the expression personal libery in Art 21 is of the widest amplitude and it covers q variety of rights

which go to constitute the personal liberty of man and some of them have been raised to the status
of distinct Fundamental Rights

the constitution does not grant in specific and express terms any right to privacy as such as Right to
Privacy is not enumerated as a fundamental right in the constitution..however, such a right has
been culled by the supreme court from Art 21 and several other provision of the constitution read
with the directive principals of state policy.

for the first time , as early as 1963, in Kharak singh a question was raised whether the right to
Privacy could be implied from the existing fundamental Rights , such as Art 19(1)(d), and 21. the
majority of judges participating in the decision said of the right to privacy that our constitution does
not in terms confer any like constitution guarantees.
