PSHEE

During our Form Time this week we have been looking at Bullying and what to do if you
feel you are being bullied. This has be tackled in a variety of ways by the different year
groups and each task has be selected for an appropriate age group. The focus of our
Form Time for next week will be the creation of a School Council which should provide the
children with a platform to have more input into the running of the school. Hopefully the
children we be excited by this and will tell you all about it throughout next week.

JUNIOR LIBRARIANS WANTED

In assembly today, I asked if any of the
children in Years 6 & 7 would like to be
Junior Librarians this year.
The job involves spending one lunchtime
each week in the library, assisting our
library ladies. Books need to be scanned in,
shelves need tidying, suggestions for library
displays are always welcome.
If the children would like to apply for the
job, they simply need to write to me telling
me why they think they would make a good
Junior Librarian and which lunchtimes they
could offer to help.
Any letters of application should be with me
by Tuesday 19th September.

CROSS COUNTRY
The first cross country run of the 2017-18
season
We were joined by Old Tockingtonian, William
Christofi who had earlier talked to our Junior
pupils about his journey in cross country and
his recent debut for the Great Britain U23 team
that won a bronze medal in the European
Championships in Sardinia.
The outstanding performances of the day were
from Zac Rowles who ran a PB in 9 mins 26 secs
on the Junior course, and from Freddie Cooper
who led the Year 7 and 8s home in an impressive
12 mins 10 sec - a fast time for the first run of the
season.
The Year 5s and 7s ran their respective courses
for the first time, all coming home safely. There
were 3 new All Time list times; Katie Shutt ran a
fabulous 14 mins 57 secs on the Senior course,
Logan Fitzpatrick achieved a promising 13 mins
42 secs. Georgia Cooper ran an excellent 9 mins
47 secs on her first time out on the Junior course.
Roll on next week!
Mr Jones
