How to Cite Sources for your Mixed Media Project

- Provide the citation for your source above each journal entry.

- MLA formatting uses hanging indents. This means that the first line of the citation is closest to
the margin and all lines that follow it are indented (see examples below). To create a hanging
indent DONT do a lot of tabbing. Instead, highlight the citation, select paragraph special
hanging in Word.

- If youve used more than one source for a journal article, list the citations alphabetically.

- You may have to do some digging around online or in your podcast app to find all of the
necessary information.

- When you are citing a quote from your media, it must be followed by an internal citation. An
internal citation uses the first piece of the citation (either the authors last name or the episode
title) and a page number or time. Examples:
