Ping pong
A: Lets play ping pon.
B: I dont know anything about it. Ive never heard of that. How do you play it?
A: Ill tell you about it step by step. First of all, lets talk about the location.
B: OK. Where do people play it? Where is it played? Tell me.
A: People play it in China mainly. However, its played all over the world nowadays.
B: OK. But, where is it play exactly?
A: Oh! They play it on a table that is specially prepared and equipped.
B: What equipment is necessary to play it?
A: Its played with two pin pong paddles. Theyre like small rackets. You need also a tennis table o ping
pong table that has a small net that divides the table in two for each player.
B: What about the players? How many people play it?
A: There are two players that are face to face each other across from the table. In other occasion, there
are four players two in each team. They are competing against each player or against each couple.
A: How does the game starts?
B: They game begins when one of the players tosses the ball out and it bounces on the competitors
space on the other area of the table, so the other player has to hit the ball to the rival space and
bounces on the players area. This repeats until one of them misses the ball, throws it out of the area
of the table on the competitors space or it hits the net, but it doesnt go to the competitors area.
A: How complicated!
B: OK. Heres the short version. One player starts by tossing the ping pong ball, so it bounces on the space
of the other players area. Then this player does the same thing.
A: How does a player win the game?
B: The player with 11 points wins a set. The object is to score 11 points in official competitions, but in
recreational competitions, the objective is to score 20 points, and the player wins.
