Dear singers!

Only some weeks to go until our choral event starts, and our team is eagerly looking
forward to welcoming you in Calella!
We are pleased to hand out the preliminary documents for your participation in
Canta al mar 2016 Festival Coral Internacional!

The attachments include your travel documents, consisting of vouchers for all
services you have booked and your preliminary personal schedule, which has been
planned according to the guidelines of the artistic committee, and which lists all
relevant dates that must be kept without fail.

Please check all information in your schedule and your voucher and inform us as
soon as possible about any changes.

You will receive a program book, an updated schedule as well as further information
when you register at our festival office.

If you anticipate any delays in your arrival, please inform us as soon as possible.
Please take into consideration that services not used (like catering, acoustic
rehearsals, guided tours, etc.) are not refundable.

Registration

We ask the representative and the conductor of your choir to come to the festival
office for registration. In your individual schedule you can find the time for your
registration.
There you will receive your updated schedule, important last-minute information
and the participants passes.

Accommodation
Please note that we have considered the dates of receipt of registration and the
date of down payment when booking your accommodations. In every case, we
attempted to fulfil all accommodation requests. We regret any accommodation
requests that were not fulfilled and are unable to make changes as of this date.
Check-in at your accommodations begins at 13:00 h; Check-out is at 10:00 h. If you
wish to check in before 13:00 h or check-out after 10:00 h, there may be an
additional fee charged by the hotel.
We kindly ask you to send us your rooming list as soon as possible (if you have not
done yet) according to the number and room type given in the hotel voucher.

Catering
Full board is included in the event package, starting with the dinner on arrival day
and finishing with lunch on departure day. Please note beverages are not included.

Please let us know if your group has any special requirements concerning food, e.g.
vegetarians, gluten-free, etc. (if you have not done yet).
The day before your choir is in Barcelona either for an excursion or competition ,
please ask until 6 pm at the hotel reception to prepare you a meal box.
On 22 October, dinner (Paella) will be served at the Fiesta de la amistad as self-
service. Coupons will be handed out to you at the registration in exchange for the
Meal voucher (sent via E-Mail to you with your final documents).
Please confirm your attendance to the Paella in order to avoid food waste (if you
have not done yet.).

Regarding the waste of food: Please inform the hotel if you want to skip a meal.
Otherwise the hotel has to dispose of the food and thoughtfully prepared meal has
to be put into the rubbish.

Competitions & Stage Rehearsals

Stage Rehearsals
Every choir is required to have one stage rehearsal for each registered category. The
duration of the rehearsal includes going on and coming of stage. The listed time in
your schedule is the time when your rehearsal actually begins.

Competitions
In contrast to that the time given on your personal schedule for your competition is
not the actual performance time but arrival time. When you arrive you will check-in
and be guided to your warm-up room. After that you will be guided to the holding
area for awaiting your competition stage appearance.
Please be fully dressed in your concert attire when you arrive for your
competition. There are no changing facilities provided at the venues before the
competition.

You are welcome to see the other competition performances. Entrance to all events
is free of charge. Please enter the concert hall only in-between the competition
performances.

Competition Progr am
Changes regarding the order or the pitch of the selections of music for the
competition program must be reported to the artistic committee in writing at the
time of registration.
If the scores are missing from your packet, you must turn in 5 copies of each piece
at the time of your registration.
The day after your competition performance you may pick up your scores at the
festival office, less one reference copy that remains with the organizer.
Thank you for understanding that the scores which have not been pick ed up will not
be mailed to you afterwards.

Excursions
Visit Calella and Barcelona in your free time! In addition to the including tour to
Barcelona we offer the choirs participants a program with different possibilities for
excursions in Barcelona and its surroundings (please let us know if you did not
receive the E-Mail with the excursion program). If you would like to order
excursions, please send us your order form until October 9, 2016.

Workshop C antalani ng Y ou!


Discover the Catalan region, its own tradition and join the workshop Cantalaning
You!
The jury member scar Boada from Barcelona is looking forward to introduce to you
his Catalan origins during his workshop. You will get to know and sing some of the
most beautiful Catalan folksongs. Learn more about the rich music, its language and
its traditions. And afterwards you can enjoy their national desert with a cup of
Catalan sweet wine!
Take the chance and register now! We invite all choirs, conductors and singers to
take part in this workshop. It will take place on Thursday, October 20, at 11:00h in
Sala Mozart. The entrance fee is 9,- Euro per person.

number of persons that wants to participate in the workshop.
