ultimately we depend for sustenance and guidance. Alhamdulillah, all praises to
Allah for the strengths and his blessing in completing this final year project. The
final year project would not have been completed without the support and assistance
of many people. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you who helped and
contributed to successful completion of my degree. First and foremost, I wish to
express my deepest appreciation to my supervisor, En Yusuf Adiwijaya, for his
support and guidance, patience, and encouragement throughout the entire study
process.

Furthermore, not forgetting my family who has been my side throughout the

ABSTRACT

Children today are spending a lot of time in front of TV, computer screens
and tablets. But despite the technological growth and evolution, drawing should
always maintain its value and teachers or parents have to recognize its importance,
psychologists believe. Children draw to express what they are feeling and thinking.
Drawing is an especially important outlet for children who do not yet have the verbal
skills to communicate their feelings. When a child draws something familiar to them,
for example, a cat, they have the opportunity to think about what they know and how
they feel towards this animal.

This study explores the role of drawing in childrens communication,


emotion, and social at the preschool level. The quantitative data collections have
been used in this research by distributing the questionnaire to the sample. The study
included 15 preschool with a sample of 30 teachers.

The findings from the questionnaire to better understand how children use
drawing as a medium of communication in preschools and the teachers role in
facilitating childrens communication through drawing. The findings highlighted the
need to value childrens drawing and develop their emotional to expressing
themselves through drawing and enhancing children's social skill.

Kanak-kanak hari ini banyak menghabiskan masa di hadapan TV, skrin
komputer, dan tablet. Tetapi walaupun penambahan teknologi dan evolusi, lukisan
perlu sentiasa mengekalkan nilai dan guru-guru atau ibu bapa yang perlu menyedari
kepentingannya, ahli psikologi percaya. Kanak-kanak melukis untuk meluahkan apa
yang mereka rasa dan fikir. Lukisan adalah sebuah pusat penting terutamanya untuk
kanak-kanak yang belum mempunyai kemahiran lisan untuk berkomunikasi perasaan
mereka. Apabila kanak-kanak lukis sesuatu yang biasa mereka lihat, sebagai contoh,
kucing, mereka mempunyai peluang untuk berfikir tentang apa yang mereka tahu dan
perasaan mereka terhadap haiwan itu.

Kajian ini meneroka peranan lukisan dalam komunikasi kanak-kanak, emosi,


dan sosial di peringkat prasekolah. Koleksi data kuantitatif telah digunakan dalam
kajian ini dengan mengedarkan borang kaji selidik kepada sampel. Kajian ini
melibatkan 15 prasekolah dengan sampel 30 orang guru.

Dapatan daripada borang kaji selidik untuk lebih memahami bagaimana


kanak-kanak menggunakan lukisan sebagai medium komunikasi di prasekolah dan
peranan guru dalam memudahkan komunikasi kanak-kanak melalui lukisan. Dapatan
menekankan keperluan untuk menghargai lukisan kanak-kanak dan membangunkan
emosi mereka untuk menyatakan diri mereka melalui lukisan dan meningkatkan
kemahiran sosial kanak-kanak.
