for the Church, and for the world. Let us pray to the Lord by saying:
Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: For the Church throughout the world, especially Saint Joseph Chapel community,
let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: For the nation and the Cabatangan community, and for all who serve in our
government, let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: For the poor, the homeless and the unemployed, and for those who suffer under
persecution, let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: For the dead, for the sick, and for all those unable to join us tonight, let us pray to
the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Priest: God, our Creator, guardian of homes and source of all blessings, you delight in
the happiness of your people. Hear the prayer this Church offers for all Your
people and for the entire world. Fulfill our needs and guide our actions towards
the building up of Your kingdom. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

April 24, 2017
Priest: Jesus word reminds us of the gift of baptism through which we are reborn in
Gods love. We call on the Lord: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: May all who were baptized into Christ at Easter around the world rejoice in the
gift of faith; let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: May the Spirit move throughout our world, touching the hearts of all, so that they
can seek truth with sincerity, let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: May Christians facing persecution of their faith stay loyal to Jesus and receive the
gifts of the Holy Spirit in their time of great need, let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: May the faithful departed enjoy the peace of Gods Kingdom, let us pray to the
Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Priest: Father, you have entrusted all nations to Your Son, the Prince of Peace. Move the
hatred and violence of human hearts towards thoughts and actions for peace.
Through Christ our Lord.

April 25, 2017
Priest: Let us pray to the Father to grant us the grace of the Holy Spirit so that we may
be gifted and empowered to make a difference in spreading the Good News. Full
of confidence, we pray: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: That Pope Francis may lead the Church as true servant of Jesus Christ with faith,
hope and love.
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: That the Word of God may be a constant nourishment for Christians, drawing
each person closer in friendship with Jesus Christ, let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: That those who are missionaries in the Church may work together in good spirit,
supporting and encouraging each other, let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: That the Church may live out its mission to proclaim the Good News to the world
with charity, in hope, respecting the rights and dignity of each person, let us pray
to the Lord:

Lector: That all those who died for proclaiming the Good News may they find eternal rest
in heaven, let us pray to the Lord:

Priest: Heavenly God, hear the prayers of Your people. Bless our world with that peace
which comes from the Heart of the Risen Christ, who lives and reigns forever and
ever.

Priest: Brothers and sisters, Jesus came into our world in order to bear witness before
us those things which are of heaven and of God. We pray: Lord, hear our
prayer.

Lector: We pray for the Catholic Church and all her members, that by living Christs
commandment of love the world might believe in Him as our Lord and Savior.
Let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: We pray for a new respect in our society, in the Church, in politics, in business
and in relationships, since God is the source of all truth. Let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: We pray for the tense political situation over the world, that peace and justice
may prevail over distrust, hatred and intemperate language. Let us pray to the
Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: We pray that the Lord Jesus may bring the blessing of peace to our community
and throughout the country. Let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Priest: Lord, our God, in this Eucharist we taste and see Your goodness. Give us this
daily bread of the Eucharist so that we may be one with Jesus Christ who is Lord,
forever and ever.

April 27, 2017
Priest: Let us pray to the Lord that we may become true believers of Christ through lively
faith, active hope and sacrificing love. Full of trust, we pray: Lord, hear our
prayer.

Lector: That Church leaders may be like Jesus who is pure of heart and totally dedicated
to the Fathers will, let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: That we may come to know and love God more so as to obey His commandments
willingly and joyfully, let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: That we may shun anger and resolve conflicts, problems, and differences through
dialogue and mutual respect, let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: That the St. Joseph Chapel Community, made one by our common baptism,
continue to live in unity and peace, let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: That Christians may realize that love is a potent force for the transformation of
heart and society, let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Priest: Almighty Father, your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, taught us that we should be
holy as you are holy. Teach us to live by our faith that we may offer you a fitting
sacrifice now and forever.

Priest: Dear friends, Jesus who fed the multitude, will now feed us with the Bread of the
Eucharist. Let us pray to the Lord as we say: Graciously hear us, O Lord.

Lector: That Pope Francis, on his pastoral visit to different countries will be protected
from all harm, we pray:
Response: Graciously hear us, O Lord.

Lector: That those who are persecuted, imprisoned and tortured for their faith in Jesus,
may draw courage and hope from the apostles, who gave witness to Christ in their
sufferings, we pray:
Response: Graciously hear us, O Lord.

Lector: That we may, with full trust and confidence, entrust to God our fears and
inhibitions, we pray:
Response: Graciously hear us, O Lord.

Lector: That we may not only hear but also do the Lord's will by caring for the poor, the
sick, the marginalized, and the unborn, we pray:
Response: Graciously hear us, O Lord.

Lector: That the light of the Risen Christ shine upon the souls of our faithful departed, we
pray:
Response: Graciously hear us, O Lord.

Priest: Father, you are our constant help. May we see your goodness in the heavenly
Jerusalem where the Lamb is the true light and source of peace. Through Christ
our Lord.

Priest: The Spirit of God scrutinizes our inner thoughts and longings. Through the Holy
Spirit, let us pray to the Heavenly Father for our needs and those of others as we
say: Lord, we beseech You, hear us.

Lector: May Pope Francis, in celebrating the Eucharist, bring hope and courage to the
Catholics as they live in a difficult time, we pray:
Response: Lord, we beseech You, hear us.

Lector: May our Bishop and priests strengthen their commitment to be shepherds of the
people after the example of Jesus, who came among us as servant to all, we pray:
Response: Lord, we beseech You, hear us.

Lector: May our leaders, teachers, doctors, social workers and counsellors be inspired to
be bringers of hope in all situations, we pray:
Response: Lord, we beseech You, hear us.

Lector: May all those who feel isolated and alone feel Gods loving presence and may God
calm their fears and lead them into peace and freedom, we pray:
Response: Lord, we beseech You, hear us.

Lector: May our community be strengthened in faith and act as witness to the love and
mercy of Christ as we love our neighbors as ourselves, we pray:
Response: Lord, we beseech You, hear us.

Priest: Father, you love justice and right, and you fill the world with your love. Hear the
cry of your poor and move the rich and secure to act with true justice. Through
Christ our Lord.

PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL
FEAST DAY
Priest: The Lord is the source of all holiness. Let us therefore pray to our Lord God who
gave St. Joseph the light and strength he needed to be faithful at all times as we
say: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: For our Holy Father, Pope Francis, our Archbishop, Romulo, and all priests, that
they follow the example of St. Joseph and lead us through a responsible and
dedicated leadership, let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: For our Christian community, may we respect and love each other, and be
dedicated to our families by following the example of our patron Saint Joseph,
let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: For those entrusted with responsibilities in various ministries of the Church, may
they set a model Christian example for the people they lead, let us pray to the
Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: For all laborers, may Saint Joseph the Worker inspire us to work wholeheartedly
in this world, seeking always to give God glory and be faithful to the duties
assigned to them, let us pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Lector: For all mankind, that through the intercession of Saint Joseph, they may find the
opportunity to have secure employment and a fitting standard of living, let us
pray to the Lord:
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

Priest: Father, we praise you for having led Saint Joseph to serve our Son Jesus and his
Mother so faithfully; help us to be faithful to our responsibilities and serve you
with love. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
