This is my 32nd year

as a Honda man.
I joined Honda in 1983 and this is my 32nd year as
a Honda man, working in the Spare Parts operation

best. Together with our parts manufacturers, 3S dealers
and global Honda associates, I will give my absolute best
field. Before coming to Malaysia, I have spent 16 years to our Malaysian Honda owners. I hope you will share this

U3-X Honda Omni Traction Drive System

By adopting ASIMOs balance control technology, Honda inventors
created the worlds first omni-directional driving wheel system*
(Honda Omni Traction Drive System) that provides the freedom of
moving in any direction, from forward, backward, side-to-side or
diagonally. The one-wheel device could control its centre of gravity
while allowing the rider to move freely in any direction simply by
shifting the upper body weight.
The Honda Omni Traction Drive System used in the U3-X
and UNI-CUB was inspired by a pencil! The inventors were
playing with a rolling pencil, which sparked an idea that a
pencil revolving side-to-side can be used to roll another pencil
forward and backward, allowing multi-directional motions at
90 angles.

MC- Micro-sized EV
The micro-sized commuter is built on a Variable Design Platform
that positions the battery, motor and control unit under the floor and
in the rear space. The concentrated driving functions in a compact
space made it possible to develop a utility-focused body and
interior. With a maximum speed of 70km/h, the MC- caters to
senior citizens and child-raising families for short distance travelling.
Feasibility studies are conducted in Japan to promote city planning
and address transportation issues in selected communities.
Honda Assist Walking Device
Innovations from the robotics studies equipped Honda
researchers with the cooperative control technology that is used
in the walking device to provide ease of walking. The device is
worn outside the clothing and is equipped with sensors to read
hip angles and activate motors that improve the walking symmetry
between both legs while extending its stride. It is being tested in
clinical researches, with the latest study being done to rehabilitate
stroke sufferers.

UNI-CUB
Experiments with the U3-X later spawned the UNI-CUB in 2012, equipped with better manoeuvrability
using a touch panel control. Further testing at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation
(Miraikan) led to the UNI-CUB , introduced in November 2013. It is smaller, lighter and incorporates softer
seats for riding comfort. The device is improved with a stand function and has a travelling range of up to 6km
(approximately 1.5 hours at the speed of 4km/h), perfect for moving around in indoor environments like offices
and commercial spaces.

As the first car to debut

Hondas maiden entry into automobile
production was focused on building a

Honda ran a massive advertising campaign
that included a contest to guess the price of
the S500. The contest generated 5.7 million
entries! If you correctly guessed 459,000
yen, you would have won a prize then!
Honda DNA | With Dreams 33 7
Honda introduced two sports cars in 1963, built
at Soichiro Hondas request. The S360 and S500
were dynamic two-seater sports car with an open
top. However, only the S500 was selected for mass
production and made history as Hondas first car.
The two-seater sports car with an open top is
equipped with Japans first DOHC (dual overhead
camshafts) automobile engine, the S500 was dubbed
an innovative car of its time.
With the S500, Honda also introduced Japans first
two-point seatbelt as a standard safety equipment.
Hondas dedicated research into a coating/painting
technology meant for automobiles led to the industrys
first anionic electrodeposition undercoating material,
a water-based material charged with negative electric
current, as used in the S500.
The S500 made its debut in white but Soichiro Honda
was already embarking on a campaign to lift Japans
ban on red vehicles, a colour reserved for fire engines.
As a result, Honda successfully launched the S600,
successor to S500, in Hondas legendary red a year
later - the first red car in Japan. S600

The Dealer Development Division was set up by Honda Malaysia in November 2011
