The S.N.

Bose Scholars Program provides an opportunity to Indian students

(currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters degree in Atmospheric and Earth
Sciences; Chemical Sciences; Engineering; Mathematical and Computational
Sciences; and Physical Sciences) to undertake research at the various US
Universities in the summer of 2018 for a period of 10-12 weeks. Student has to get
a recommendation letter from his teacher/tutor. In case he has completed a
training/internship in any lab, a reference from his supervisor there would be
preferred. Statement of Purpose and Research Experience has to be given to
evaluate your application. There are no partner universities under the program. As
part of the application, the students have to fill in their area of interest / potential
research idea(s). If the student is selected, placements will be done based on the
area indicated by the student in the application form. The students are also free to
get in touch with professors/ labs of their choice in the US (however it is not
necessary). All in all, the program aims to provide the best possible internship
experience to talented Indian students

The internship is 10-12week program, tentatively scheduled to be held

by mid of May to July 2018.
The scholarship includes the following:

- Stipend of 2000USD

- Airfare: Roundtrip (to be booked by IUSSTF travel desk)

- Health Insurance

The eligibility criteria and emphasize that only those candidates who have a
minimum of one year remaining for the completion of their course in India
are eligible to apply.
Kindly note that in case student is pursuing the first semester in his/her
masters degree (MSc/M. Tech degree), their Bachelors rank certificate and
mark list have to be attached. Students have to be nominated by institute as
per the following criterion:

Criteria for students to be nominated for S.N. Bose Fellowship:

Students may be screened according to their CGPA

Apart from CGPA the following points may be considered:
1. Students Should have worked in industry/research laboratory
2. Involvement of the student in any startup
3. Whether the student has received SURA
4. Any research project carried out with other organizations/ industry
5. Whether the student have participated in any major missions like Swachh
Bharat, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (in such cases the students have to
produce testimonials for their participation)
6. Any award received by the student for research paper presentation
7. Whether the student has been involved in any new idea, methodology in
Tinkering Lab.

Top ten students may apply through DAPC from each branch except
