SUMMER INTERNSHIP
Samsung India Software Operations, Bangalore Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) (May July 2011)
- Implemented a 256 QAM modem for 802.11ac Wireless Local Area Networks(WLAN)
- Computed an optimal quantizer for 256 QAM
- Implemented an algorithm which outperformed industry trusted results by 2.5-3 dB
- Suggested a different scheme of quantization, which performed 0.5-1 dB better than the above mentioned quantizer

KEY ACADEMIC PROJECTS

B. Tech Project Real Time Speech Recognition (July 2011 onwards)
- Designing a real time automatic speech recognition system for Hindi language
- Based on Hidden Markov Model trained on Mel-frequency Cepstral Coefficients extracted from the training data
- Model to be used on Online Directory project and Digital Mandi project
Analysis of Indian Manufacturing Sector (July 2011 onwards)
- Analysed efficiency and Factors of Productivity using Data Envelopment Analysis and Stochastic Frontier Analysis
- Input factors like capital inflow, labor etc. were identified and dependence level of each was calculated
- Other factors including economic reforms were also monitored to find out any possible correlation
Clustering and Indexing of Biometric Images (Aug Nov 2010)
- Huge facial images database(8000 images) was clustered and indexed for fast and effective searching
- Employed dimensionality reduction using Principal Component Analysis and Linear Discriminant Analysis
- Employed K-means clustering; Clustered database was then indexed using k-d trees
- Obtained high accuracy(96.7%) with low penetration rate(19.2%) establishing the success of our method

SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENTS
- Awarded the Summer Undergraduate Research Grant for Excellence (SURGE) 2010 by IIT Kanpur for working on
a research project at IIT Kanpur, given to only 75 students from all over India
- Awarded merit certificate for being among top 0.1% in CBSE (2006) class X Mathematics Examination
- Secured All India Rank 342 (out of nearly 300,000) in the IIT-JEE 2008 (Equivalent 99.9 percentile)
- Secured All India Rank 758 (out of nearly 600,000) in the AIEEE 2008 (Equivalent 99.9 percentile)

Head, Competitions (Core Team), Antaragni11(Inter Collegiate Cultural Festival of IITK) (Feb 2011 onwards)
- Led a 3-tier team of 27 coordinators, 100 secretaries; Managed about 50 competitions belonging to varied art forms
- Introduced new competitions like Parliamentary Debate, Choreography and various theme based competitions
which covers the widest range of competitions in any student festival
- Conceptualized online competitions like Mute-Video to publicize Antaragni through social networking websites
- Internship at prestigious institutions like Actor Prepares, Remos Dance Academy to be awarded to the winners
- Initiated pre-festival competitions to improve the quality of on-campus participation, like Parliamentary Debate

- Introduced innovative rounds like Movie-Drama which saw an overwhelming response from the participants
