Honestly, I do not know much about ASEM, even I just heard it.

I am very interested in all the

information that exists around the world, developments in all fields, be it education, economics,
technology, government, state defense, health and others. I love to read developments that take
place outside my country, events that are happening around me and out of my reach. As I read the
social media announcement that ASEF will hold an 8th Model Asem and give an opportunity to
become a young diplomat delegate at ASEM, I am very interested and start digging information
about ASEM and ASEF.

After digging up information about ASEM, I feel this is the right event for me. I will get the
opportunity to master the skills of public speaking, negotiation, team-work, problem solving, policy,
advocacy and consensus-building. I will have the rare chance to meet and interact with ASEM
Foreign Ministers and Delegation members as well as with representatives of ASEM Diplomatic
Missions and International Organisations. Enhance my understanding of Asia-Europe collaboration
and the ASEM process. I feel ASEM will be a right place to deliver my aspirations.

In addition, the theme of 8th model asem this time is education. I am an educator in the country
where I live. In addition to educators, I am also active in social activities under the auspices of ADRF
(Asia-Africa Destitute Relief) that focus on education and the health of children. Therefore, I feel that
everything I will get from ASEM activities will contribute personally to me and my social
environment. I hope to get new information that I can bring home for my students and my social
environment. Moreover, I hope to get links in Asian or European countries to develop other
programs that can have a positive impact for youth in my country.

I hope that after my return from ASEM, I can transmit the spirit of diplomacy to young people in my
country. I look forward to sharing my valuable experience in ASEM with young people so as to
motivate and interest diplomacy. As much as possible I will promote ASEF activities to be known by
many public. Because I'm sure there are still many people out there who do not know about ASEF
and its programs like I was before. It is unfortunate that ASEF's positive activities are known only to a
small percentage of the public. I will also maintain good relationships with participants and
delegates from ASEM countries. I also hope, upon my return from ASEM, I can be an initiator for
young people to create communities that are programmed into diplomatic activities. I am sure if I
participate in ASEM, what I get from these activities can be the forerunner of me being an initiator in
my country.
