Course Objectives:
To introduce major topics and subspecialties including findings that have served to define field of psychology
To comprehend the basic processes and concepts of applied psychology at work place.
To allow participants to explore ways in which work-life success can be improved through the benefits of Psychology.

Prerequisites:
The student should have the basic understanding of human behavior.

Demonstrates an overview about the implication of psychology in organization


Illustrates the applied concepts of psychology at workplace.
Understands an outline for work-life success through the benefits of psychology

The science of psychology, psychology and common sense, the beginnings of modern psychology,
psychology today, techniques, tactics and tools.
2 Module II: Brain and behavior 10%

Neurons, synapses, Nervous system and glands

3 Module III Principles of cognitive process 20%

Thinking,: thinking process, problem solving, decision making and creative thinking, principles of
learning and cognitive learning, memory models and amnesia , memory

4 Module IV Emotions, stress and psychological well being. 10%

Descriptors/Topics

Expression and perception of emotions, Intelligence quotient, Emotional quotient, social quotient and
spiritual quotient, stress and stressors, psychological well being.

5 Module V Personality and social perception, influence and relationships 20%

Theories of personality, nature-nurture, impression formation, attribution, conformity, obedience and


interpersonal attraction.

6 Module VI: Motivation, job satisfaction and job involvement 20%

7 Module VII: Contemporary issues in work psychology 10%
