Your neuronal structure neces

What you must understand is
this: Each of the events in each
of your lives were "once "
probable. From a given field of
action, then , you choose those
happenings that will be physical
ly m aterialized .
This operates in individual
mass term s. Suppose that to day
your home was robbed . Yester
day the theft was one o f
innumerable pro bable events. I
chose such an example because
more than one person would
have to be involved-the victim
and the ro b ber. Why was your
home ransacked , and not your
neigh bor's? In one way or
another, through your conscious
thought you attracted such an
event, and drew it from
pro babiliy into actuality . The
occurrence would be an ac
cum ulation of energy-turned
into action-and be brought
about by corollary beliefs .
You m ay be convinced that
human nature is evil, or that no
one is safe from another 's
aggression , or that people are
motivated m ainly by greed . Such
beliefs attract their own realit y .
If you have anything worth
losing, you are then automatical
ly convinced that som eo ne else
will take it from you, or try th eir
hardest to do so . In your own
way you send out m essages to
j ust such a person . On basic
levels your convictions wil l be
quite sim ilar, but one will see
him self as the victim and o ne as
the aggressor-that is, each of
you will react differently to the
sam e set of beliefs. However, the
two of you are necessary if a
crime of that nature is, or is to
be, comm itted .
The beliefs o f both of you
find justification in physical life,
and only reinforce them selves .
The fear of ro bbers attracts
rob bers . If you think that men
are evil , however, y ou are often
not able to exam ine that as a
belief, but take it as a condition
of reality.
All of your present experience
was drawn from probable reality .
During your life any event must
come through your creature
hood, with the built-in time
recognition that is so largely a
part of your neuro logical struc
ture ; so usually there is a lag, a
lapse in time, during wh ich your
beliefs cause material actualiza

your convictions in order to
change your experience, you also
have to first stop the m om entum

There has been much mystery
and speculation shrouding the
subject of the pyramids down
through th e ages. So me material
has obviously been written by
escapists who would like to en
vision the pyramids as UFO way
stations erected by super-intelli
gent spacemen in the dim past.
Others like to convey the image
of babbling, mistreated , over
worked , s u p e r-stupid slaves
spending their whole lifetime
building a tomb for their great
leader ! All of this is interesting
reading, but d oesn 't prove much
of anything and is mostly with ou t
the facts to back up the theories.
Add to this the wealth of misin
formation spewed out of school
text and reference books, and it
is quite a dilema, no less a
mystery.
Sin ce I had a choice only
between these two theories, I
naturally ch ose to believe that
my ancestors were super-intelli
gent. That satisfied my ego , but
didn 't do much for my logic . I
have since read another theory
which has satisfied both my ego
and my logical se nse .
I can imagine that th is is
similar to the pro blem Mr. Ed
ward J. Kunkel faced back in
1 9 2 9 , and he set out to do

something about it. He has seen
and explored the pyramids and
the Sphinx and has developed
some new theories and answers
of his own. I say 'new ' only in
the respect that his work is not
as well known and accepted in
the U nited States as it is else
where. I cannot begin to do
justice or to cover the mterial in
Mr. Kunk el's book, Pharaoh 's
Pump, fo r it is in much detail with
many diagrams ; h owever, I would
like to p ass along so me interesting
facts. I have read both the 2nd and
3rd editions o f th is book several
times and have corresponded
with Mr. Kunkel for over a year
during which time he has
discussed h is ideas further. As he
always says, " It was a labor of
love and I have yet to make $50
on the project. "
I h ave come to the conclusion
that h is theories are sound , prac
tical and believable . In a letter to
Mr. Kunkel d ated M arch 3, 1 93 4 ,
G . W . Carver said in part , " Your
letter, draw ings, n e ws paper
clipping are all marvelously
in teresting to m e. Your expla na
tion , I believe, is the s olu tion of
one of the grea test mysteries of
the ages. Your dra w ings make it
q u ite clear as to h ow it c ou ld be
d one. " Also , there is this from
Robert C. Bec k , senior lecturer
and instructor, University of
Southern California, "After over
com ing my ow n in itia l dis be lief
(an d prejud ice ?) up on first
exposure to y our w ork and
disc overies, I am prese n t ly
p ositively con vin ced (as are a
n u m ber of eq ually q ua lified b u t
hardheaded colleagues) that y ou
have made one of the m ost
astounding, valid, and pertin en t
disc overies t o em erge in the
fields of a n th ropology, h istory,
civil and m echan ical engineering
in the past several decades. In
fact, if I were on som e sort of a
"Nob el Priz e ' com m it tee, I 'd
sp onsor y our w ork for an a ward
for solving a m ystery as old as
recorded h istory ; and for im
plemen ting th is b rillia n t insigh t
w ith carefu l in vestiga tion and
d ocumenta tion of verifia b le
da ta. "
The theory is that the ancient
Egyptians could e asily transport,
lift and position massive tons of
blocks by using water pumps and
barges. Further, the pyramid s
were built with such vigor be
cause it was a matter of su rv ival
to the people of that time and
area. Before I go any further, let
me say that Mr. K u nkel h as
thoroughly examined and re
searched th is area. He has a
working model of the Pharaoh 's

name, the Hydraulic R am Pump
No . 2,8 8 7 , 9 5 6 . He readily ad
mits having stolen the whole idea
from the Egy ptians who invented
it thousands of years ago.
Let's suppose that very long
ago we- lived in a country where
there was no rain fall , that was
desolate, dry and barren-for
those of us who live in a desert
area today that isn 't as hard to
im agine as it is for some-and
where the only so urce of water is
the Nile river. If water was a
desperate need for survival, then
the people w ould naturally it's ringing. M r. Kunkel believes
searh for and learn of a way to
take water from the river. The
will to survive and overcome has
always been the prime motiva
tion in m an and that has never
changed. It is fact that water at
one tim e surrounded th e Great
Pyramid and the Sphinx. Hero
dotus writes a good deal about
th e lake peo ple and their
customs and said , "The Pyram id
was perpetually surrounded by
water in an island like manner. "
With in th e girdle walls which
surround the temple of Mut is
found the remains of a "sacred
lak e ". This lake is positive proof
that long ago the enclosure had .
water in i t. The 60 ton statue of
Ram eses 1 1 and other artifacts
have been fo und buried in the
m ud.
No auth or has m entioned the
soot pattern on the ceiling of the
Grand Gallery. In fact, one
mention is made that "no soot "
or evid ence of in side fires or
lighting exists. Mr. Kunkel found
a soot pattern shaped like a
comet in an aerodynamic pattern
that was as fresh and distinct as
though it w as made yesterday!
Above th e so ot pattern , on the
East side , is a firing hole.
Tak e into co nsideration that
the Great Pyram id is a gigantic
water pump, and that the
Sphin x , probably hollow , had
the function to supply the pump vegetables to burn the insides o ut
with water! Mr. Kunkel states,
"During th e sum mer, when the
Nile floods, the sun is in th e
constellation Leo, or the Lion.
The lion , to the ancient, was a
symbol of force , while the head

of a man was th e symbol for
intellect. A symbolic interpreta
tion of this h uge carving of the
Sph inx , then , is mind , the master
of force, or m ore broadly-m ind
over matter. "
In the King 's Chamber is
found the sarcophagus. It is
holl owed out from a rectangular
block of red granite . It has a very
peculiar physical characteristic .
When struck with a club or a
stone it will ring like a bell with a
deep mellow tone. It has , in fact,
taken a terrific beating by
tourists who beat on it to hear
this to be nothing more than a
great granite bell , an alarm bell,
wh ich bumped against the ceiling
of the King 's Chamber when the
air cush ion in the chamber
became to small. It transm itted.
it 's sound through the water
warning the builders that the air
cush ion was dangerously small
and they had better tend to it
before a solid mass of water h it
th e ceiling blowing the chamber
apart.
The pyramids are oriented so
the North side faces tru e
north-not magnetic north. The
magnetic pole is always m oving,
and it seems that the ancients
were aware of this fact. Ho wever,
when a d iagonal tube is
positioned in true north to south
d irection , water flowing through
it will attain a much higher
velocity. Perhaps this is an
important reason for this orienta
tion.
It is interesting to note that
Herodotus wrote ab out an
inscription in Egyptian charac
ters on the pyramid which
records the quantity of radishes ,
o nions , and garl ick consumed by
the workers who constructed it.
There must have been an
important meaning to th is as Mr.
Kunkel states, "There were such
an abundance o f these hot
of every m an , woman and child
in the valley. " Surely they did
not eat all o f these and why
would they record it if they did?
All of th ese vegetables h ave one
thin g in com mon . They are hot
and burn the tongue. They taste
hot: hot, only when they are
inside the mouth do they create
an internal burning sensati on of
fire. It is believed that this is the
way the builders recorded the
am ount o f fuel c onsum ed ; the
num ber o f times the pump was
fired and a record of fuel
consum ption. Perring said he
found Nile Earth in th e fine lime
mortar of the Great Pyramid , but
m akes no further comment on it .
This co uld indicate that it was
forced in durin g pum ping opera
tions an d c ame from the muddy
flood waters o f th e Nile during
the summer construction period .
The use of h ieroglyphics is the
earliest m ethod of writing. The
pictures of fish and birds w ould
be the most likely to be used for
water and air as both elements
are colorless. Mr. Kunkel has
devoted several pages of h is book
to hieroglyphics found in the
pyramid and th eir explanations.
Where is and what happened to
th e pump? Mr. Kunkel believes
that it still exists today , that it
lies buried beneath thousands of
tons of ro ck and is known to all
as the interior of the Great
Py ram id !

It is very possible that the
pyram ids w ere built to conquer
desert space; to serve man in a
tim e of need ; to m ake desert
land fertile. Perh aps in th is day '
and age of over-population ,
land-stripping, and the scarcity
of available fertile lands, the true
function and purpose of the
pyram ids will be red iscovered by
man. This knowledge w ill serve
him once again and fulfill it's
ultim ate purpose, as it did for
our ancestors in times go rte by . I
believe that th is theory is j u st as
interesting, dramatic and neces
sary as any other theory I have
ever read . You have only to drive

When you alter these conscious
beliefs through effort, then a
period of time is necessary while
the structure learns to adj ust to
the new preferred situation . If
beliefs are changed overnight,
comparatively less time is re
quired .
In a manner of speaking, each
belief can be seen as a powerful
station , pulling to it from fields
of probabilities only those signals
to which it is attuned, and
blocking out all others. When
you set up a new station there
may be som e static or bleed
through from an old one for a
whil e .
Any ability y o u have, then ,
can be "brought in more
clearly , " amplified, and becom e
practical rather than probable.
But in such a case you m ust
concentrate upon the attribute
not, for example, upon the fact
that you have not used it well
thus far.
Now : An artist produces a
body of work in his lifetime .
Each painting is but one
materialization , one focused
presentation, of an endless
variety of probable paintings.
The actual work involved in th e
selection of data is still made
according to the beliefs in the
artist's conscious m ind as to who
he is, how good an artist he is,
what k ind of artist he is, what
"school " of artistic beliefs he
subscribes to , h is ideas of society
and his place in it, and esthetic
and econom ic values, to name
but a few .
The same sort of thing
operates in the actualization of
any event in which you are
involved . You create your life,
then . Inner images are of great
importance to the artist. He. tries
to project them upon his canvas
or board . Again, you are each
your own artist, and your inner
visualizations become models for
other situations and events. The
artist utilizes training and m ixes
his colors in order to give artistic
flesh to his painting. The images
in your m ind draw to themselves
all the proper emotional energy
and power needed to fill th em
out as physical events.
You can change the picture of
your life at any time if only you
realize that it is simply the one
portrait of yourself that you
have created from an unlimited
amount of probable ones . Th e
peculiar aspect of your .own
probable portraits will still be
characteristic of you, and no
other.
The abilities, strengths, and
variance that you may want to
actualize are already latent, in
your terms, and at your disposal .
Suppose that you are unhealthy
and desire health . If
understand the nature of prob
abilities, you will not need to
pre ten d to ignore your present
situation . You will recognize it
instead as a probable reality that
you have physically material.zied .
Taking that for granted, you
will then begin the process
necessary to bring a different
probability into physical exper
ience .
You will do this by con
centrating upon what you want,
but feeling n o conflict between
that and what you have, because
one will not contradict the other ;
each will be seen as a reflection
of belief in daily life . As it took
some time to build up your
present image with its unhealthy
aspects, so it may take time to
change that picture . But con cen
tratio n upon the present un
healthy situation will
prolong it. Period .
Each condition is as real or
unreal as the other. Which you?
Which world? You have your
choice, broadly , within certain
frameworks that you
chosen as a part of your
creaturehood . The past as you
think of it, and the subconscious,
again as you think of it, have
little to do with your present
experience outside of
beliefs about them . The past
contains for each of you some
moments of j oy , strength ,
creativity , and splendor, as well
as episodes of unhappiness,
despair perhaps,_ turmoil , and
cruelty . Your present convictions
w ill act like a m agnet, activating
all such past issues, happy or sad .
You will choose from your
previous experience all of those
events that reinforce your
conscious beliefs, and so ignore
th ose that do not ; the latter may
even seem to be nonexistent.
The em erging m em ories will
then tum on the body mecha
nism s, merging past and present
in some kind of harm onious
picture. This means that the
pieces will fit together whether
they are j oyful or not.

then, quite practically alters both
the past and the future . For you,
because of your neurological
organization, the present is

our attention here at Beyond
R eality M agazine by Judith
Skutch , president of the F ounda
tion for Parasenso ry Investiga
tion . Captain Edgar M itchell has
appeared on many television
shows with Uri witnessing his
amazing power of psychokinesis
or telekinesis, bending metal
with his mind . Uri has also de
monstrated a great talent for
mental telpathy as well as for
materiali zing and dematerializing
objects. He has been investigated ,
under rigidly controlled labor
atory conditions, by one of th e
largest thin k tanks in the United
States , S R I in California . Despite
this , every top magician in the
country has been claiming that
Uri Geller is a fraud , a fake , and
that they can duplicate all his
feats. True, th ey can duplic ate
so me through that use of illu
sio ns, but not all .
I have a great deal of respect

they 're masters at their craft. For
instance, I have an associate
named Bob Dorian (he goes
under the title of the Amazing
Dorion ) , who is one of the great
est magicians I 've ever seen . He
has explained to me some of the
te chniques used by the top magi
cian s .
But Uri Geller i s something
else . He is a young man who has
tre men dous amounts o f charisma
and charm . He is a very hum ble
person and , unbeknownst to
many, he 's extremely spiritual,
to o, and very , very enlightened .
He is very spiritually aware of all
things around him, even though
he does not o ften express it
because he 's afraid he 'll be sub
jected to even more ridicule th an
he sometimes h as to face now.
But the spiritual element is
meaningful and is usually over
looked by science. The missing
link , I believe , in D arwi n 's theory
of evolution is the spiritual lin k .
I first met Uri when he came
to the editorial o ffices of Beyond
Reality Magazine in the latter
part of last year. During this
meeting, we performed a nu mber
of experiments .
First of all , he ben t metal
objects , my key for one. Both ,
the publisher Mr. Bel il and I kept
a sharp lookout for all the tricks
that my magician friend had told
me to watch for-and they sim

ply were not there . The key was
in plain sight at all times. It bent,
and even when Uri stopped his
concentratio n , the key kept
bending. Also , there was an iron
ruler in th e o ffice. Uri bent the

of these charms are put there to
protect them against accidents ,
but many are carried not for
amusement or decoration, but to

The origin of this superstition
and these charms is said to have
started sometime in th e late
1 9 3 0 's . It is rumored that around
that period a taxi was running at
midn ight along the Imperial
Palace moat near where the
Palace Hotel now stands . It is
said the driver saw another car
coming toward him , but as it
came closer he noticed that there
was no one inside . Several days
later he was k illed in aq accident
and therefore the superstition
that, when a driver met such a
driverless and passengerless car,
he would have a serious accident
within a short time was born . As
a result drivers began to carry
dolls or charms in their cars to
erase the evil influence of
meeting an empty vehicle on the
road .
As tim e went on, various
other ghostly stories involving
taxi drivers and phantom passen
gers began to circulate . As these
stories became m ore numero us
residence she had entered to

story was that of a driver who

According to another story a
taxi carried a woman passenger
to Tsuna-m achi in M ita-ku,
Toky o , but when they got there
no one was home at the address
she directed him to, so she asked
him to drive her to Ningyo-cho
in Nihonbashi. At her destination
she left the cab witho ut paying.
When the driver went to th e
collect his fare he found that the
fam ily was holdin g a funeral
service for their daughter - who
was supposed to have m arried a
m an in Tsugam achi but who had
died before the cerem ony was to
be held the day before . The
picture on the funeral altar was
that of his woman passenger .
As these stones were cir
culated among the drivers they
developed the custom of carrying
charms of dolls in their cabs to
ward off the evil spirits of these
phantom women passengers.
O f course there is a reasonable
explanation for everything. Oh-
yo u think so? Wel l , next time I
will tell you about my own
p e rsonal experi ences with
Japanese spirits ( that 's not
booze) or Akasaka bar witches
either, but about the various
ghosts that haunt the racing
circuits in Japan such as the
mysterious num ber 42 ca1 that

reliable three-inch telescope has
confirmed on Crade Hill, War
minster, and capable of trans
porting thousands of passengers
in addition to crew members. It
might n ot be grossly exaggerative
to estimate that the biggest aero
forms can carry 2 0 0 , 0 0 0 people
without any sem blance of over

Actual working details of these
coils is not easy to comprehend,
principally because o f certain er
roneous Earth conceptions about
the precise behaviour of elec
trons and electronic field dis
tribution.
This coil is, in fact, four
separate coils arranged in sets o f
two above and belo w the m id
point on the column . In each set
there are an inner and an outer
coil. The former is wound intern
ally in a space left during con
struction of the column. It is
wound round as if on a coil
former. It has many thousand s o f
turns o f the finest wire-highly
v i b rating, transmuted copper
wire with a speed of at least a
million and a half cycles per
nanno-second . This most ideal
and faultfree wire, however, is
un obtainable on Earth and is

specially created . The outer coil
is made of much thicker wire
abou t one millimeter in dia eter
and is wound in the opposite
direction to the inner comple
ment. Both upper and lower sets
are wound with reversed po lar
ity . This ensures complete con
trol o f the field generated at the
ends of the colum n .
Because this column pas!;ies
through the central accommo
'
dation area of the air chariot, it
is essential to shield the area
from magnetic and electronic
fields. This can be effected in
two subtle ways. The first is to
surround the power column with
a cy clinder of n on-magnetic ma
terial that has the property of
absorbing the field immediately
around th e coils and transmitting
it to the spheres at either end of
the power column. This elim
inates the fields generated in the
craft. The second method is de
signed to preve nt the po wer field
generated around the ship from
passing through into the passen
ger areas _. This is achieved by
several portions o f the external
surface of the craft having a
small electronic charge which is
able to repel the field . It is
mainly necessary when the space
ship is stopping and the po wer
field is turned off, for it could
enter the craft as the field col
lapses .
The second main coil is a rin g
around the maximum perimeter
of the ship. In our scientific
terms it would be described as
the main pulsing coil. The third
and fourth coils are situated
above and below the main puls
ing oil. They are relatively close
to it and used to provide an
additional pulse . The purpose
and us of these three coils is
explained when we consider the
actual mode of operation. Very
important are the fifth and sixth
coils , even though they are just a
simple ring of heavy gauge wire
above and below the third and
fourth coils . They are complete
in a single turn and carry no
current. They are charged posi
tively or negatively as is needed
to control flight. The seventh
coil has a vital role in connection
with steering and directional in
ertial control.
The latter is most important
when the craft has no "tail " like
Earth aircraft, to keep them
pointing in the direction in
which they are heading. Without
this, they would remain facing
the same direction , no matter
which way they were travelling!
It therefore makes no difference
if the craft is moving forward ,
sideways or backward : such ma
noeuvres are pro bably simply a
matter of personal orientation
and-as a rule-one can imagine
our flying friends preferring to
sit "facing the engine , " to reduce
the experience to our analogo us
terminology . So the seventh coil
is employed to give the occu
pants a sense of direction at all

such a ship operate? What makes
it successfully. n egotiate and
overcom all atmospheric and
gravity problems that we on
Earth still must hurdle before
venturing very far into outer
space?

This is not a plan of any partic
ular mach ine ; rather, it is a dia
grammatical representation to
show relaive positions of the
main components. This craft
would be around thirty to
thirty-three feet in diameter and
would be de signed to carry a
crew of at least six to eight. It
would be based, when away from
the mothercraft, on nearby plan
etary reaches in our Solar Sys
tem , or even at a secluded point
on Earth itself, and would be
used on long-data collecting mis
sion s. One could assume it would
possess a well equip ped labor-

energized, it acts m ore or less like
a very strong b ar-magnet with a

the top, the other at the botto m .
This field completely encloses
the ship, as sh o wn in the second
diagram ( b ) . I t can be seen that
the field passes through the craft.
In small intensities this does
not matter, but when the field
strength is increased , it becomes
a d istinct health hazard, to put it
mildly. That is when the mag
netic shielding device comes into
operation-the second of the two
mentio ned-and pushes the field
outward to the surface skin of
the craft, so that the actual
workin g interior is in a magnetic
vacuum of sorts. Once this field
has been established , its shape
and intensity noted on instru
ments, it can be determined
which sort of pulsing coils should
be activated and w hich polarity
is required by the control rings.
One deduces that this would be

time has forgotten .

found on any road maps used by
modern m otorists. No person liv
ing today ever walked its van
ished streets. It exists only as a
name in yello wed county rec
ords, and in the fad ing memories
of old men .
O ne house remains , aban
doned , desolate , falling into ruin .
The lost past h overs over it like a
great dark shadow. It stands in
silent vigil over the dead years.
Haunted by the ghosts of yester
ye ar, its walls rise stark against
the sky during the day. And at
night the wind in the magnolias
and live oaks is like a requiem .

reached its end on a quiet
autumn night in 1 9 5 0 .
But the tale o f Jacksonboro
begins long ago , soon after the
American Revolution . Founded
in 1 7 94, the y ear Gen . Anthony
Wayne routed the Indians at Fall
en Timbers, the year o f the
Wh iskey Rebellion, it grew rapid
ly in to the largest town in the
area. It became the county seat.
Here the stagecoaches stopped to
change horses ; it had stores, tav
erns, livery stables and black
smith shops. Jacksonboro , h ow
ever, was a tough town in a
rough tinie. Its inha'Qitants were
pioneers, arriv ing out of the wild
erness and hardened by frontier
life. Their customs were like
their buildings, crude and rough
hewn . They were boisterous and
frequently thoughtless.
Seaborn Goodall came to the
town in the early years of the
last century . H is name was ap
propriate. He had been born at
sea while his parents were com
in g to Americ a. And he was a
good man , powerful in physique ,
but k ind and God-fearing. It was
said he lived by the Golden Rule,
and G od expects little more than
that !
Goodall cam e to Jacksonboro
to stay . He built the best h ouse
in the town , solid and substantial
on a firm foundation to with
stand the many years to come.
Then, in 1 83 0 , another m an
arrived as a visitor. He was Lor
enzo Dow, an itinerant preacher.
Dow looked at the saloons and
the hard-drinking, rowdy men
and shoo k his head . Then he
climbed up onto the back of a
wagon and began to preach . " I
call upon you t o repent, " h e
shouted . " In t h e eyes o f G o d this
town is an ugly sinful sore on the
face of the earth . "
The men laughed at the little ,
hunchbacked evangelist with the
burning eyes. They pelted him
with eggs and tomatoes. They

tormented h im . No matter in
wn at d irection he tried to leave,
he found h is way b locked by
men who shoved h im back with
words of scorn and rid icule .
Seaborn Goodall appeared . He
pushed his way through the
group and p laced his arm around
Dow. " Y ou fellows should be
ashamed , " he said . "T his n1an is
doing what he believes is right. In
his way he is trying to help you.
He 's little and harmless and help
less. If you don 't like what he
says, walk away , but don 't be
bullies. "
The men grinned at o n e an
other as Goodall led the preacher
away and to ok him to his home.
That night after su pper Dow
told the G oodall family of his
long wanderings, o f his efforts to
bring religion to the pioneer set
tlements. Later he was given the
best bed in the house .
When morning came, Goodall
had to go to Savannah on busi-
ness and could n ot be present to walked away, a lonely figure on a

played back and they contain
extra voices-human voices.
These are not aud ible to peo ple
present at the time of recording,
but they can be h eard when the
tape is replayed. Since the
m icrophone used on a regular
recorder is able to pick up o nly
sounds audible to the human ear,
people in the experim ent ro o m
should hear the vo ices. They do
not and so far no physical law
has been found to explain this.
The voice phenomena is not an
isolated occurrence, either. Over
7 2 ,000 exam ples have been
recorded by one researcher, and
all these exam ples have the same

Perhaps the most interesting
characteristic is their identity .
The voices say they are dead , but
go on to explain that they have
not ceased to exist. Over and
over m essages are received to the
effect that "th e dead live".
Voices give their names and
recall accurate m emories of their
lives on Earth . There are m ale,
female or even children 's voices .
In addition , experimenters and
witnesses can o ften recognize the
voice o f a friend or relative . The
voices describe their post-mortal
experiences, and it is interesting
that these descriptions are
consistent with information re
ceived by psychics and trance
mediums.
Other characteristics of the
voices are that they speak at
twice the normal speed of h uman
speech and in a strange rhyth m .
Because o f this speed , i t i s often
very difficult to hear the voices
at first. All m essages are in an
abbreviated, telegraph style , and
grammer rules are ignored . At
times a single sentence may even
contain words from four or. five
different languages. Experi
menters thought at first that the

To start a recording session , the
researcher usually makes a verbal
note of the date and experiment
number, then requests that any
entities present manifest on the
tape. The experimenter and 1
witnesses can then ask questions
or ask that a particular person
speak .
Voices som etimes respond as
if they are present in the
recording room . ' They are aware
of room conditions, changes in
the recording procedure and even
the weather. The voices have
even commented about the
absence of someone j ust after the
exact time that person left the
room.
The methods for recording
voices are simple and need not
involve any complicated equip
ment . The only special ability an

sense of hearing. Because the

before a person can hear them .

Crete, intended to be a brief visit
to check his theories on Cretan
pictographs. On im pulse he dug

stone blocks which attracted his
curiosity . The "brief visit "
balistic M inotaur with the human
body and the head of a bul l . A
court scandal reveals the illicit
romance o f M inos' wi fe , Queen
Pasiphae , with G eneral Taurus.
Taurus was nicknamed "The
Bull . " The illegitimate male
offspring's bullish facial features
betrayed his parentage . To avoid
embarassm ent, M inos con fined
the ch ild in the Labyrinth . The
Ariadne , fell in love with the
brave and bronzed Greek 'prince .
The whirlwind rom ance included
Theseus' promise o f elopement
and m arriage . Ariadne slipped
Theseus a sword with which to
slay the , M inotaur. To help
Theseus retrace his way back out
o f the Labyrinth , Ariadne also
gave him a ball of gold thread .
He needed only to attach the

rest of Evans' life. He had
discovered the Palace of M inos,
depository of a pre-classical
civilization dating back to 2600
B . C . It had been so m agnificant

All history texts had disclaim
ed any civilization in Europe
prior to 8 00 B .C . Supported only
by vague Biblical references,
em bellished by folktales and

Actual bullbaiting, in which
both male and female athletes
won fame and privileges, was a

sports arena o f the palace.
Through th e ages the accidental
deaths risked by the athletes on
the horns of vic ious but physic
ally normal bulls, eventually
distorted n ormal deaths in the
bullring into the legend of he
imprisoned bastard prince - the
Minotaur.
The first two Greek install
the
ments of human taxes were
sacrificed to Crete . When the
third shipm ent came due,
Theseus, son o f King Aegeus,
volunteered . Theseus would at
te mpt to free Greece from the
evil treaty by killing th e
M inotaur. When Theseus and his
thirteen ill-fated companions
departed , their ship was fitted
with the traditional black sails o f
national mournin g. If sy.ccessful,
such upon his return Theseus was to
trim his craft with white sails as a
signal for th e appropriate wel
coming festivities.
The Greek youths arrived in
Crete on schedule. During the
period of sacrificial ceremonies
also in the enorm ou s theatre o f
Minos' palace , M inos' daughter,
thread to the Labyrinth lintel
and unwind the ball as he
wended his way through the
maz e . M eanwhile, Ariadne pre
pared the crew of the Greek
galley for a h asty departure .
In fact as in fancy , Theseus
d id slay Minotaur. He d id rescue
his companions, a:nd he did elope
with Ariadne. However, consis
tent with the Greek penchant for
tragedy , they did not live happily
ever after.
Enroute home, Theseus put
his sh ip in at an island for
suppli,es . Fables attrib ute con-.
flicting accounts of disastrous
interventions by the gods (hurri
cane , shipwreck , epidemic? ) and
of deliberate d esertion . Records
do, h owever, verify that Theseus
returned to Athens without
Ariadne. To compound the irony
of the hero 's hollow victory, he
had forgotten to change the sails.
Interpreting the black sails as a
harbinger of his son 's death , the
grieving Aegeus thre w himself
into the sea. I f Aegeus him self
has become clouded in mythol
ogy , there remains the very real
identity of the Aegean Sea, so
named by the Gre_eks to
immortalize his tragedy of
paternal devotion .
The ancient myth becomes
even less incredulous in the light
of Evans' archaeological findings .
Ariadn e 's plan for Theseus '
escape came from her old court
friend and con fidant, Daedalus.
And who could advise the love
stricken princess with more
authority? It was D aedalus,
foremost architect and engineer
of his era, who had designed and

silence should follow . This allows
the voices to manifest with out
interfering noise . Any back
ground noise , such as a clo ck ,
sho uld be elim inated as it will
dominate the record ing and
make "listening in " even more
d ifficult . Any questio n can be
asked as lo ng as a pause follows
each . Researchers recommend
that no m ore than ten to fifteen
m inutes be recorded during one
session because of the time
necessary for "listening in ". This
method is called microphone
recording and is the easiest, but
voices record ed this way are also
the most difficult to hear.
Microphone vo ices are "quick as
lightening" and very soft . They
are easily drowned o ut by other
noise .
Radio record ings usually
produce clearer yoices. For th is
method the experimenter uses a
regular portable radio and lo cates
a " between frequency " channel
or uses a frequency after a
station has closed for the night .
A true "inter-frequency" mu st
be found for this type o f
recording. On th is frequen cy
only rush ing static n o ise is
audible . The tape recorder is
then hooked up to the radio as
for taping a regular rad io
broadcast . Voices stand out
against the rush ing background
no ise and are usually easy to
hear. The voices seem to operate
several "transmitting tations" of
their own , and mention these in
their messages. Often a mediating
voice will take charge of th is
ty pe recording sessi on and will
give instru ctions and frequency
inform ation .
Combining microphone and
radio recording methods pro
duces lo nger sentences and even
d iscussion between th e vo ices.
For this method the researchei
sets hi tape recorder for
microphone and places the m ike
close to a portable radio, wh ich

has been tuned to an inter-fre
quency channel as before .
The clearest voices are pro
du ced by diode record ings , but
th is m ethod is a!so the m ost
com plicated . The recorder is
hooked up to a standard diode,
and the diode aerial m ust be
adj usted to receive the voice
vibratio ns . For this method the
tape recorder m ust be turned to
"high " . Amateur experimenters
will probably find "the first three
methods more than satisfactory .
Experts in m any fields have
suggested theories to explain the
vo ice phenom ena. At first the
researchers tho ugh that their
radio record in gs might easily be
pick ing up regular radio broad
casts, and that these could be
producing the voice effect. The
unchanging nature of the phen
omena in thousands of examples,
ho wever, m akes this improbable .
In add ition , the fact that vo ices
often mention experimenters by
name and even by unusual
nicknames represents a m ath
ematically inconceivable chance
that such names could be picked
up from ord inary radio trans
m issions at th e exact time o the
experiem nt . A large British
electro nics and communications
com pany has conducted tests in
wh ich all extern al electrical
in terference was blo cked out,
and many voices were recorded
during these sessions.
Since prese nt known physical
laws do not seem to explain this
phenom ena, some psycholo gists
have suggested that the voices
m ight be the pro duct of th e
e x p e r i m e n t er's un conscious
m ind . This explanation is also
offered for other psychic phe
nomena. It is difficult to prove
that a medium in trance is not
being influenced by his uncon
scious m ind, but the voices
ap pear on tape even when they
are recorded in em pty rooms. It
has also been suggested that the
voices m ight be produced by
collective hallucinatio n . This is
not a suitab le ex planation
because the voices c an be co pied
onto different tapes and are still
audible .
Psychic s seem to agree that
either th e spirits of the dead or
elementals are respo nsible for the
voice phenomena. Elementals are
en tities of an eth ically low order
who have l ittle intelligence. They
are very telepatl)ic, however, and
could easily read the m ind of the
experim enter or pick up the
mem ories ( psychic rem nants ) of
the deceased and im itate them .
Th is theory does not explain
how th e voi ces are received and
is just as exciting as communica
tion with the dead . Co ntact with

existence of a dimension that

In a series of articles on laser
techno logy , the authoritative
aerosp ace journal A v ia tion Week,
claimed that "indications are
that th e m ulti-million dollar,
tri4service U.S. l aser weapons
research program . . . ( is ) . . . ap
proachin g the threshhold o f prac
tical mil itary applications. " Cit
ing ' 'the successful shooting
down of a dro ne aircraft with a

Week said that there are several
"i mmediate , largely tactical ap
plications for which laser thermal
weapons appear feasible . "
These include defense against
lo w fly ing aircraft, missiles which
use TV scanners or other optical
devices for guid ance, and even
'spy-in-the-sky ' satellites.
Also possi ble is the use of
lasers as an anti-I C BM weapon . A
sufficiently "hot " beam could
damage a missile enough to make
it miss its target ; an even ho tter
beam might si mply melt the
whole thing into a lump of ex
pensive junk. With its powerful
disintegrating ray travelling at
light speed ( 1 8 6 ,000 miles per
se c o n d), m issile interception
would be almost instantaneous
"see it and bum it, " in effect .
The laser rav would also elim
inate the need for arming an
anti-ballistic missile with a nu
clear warhead , thus doing away
with the danger of ' friendly ' radi
ation fallout.
Could such a ray weapon al
ready exist? According to A vi
ation Week : "High-energy Army
lasers have punched fist-sized

Webster 's dictionary defines
"several " as " more than two , "

ing " is generally conceded to be

sized holes " in materials of that
sort at ranges of a fifth of a mile
or more is not a laboratory toy .

with the aid of a laser beam if

achieved output levels of hun

The laser was invented in
1 9 60 ; clearly we have come a

far will we have gone by, say ,

Another use of the laser may
hold yet another clue to the
action of UFOs. Several maga
zines have written of military
research into laser rangefinders,
unlike radar, whose pulsations
can be picked up by sophis
ticated electronic receiving de
vices, a laser beam is virtually
undetectable . Laser height
finding devices on aircraft, for
example, would enable a plane to
fly swiftly at very low altitudes
-well below the minimum oper
ating height for radar and anti
a i r c raft weapons . The non

USA F bomber, as well as the
B r i t ish TR-2 fighter-b omber,
were intended to fly "on the
deck , " well below radar beams .
Even at high subsonic speeds,
thereby avoiding the noise of a
sonic boom , such a craft would
flash from hori zon to horizon

more than shout in alarm . Cam
era equipped U FO sighters have
repeatedly spoken of the " blind
ing speed " displayed by low fly
ing U FOs as they vanished over

the high-speed, low-level flight
needed to frustrate observers.
The final link in our
laser/U FO j igsaw puzzle may
have been provided by George
Chatham 's speculations in A stro
nau tics and A eronau tics on de
fense against laser beams. Con
ventional armor protects by ab
sorbing the energy of a projec
tile ; that is, it sto ps the missile
by the sheer bulk of the CU"mor
" soaking up " the heat generated
by the impact of the missile . The

Recently I was visiting several
friends, and as we sat around the
fireplace, the lid on the stereo
which norm ally stands in an
upright position slammed shut
with a bang. Everyone was
startled, as there had been no
visible movement in the room to
cause such a crash . I calmly
explained, "That was Carol. "
I had never believed in what
seemed to. be fairy tales,
contrived stories or im possible
events-until I met Carol.
Caroi and I were roo m mates
during three of our college years.
Carol was bright, witty and
attractive. She had only one
quirk-she always seemed to be
in the wrong place at an unwise
moment, and she reported past
dream s which she stated had
becom e reality. Her stories used
to be very entertaining, until I
realized she was not trying to be
a com edienne and until I had the
opportunity to witness some of
her experiences.
One afternoon Carol and I
were wandering through one of
our larger drugstores. Several
patrons walked past a tall stack
of coffee m ugs on display . I
walked past the display . Carol
strolled gently past the stack,
and j ust at that instant, the mugs
toppled to the floor and
shattered. I had watched Carol
pass by , and she had not been
near enough to have had any
bodily contact with the display .
A short time later, Carol and I
went out for a pizza with several
girls from our dorm . One by one
we wal ked through the narrow
passageway formed by the wall
of the building and an old
autom obile parked against the
curb. When Carol walked past
the vehicle , all of a sudden one
of the headlights literally popped
out of the socket and was left

hanging by one wire . Everyone
laughed--except Carol.
And then there was the time
we went to the small corner
drugstore after our classes were
over for the week . We had
deliberately dropped off our
books and purses at the dorm . I
thumbed through a stack of
records, and since I did not find
anything of interest, I moved
over to the next stack and Carol
too k my place . Suddenly she
pulled out a notebook which
someone had left in the stack of
records. I thought it quite odd
that I had overlooked it. Carol
wanted to take it to the front
counter in case the owner
re turned, but I suggested looking
on the c over to see if there was a
name or address on it . And sure
enough , there was a name
Carol 's name. She looked at m e ,
and I reassured h e r w e had
walked into the store completely
empty-handed . Furthermore , the
notebook she fo und was from a
class from a previous semester.
We had thought the notebook
was neatl y packed away in our
closet. I almost laughed, Carol
didn 't .
But finally , the happen ing
occurred. Late one afternoon I
was sitting in front of my
typewriter, and my normally
strong and health y m other
telephoned to advise me that she
was going into the hospitl for
some minor tests . Carol knew my
family, and after the conver
sation , I returned to my .desk and
was th inking I would tell Carol
about my mother. But I had to
th ink of a way to tell her so she
would not get nervous, as she
had a common tendency to
bec9me worried . Just then Carol
entered th e room . I looked u p
and noticed she looked a bit
pale. I started to say , " Carol,
don 't get scared, but . . . " and she
cut my words off by shouting,
"What 's wrong with your
mother? " How did she know
something was wrong with my
mother? It would have made
more sense if she had thought
something had happened to my
grandmother, who had been ill at
the time. This time, we looked at
one another, and neither of us
laughed.
And now, four years later, I
knew that Carol had m ade the

and I sat around telling tales of
our strange experiences. I had
just finished telling them about
Carol , and even though I had not
seen her or spoken with her for
four years, I realized she had not

penings were accepted by most
people as a norm al part of
everyday life, our family tended
to be pretty skeptical, so I was
not a convinced believer. H ow
ever, I was Rot a complete
" unbeliever" either. I guess you
could have called me an agnostic
about the existence of ghosts.
But not any more .
What caused me to change my
m ind was the fact that our
newly-built house turned out to
be haunted . It is a benign
haunting, to be sure, but there
are things happening around hre
for which I cannot find any
natural explanation .

have lived in several parts of
Europe and Canada. Three years

the same at all periods; yet this
may not be the case . . In certain
areas the magnetic field of a
planet itself is stronger or is
shaped in some unusual way-as
found over a natural vortex, for
instance. Thus the pattern would
vary during flight, the crew main

wished by the pilot.
Perhaps, in what our visitors
call their " old days, " they had to
be proficient at mental arith
metic and quick at following
magnetic charts they have of the
majo rity of reachable and explor
able planets. If he did not make
the correct calculations fast
enough, compensating for mag
netic alterations, he would soon
find his precious ship taken off
course. Current systems devised
and in use could be extremely
simple and scrap the need for
pilots being graduates in mathe

To do this, space travellers first
energise it with a d irect current,
and in so doin g create an addi
tional field that enhances the
main power field and adds great

Explanation is difficult and
almost impossible of the con
structional d etails of this coil, for
we are inclined to give the wrong
meaning to the right words. Let
us say it is fundamentally a coil
designed to produce a tubular
rotating field around the coil. In
brief: the field and the coil are
concentric circular tubes, one
within the other. The spaceship
is still on the ground, so the nxt
step is to transmute this circular
field into one of resonating mag
netic force . This is done in two

ways. The first is to raise the
intensity of the field and super
impose pulsing current in the coil
instead of direct current. This is
no ordinary pulsing current as
known on Earth , made by vi
brators or instigated by oscil
lators. It is a pulse with an
inherent vibrational rate of one
and three-quarter million cycles
per nanno-second . The actual
on-off pulse d oes not have to be
very fast. The p ilot usually be
gins with fifty cycles a second,
then .slowly speeds up the pulse
to about 1 00 ,000 cycles per sec
ond.
There is much more to be
kno wn concerning the properties
and qualities of resonating mag
netic force , naturally . This is
doubt1ess one of the absolute
"give-aways" that could en
danger flying friends by hostility
from Earth antagonists-whom
they c o n t inue to love as
brothers-so further data on that
particular aspect of Universal
power must be withheld . Perhaps
when Man on Earth breaks
through barriers of exciting new
dimensions and discovers the
potential lurking j u st beyond un
derstandable thresholds in har
nessable power sources, he will
by virtue of deeper hum ility be
able fully to grasp the innate
simplicity of resonating magnetic
force. Similar resonating pulses
are applied to coils three and
four-the secondary pulsing coils.
This causes interaction between
the fields, and so beat oscil
lations are set up . The wave
forms so generated extend at the
upper sections of the spaceship.
As the field is changed by the
differing rates of the secondary
pulsing coils, this wave is moved
downward and thus di storts the
magnetic and resonating m ag- .
netic fields of the Earth-or any
planet-in such a manner that the
aeroform is moved vertically or
in any desired direction by the
latent tendency of the planetary
field to return to sta tus q uo after
being greatly distorted by the
craft.
What can we make of the
fo llowing assertion , assuming
that it comes from an extrater
restrial as alleged by a contactee
kn own to the author? Might
there be harsh truth in it, known
to governmental officials and de
partments who shrewdly investi
gate the U FO enigma while
blandly assuring the people s of
our planet that "there is no such
thing"? Here it is : "There is far
more to celestial spacecraft than
meets the ey e. Many of your
Earth air forces have captured by
force a few craft and-in some
cases-they have the crews as
well . In one case the craft was
unharmed by the forced landing,
and your scientists set to work to
see what made it operate. Some
of the top brains of the country
were called in to ex amine the
spaceship. A team of psy ch ol
ogists began trying to unravel the
mind of the captain of the craft.
" He is a close friend of mine,
and they attempted quite unsuc
cessfully to get from him the
secret of the ' saucer . ' They
would not make it work them
selves, but when he ws taken
aboard , he could get it to fly .
This puzzled them enormously .
Of course, h is vibrational rate
was so much faster than theirs,
and h is presence in the spaceship
raised the vibration rate of cer
tain co mponents, enabling them
to function normally . They
threatened him and bullied h im ,
b u t t o no avail-and i n the end
they let him go. Once they freed
him, he disap peared before their
eyes. We had beamed him home

not, it seems that at last a break
through of sorts h as been made,
and the secret of free energy
been given to Mankind for the
motivation of spacecraft. He now

he chooses to call his "levity

centered on a line between the
Yankee Two ( m andatory report
i n g point) and Grand Turk Is
land. It extends to the south to
within six m iles of the Cuba
international boundary ; to the
west and north to include the
island of San Salvador ; then east
to a point about 2 5 0 m iles north
east of Grand Turk Island ; and
then south to a point about 2 0 0
miles east-southeast of the island
of Grand T urk . The primary
search area along the airways was
covered by search aircraft from
five to seven times . Search
efforts were carried on contin
uously for five days.
Commander Joseph Lingle of
440 Troop Carrier Wing sta
tioned at Billy M itchell Field ,
M ilwaukee, Wise . , in a letter of
explanation to the parents of the
m issing crewmen , stated : "Col
onel Dereszynski , the Wing Vice
Commander, who was in Miami
while the search was being con
ducted, and I, based upon my
visit to Miami on the Sunday
after the search was called off,
are both convinced that the
search effort conducted would
have found our men, if they had
been anywhere in the area on the
ocean in a life raft . The airplane
carried 1 2 one-man life rafts and
two 20-man rafts. Survival with
out a raft, in the sea conditions
that prevailed during most all of
the search period, was considered

to be almost an impossiblity . "
L ingle continued, "During
most of the search perio d, from
early Sunday m orning, 6 June
1 96 5 , until the following Thurs
day, the weather condition in
most of the search area was not
favorable, even for survivors in
life rafts. Showers, sea squalls,
winds 20-3 0 knots, and waves up
to nine feet were reported by
many search airplanes.
"In spite of the poor weather,
Captain Solberg of the United
States Coast Guard, the overall
search director, was positive that
a 20-man raft would have been
sighted within the area covered.
He was over 90-percent positive
that a one-man life raft would
have been sighted in the search
areas covered.
"The very unfavorable sea
conditions existing for survival,
even in a raft, and the fact that
absolutely nothing idntifiable as
being from the airplane was
sighted in the five days of inten
sive air searching, were maj or rea
sons why Admiral Thayer, Cap
tain Solberg's superior, termi
nated the active air search effort
on June 1 0 , 1 96 5 .
"Before leaving' the subject of
the search effort , I should also
tell you that all ships and other
airplanes passing along the route
of the missing airplane are being
instructed to be on the watch
and to report immediately any
sign of wreckage from our air
plane. Several reports of aircraft
debris have been received, but to
date nothing that can in any way
be identified as being from the
airplane has been sighted . "
Aircraft debris found o n Ack
lins Island was termed as. the first
significant clue in the search for
the m issing C-1 1 9 Flying Boxcar.
A C-1 1 9 dust o il cooler excluder,
a piece of broken plywoo d , an9. a
red lam p bulb were fo und by
Harry Kline of the Nassau Minis
try of Tourism . They were re
turned to Milwaukee for possible
identification w ith the lost air
craft.
Lingle said the dust excluder
is definitely from a C-1 1 9 . How
ever, there is no way of identify
i n g it a s being part o f any partic
ular airplane . Th e broken piece
of plywood has been identified
as from a box similar to those
which exist at other Air Force
locations .
Lingle asked the C oast Guard
to conduct a search of the area in
which the d ust excluder and the
piece of plywood were found .
The debris was located on
Acklins Island about 1 0 m iles
southwest of the route flown by
the aircraft, and about 20 m iles
from the last known reporting
point, Yankee Two . Acklins Is
land is in the Bahamas Island
Gro up and is located 4 50 miles
southeast o f M iami, Fla.
Each time an Air F orce air
plane is m issing and presumed
down because o f fuel exhaustion ,
an Accident Investigation Board
is appointed for the purpose of
determining the cause of the loss
of the airplane. The loss of an
airplane that is missing is consid
ered an accident, since there is
no evidence that it landed safely
anywhere . .
Accident Investigation Boards
are obliged to conduct a thor
ough investigation of all the cir
cumstances lead ing up to any
aircraft accident. All aspects of
the flight of 5 1 -2 6 8 0 were inves
tigated .
The aircraft took off a t Mil
waukee at 1 0 5 1 CDT , on June 5,
1 96 5 . It was presumed down
from fuel exhaustion at 044 7
E ST on June 6 , 1 96 5 .
The maintenance re cords o f
the airplane were also checked,
as were the qualifications and
training records of all of the
aircrew . The gas oline with wh ich
the airp lane was refueled at
Homestead A FB was analyzed .
The weather a t the time o f
the loss o f the airplane was deter
mined not to be a factor. Other
airplanes flew through the area
before and after th e missing air
craft d id , and reported m.9stly

graphs from the weather satellite,
TIROS. Bad weather did move
into the area from the east on
Sunday morning, and hampered
search efforts for the next few
days, but weather was not a
factor at the time of the air
plane's disappearance.
Commander Lingle's letter of
explanation to the bereaved rela
tives stated: "In summary, in
spite of detailed investigation
into the facts and circumstances
ounmng the dhappce of
our airplane, we have been able
to find no clue whatever as to
why it 4isappeared. "
Bureau officials directed a let
ter to each of the parents or wife
of each of the missing airmen. Of
the 1 0 letters, four were returned
'addresses unknown', as the ad
dresses were several years old. No
response was received from four.
Responses from two were re
ceived.
First to respond was Mrs.
Florence Gares, m other of 1 st
Lt . Lawrence Gares, the pilot.
She stated that she was glad
that someone was interested in
the disappearance of her son . All
the Air Force said outside the
letter of explanation, was that,
"all they can say is that they
have no idea what happened."
Mrs. Gares continued, "I felt bad
about the mystery, so I decided
to fly where they were last heard
from . I flew to Crooked Island,
where I met some natives. " Mrs.
Gares added, '"'They wouldn't
have much to do with me, as
they have seen very few white
people. I think I was about the
third white woman that some of
them had seen.
"I paid a native $3 to take me
25 m iles to Ackins Island, where
I stayed t hree w eeks .
"They said they heard the
C-1 1 9 as it was passing over the
island. What happened after that
I guess no one knows. I would do
anything and go anywhere if I
could locate my son or any of
the 1 0 men. "
Mrs. Gares supplied the Bu
reau with the address of the
m other of John Lazenby , who
boarded the C-1 1 9 at Homestead
AFB. Fla.
B u reau officials contacted
Mrs. Jessie Lazenby, who is a
school teacher. She stated that
she had not heard of any devel
opments and added, "I am very
glad that someone is interested in
the incident. "
Today , eight years after the
unexplained incident, what hap
pened to 5 1 -2680 is not known .
In addition, the UFO that was
photographed the day before by
the astonauts on Gemini. 4 has
not been explained.
One cannot help but wonder
if the C-1 19 was captured by the
UFO . And for what reason? 0

community in Nova Scotia,
settled down and built a house
here. We have been doing most
of the work ourselves, so it is not
yet fully finished, though we
have been living in it for two
years. The land was farmland
abandoned for about forty years
when we bought it, and it is
overgrown with scrub and wild
apple trees, but it is a very pretty
hillside spot with a magnified
view of the sea, and we love it;
my wife, especially .
Shortly after we had moved in
and things were in a more or less
livable condition, my wife
reported hearing things-bumps,
knocks and other noises for
which she could find no
reasonable explanation. But hav
ing grown up in Scandinavia in a
family well endowed with
psychic powers, she was not
worried and accepted it as
normal. When she told me about
it, I laughed and said that there
must be a natural explanation

and she would say , "I heard the
ghost again today ," I would give
the customary husbandly grunt
and continue reading the paper:
A few time when I was alone and
sometimes . when we were both
present, I h eard strange sounds
but blamed them on the wind or
some other natural phenomenon.
Then one evening last autumn
she told me she had ben in the
basement in the afternoon while
the children were at school and
had heard footsteps upstairs in
the bedroom as if someone were
going leisurely about his natural
business. "Contented " was the
way my wife described the
sound. She went upstairs think
ing that she might have lEtft a
door open and that a neighbour
had come in, as they som etimes
do here where doors are seldom

the old man who used to live on

B y that time I was half
convinced that there was some
thing unexplained going on, but
we dropped the subject, and I
thought little m ore about it for
som e time.
Now we are church-going
Anglicans ( Episcopalians) , and it
was shortly after this occurrence
that we had our priest come in
one evening and bless the house .
Not everyone has this done, of
course, but my wife wanted it,
and I couldn 't see that it would
do any harm . I wonderly idly if
it might cause the unseen
presepce to depart.

Instead, I believe it strength
ened his attach m ent, for it was
not long after the blessing that
my wife reported hearing music .
At first she thought a radio had
been left on and went from room
to room checking. They were all
turned off, but the music
continued . When she told me
about it, I said, " Nuts ! One of
the neighbours m ust have had h is
radio turned up and left a
window open . It was calm
enough today to hear music for
miles. "
" N o , "she said. " I even went
outside but couldn't hear any
thing. It was definitely in the
house , and it didn't come from
any of our radios or record
players or the TV. "
It was only a couple of weeks
later that I heard the music
myself. It was . a Saturday
afternoon. My daughter and I
were the only ones home , and we
were both sitting reading at the
kitchen table. The house was
quiet and peaceful when sud
denly she said, "Dad , do you
hear that music? "
" Yes, " I said . "Did one of
you kids leave a radio on ? "
"No , " she replied. "Theres
not a radio going anywhere in
the house . "
I sat back down , and we
listened and heard it again . The
sound was faint and very
difficult to describe, but it was
undoubtedly music . It was not
melodic "in the sense that there
was any tune that one could
whistle or hum ; yet it was not
discordant. There were no high
nor lo w notes; yet there was
variation. There was no melody ;
yet it was melodious. It came
from nowhere ; y et it seemed to
come from everywhere. It
vaguely reminded me of a horn
in one of the big-name bands of
the nineteen-forties, but it was
not exactly like the sound of any
instrument I have ever heard . I
can only repeat my wife's
description of the footsteps and
say it was con ten ted music that
conveyed an - almost tangible
feeling of absolute satisfaction
and pleasure
We listened - for a while, then
returned to our reading with the
music as background. Neither of
us noted when it stopped ; so we
cannot say how long it lasted,
but I am certain it was n ot less
than five minutes.
What was it? I have no jdea,
but my wife and I have discussed
the happenings and can only
th e o ri z e that someone or
someth ing occupies our home
with us and that someone or
something is happy here .
Whether it is the spirit of . a
person who lived here previously
who is glad to see the land lived
on again or perhaps someone
who used to sit up here in the
afternoons drinking in the view
we cannot tell. We only know
that there is - something other
than ' us four m ortals in this
house. We have no objection to
the presence, and we are quite
willing to share our home with it

I took four or five shots-there
were twelve exposures on the

shot, the camera would not func
tion . I t 's an expensive camera

der before the meeting, and yet
it jammed .
This was j ust the first of many
visits I 've h ad with Uri . On sever
al occasions I 've gone over to his
Manhattan apartment an d inter
viewed him at length . Once I
brought a magnet-a very power
ful magnet-with me because Uri
had said he could readily de
ma t e rialize and rematerialize
magnets. But this particular day
he was pressed for time and
decided he wouldn 't try to de
materialize the magnet . S o I put
it on a pillow on my side of the
room, out of Uri 's reach com ..
pletely, and started the inter
view.
After abo ut 35 minutes, we
began talking about energy and
matter, precipitation , astral pro
jecti o n , m a n i fe s t a t i ons of
thought transference and fre

They stopped functioning entire
ly despite the fact that I 'd just -
put them in especially for th is

Next the magnet broke apart
and flew about the room . Re
n1ember that Uri was on the

not have touched it, even had he

neither of us was even think ing

Still this strong, thick magnet

we had hit a subject in the
interview which a higher intelli

tive planet in our solar system, in

Even our physical bodies are
basically primitive and though
we thin k we 're the highest form
of intellect on this earth , we are
not.

intervention of higher intelli
gence.
After the inciden t with the
magnet, Uri and I decided we 'd
better n ot go back and pick up
where 'we 'd left o ff in the discus
sion about energy and matter.
Instead , we discussed some inves
tigations currently in progress
with Uri at Cambridge University
in En gland , under th e guidance
of D r. Ed ward Bastin . The effect
of these investigations is th t
where Ein stein left off, Uri Gel
ler h as picked up. In other
words, some calc ulations and
equations th at have come from
Uri 's fingertips, you might say in
the form of auto matic writing,
amaze the brilliant scholars at
Cambridge . This is what they 've
said : " This is where E instein left
off; Uri Geller is picktng up . "
Now where is Uri getting this
from? I believe he is getting it
solely from higher intelligence.
I believe man himself does not
co me up with the idea for any
thing. Instead he attunes to a
frequen cy vibration with already
is. He picks up the ball, so to
speak , and then he runs with it.
In my estimation-and you can
accept or reject this-everything
in existence h as been recorded ,
past and future . In o ther words,
our futures are recorded and we
just have to catch u p to them .
Consequently , a person who h as
precognitive powers to see into
the future is j ust attuning his
frequency into the future .
As a jumping-off place to in
vestigate and explain Uri Geller's
powers, I would like to postulate
the following.
I th ink that if scientists today
would spend more time investi
gating the personal harmonic
structure of an individual's body
-meanin g his . own frequency vi
bration-calibrating this vibration
to that, _say , of an inan imate
object which vibrates at a much
slower rate, they would then
understand how a person can
fonn , with his own mind , an
affinity with the slower vibra
tional rate . Fro m there , the next
step is to , function into that
particular vibrational state-the
lower rate of vibrations-of say , a
spoon or a key or a ruler, what
ever it may be-which means that
on e wo uld be able to affect the
object. Everything in the uni
verse gives off vibrations, higher

graphed . Thoughts are vibrations,
which are energy, and energy can

consciousness also set up differ

Uri Geller is here now for one
particular reason . May be many
more , but right now his purpose
is to sh ow the people of the
world that these pheno mena can

course , means h igh ly advanced

Higher intelligence can come

During my most recent session
with Uri , we were do ing so me
tho ugh t photography where the
lenscap o f the camera-a very
thick , black , o paq ue lenscap
through which no light can pene
trate-was taped to the camera
len s. Uri proje cted his image
right through the black cap and
onto the film plate itself. This
feat was duplicated during Uri 's
visit to England . He can either
hold the camera and photograph
himself this way or another per
son can take a picture of him as
he projects his thought through .
The last experiment we d id
th is day was I started drawing
pictures for Uri to pick up by
mental telepathy . I realized that
if I drew the pictures quite large
that perhaps he could see th e
arm move ment ai\ d surmise what
the drawin g was just by watching
the movement. So I made my
drawi ngs very small and very
concise . Also , I drew subjects
that were far from simple-a
metaphy sical design , a sp acecraft
hovering over a certain field, a
man stand ing in Stonehenge-all
in detail . Usually people draw
triangles or c ircles or other
sim ple forms. But w ith Uri, in
each case I proj ected the
com pli cated im age of what I 'd
drawn, and he pic ked up each
one exactly !
Can a magician do this? I
wan t to see him do it !
But beyond the physical man
ife stations that Uri uses to dem
onstrate his powers is the more
impo rtant spiritual element. I be
lieve the spiritual link that Uri is
demonstrating is very , very cru
cial now because we 're leaving
one age , the Piscean age and
go ing into the Aquarian age, th e
age of en lighten ment and awak
en ing . I further believe that a
crisis, a turning point for the
world and for manki nd is close at
hand .

For an exercise sit with your
eyes wide open, looking about
you, and realize that this
moment represents the po int of
your power, through which you
can affect both past an d future
events.
The present seen before you,
with its intimate physical exper
ience , is the result of action in
o ther such presents . Do not be
intimidated therefore by th e past
or the future . There is no need at
all for undesirable aspects of
your contemporary reality to be
projected into the future un less
you use the power of the present
to do so .
If you learn to get hold of this
feeling o f power now , you can
use it most effectively to alter
your life situation in whatever
way you choose-again, within
those limitations set by your
creaturehood . If you were born
without a lim b , for example,
your power in the present cannot
automatically regenerate it in
th is life, although in other
systems of reality you do possess
that limb .
Exterior conditions can al
ways be changed if you
understand the principles of
which I am speak ing. Diseases
can be eliminated , even those
that seem fatal-but only if the
beliefs behind them are erased or
altered enough so that their
specific focusing effect upon the
body is sufficiently released . The
present as you th ink of it, and in
practical working terms, is that
point at which you select your
physical experience from all

knowledge grows, so your
experience becomes more fulfill

way , or that there are not peaks
and valleys. Each aspiration
presupposes the admission of a
lack , each challenge presupposes
a barrier to be overco:p1e. The
more adventurous will often
choos_e greater challenges, and so

achieve and their present status
can seem to be im possible .
In each case, however, the
poin t of po wer is the present,
and from that m oment you
choose which you, and which
world. The experience of a
country is the cumulative result
of the choice of each individual
in it, so as you choose your own
circumstances you affect each
other person within your coun
try and your world .
In m any "nativ e " cultures an
individual is not considered in
terms of his age at all , and the
num bering of years is regarded as
insignificant. In fact, a m an
may not know h is age as you
think of it. It would do you all
good-young, m iddle-aged and
old alike-to forget the number
of your years, because in your
culture so m any beliefs are
lim iting in tho se ways. Y outh is
denied its wisdom and o ld age is
denied its j oy .
T o pre tend t o ignore your
age, to act young because you
fear your age, is no answer. In
your term s, y our point of reality
and power is, o nce m ore , in y o ur
current experience . A realization
of this would allow you at any
age to draw upon qualities and
knowledge that "existed " in
the past. or "will exist " in your
future . Y O!Jr ages are pro bable.
Although time does not
basically exist as you "know" it,
you are . neurologically forced to
perceive your life as a series of
passing moments. As creatures
you are born young and grow
older. Yet the animals, as
creatures, are not as limited in
their experience in that regard .
They have no beliefs in o ld age
that automatically shut down
their abilities; so left alone, while
they do physic ally die as all
creatures must in those terms,
they do not deteriorate in the
same way .
You do not understand the
comm unications between your
selves and pets , for example,
where in their own way they
interpret and react to your
beliefs. They mirror y our ideas,
then , and so become vulnerable
as they would not be in their
natural circumstances . In greater
terms their relationship with you
is natural, of course , but their
innate realization that the
creature's p oint of power is in
the present is to some degree
undermined by their own recep
tivity and translation of your
beliefs . A young kitten is treated
differently than an older one.
The cat responds to such
conditioning. In the same way ,
your own conclusions about age
become fact in your experience.
In line with them , if you could
convince yourself that you were
ten years yoll:nger, or ten years
o lder, then it would be faithfully
reflected in your personal en
vironment.
If you were twe n ty you

wisdom you imagine you would

If you were sixty you would
be able to use the physical
strength you imagined was
denied you now, but available
then . All of this would be
physically and biolo gically ex
pressed within your body as well.
Which you? Which world? If
you are lonely , it is because you
believe in your loneliness in this
present point that you acknowl
edge as time . From what seems
to be the past you draw only
those m emories that reinforce
your conditions, and you proj ect
tho se into the future . Physically
you are overwhelming your body
as it responds to a state of
loneliness through chemical and
hormonal reactions . Y ou are also
denying your own point of
action within the present.

you change your beliefs it will
quickly become swamped again
by your feelings of depression. In
