Assignment
1. Use a Double Bubble Map to compare and contrast two of the California missions on
a large chart paper.
a. You will be assigned a California mission at random and you may choose the other
California mission of your choice. However, if you choose two from the same area
(i.e. San Luis Rey de Francia and San Juan Capistrano, which are both southern
California missions) your emphasis must be on the differences.
b. If you choose one from two different areas (i.e. San Francisco de Solano from
northern California and San Diego de Alcal from Southern Colonies) your emphasis
must be on the similarities. The point that you need to make are either Despite the
fact that two were from the same group there were significant differences, or
Despite the fact that the two were from different groups, there were significant
similarities.
2. Cite Sources on the map, outside the bubbles. You will cite the sources you used to find
the information: textbook, Internet website, or additional books.
3. Use the map to present your information. There is no formal written assignment with
this project. You will use the Double Bubble Map as your guide and visual while presenting
orally to the class.
4. NOTE: Tardy projects. One point will deducted for each day project is late.
