14 Mandatory Competences of CIWEM to the Engineering Council;

Society for the Environment and Science Council

INTRODUCTION

Professionals can seek membership of CIWEM as Fellows or Chartered Members and also
seek additional registrations with external bodies as follows:

Chartered Engineers (CEng) or Incorporated Engineers (IEng), with Engineering Council.

Chartered Scientists (CSci), with the Science Council.
Chartered Environmentalists (CEnv), with the Society for the Environment.
(Appropriately qualified applicants may wish to apply for more than one external
registration).

This document illustrates how the 14 CIWEM Mandatory Competences match to those of
the Engineering Council (CEng and IEng), Science Council (CSci) and Society for the
Environment (CEnv). This is to ensure that applicants demonstrate the appropriate
external competences through their responses to the CIWEM Mandatory Competences.
