Work1

This is your last year in the university and you are excited about the idea of starting your new worker
life. Unfortunately, your work experience is scant and you need to figure out a way of promoting
yourself.Then,
it
comes
to
your
mindthe
idea
of
building
a
website
that
talks
about
you.

Take into account that a personal website is not a resume. Resumes are boring. Personal Web sites
gives us the opportunity of differentiate ourselves from the rest. Some advantages of having a
personalWebsite
are
the
following:

You can emphasizes your strengths by driving the user attention to remarkable things about
you
Itmakes you
morefindable
Itgives
you
the
opportunityof
building
a
personalbrand
Itgives
you
a
differentiating
factor
from
the
rest
of
the
people

During previous laboratories, you have been working on that, so all you need to do now is to make
sure that everything is correct, to validate your html and to make the Web site as readable as possible
forbothrobots
and
humans.

Finally, you must add a new page with a portfolio to show your works (i.e. a set of images with a
captionand
a
short
description).

Following,you
can
find
a
checklist
with
all
the
things
that
are
expected
to
be
done.

Checklist

The site has, at least, a top menu that links 4 different pages: Home page, Resume page,
Portfolio
page and Contact page.
Home page must include an image and a description about you, a list of hobbies and
anythingelseyou wanttoremark (remember this
is
thefirst
page
that
users
will
see).
Resume page must contain your curriculum vitae with your goals, your academic background
and
your workexperience.
Portfolio page must contain a set of your best works/projects. Each element of the portfolio
shouldincludean image, atitleand a
short description.
Contact page must show all your contact information and and it should include links to your
social
websites (i.e:
facebook, twitter,linkedIn, etc.)
Otherthings
tobe considered:
Use structural and Semantic HTML tags
Use listsandnested lists
Include images (remember naming conventions and where
youshouldstore
them)
Use css for
thepresentation layerin
separate files
Use selectors, classes and id
Make sure that all the elements of the webpage are coherence (e.g: all h1 elements
has
the same color and size, etc.)
Improve thewebsite using colors, background colors, paddingsand
margins

Bonus(optional)

Readabout
the
<nav
>
element
and
use
it
on
your
menu.

Observations

Try to be as creative as you can using all the elements and concepts explained so far. You can
definitely learn and use css attributes by your own but try to avoid using elements not explained in
previouslectures
because
they
will
not
be
evaluated
(e.g:
javascript,
animations,
tables,
etc).
