THE DOUGHNUT
Although most people (think / are thought) that the doughnut originally came from America, they are
wrong. The delicious fried, round cake (invented / was invented) in Holland in the 16th century.

dropped in sugar after frying. It was very popular with the Dutch people. At that time there (was/were)
