Production Elements
Interview clips - Invu
Interviewer - person asking the question
Interviewee - person(s) answering the questions
Interviews provide story content
Connects the interviewee to the story
Interview a variety people directly involved
Multiple sources provides multiple perspectives
Students, teachers, admin
Duration of clips - usually 3 secs. - 20 sec. (max.)
You are actively listening for clips during interviews
Be prepared with engaging questions (5Ws and How)
Production Elements
Reporter On-Camera
Reporter is seen on-camera in the shot as they report
Sometimes Reporter is not seen at all during a story

Sometimes reporter introduces and/or wraps-up the story

Reporter provides additional information


not covered in interviews

Gives the reporter a presence in the story


Caution: Reporter is not a part of the story
facts vs. personal opinion
builds viewer familiarity and trust
