Specific Guidelines:
1. Groups are permitted to mix and bring music of their choice on a standard CD.
2. The Routine must be performed, in its entirety to the music selected, prepared and submitted by the
group.
3. The contest piece must be three (3) minutes but not more than five (5) minutes
4. A maximum of ten (10) and a minimum of six (6) dancers are allowed to participate.
5. Groups should include in their performance a broad selection of street dance styles (locking, popping,
bboying/bgurling (breaking), watching/punking, vogueing, house dance, party dances or club popular or
trendy dances- hip hop dance/choreography, krumping, steeping/gumboots, dancehall) without excessive
use of the same move or pattern. A varied range of styles should be shown in the choreography of arm,
leg and body movement. No body drop is allowed and all lifting should be supported.
6. Attire may include accessories such hats, caps, gloves, scarves, jewelries, etc. Removing pieces of
clothing during the performance is allowed provided it is not offensive or out of character. Appropriate
clothing should be observed in the competition.
7. Any move where the competitors weight is solely on the neck/ head i.e. head spins, head
stands,tumbling and tossing, etc. is not allowed.
8. Lifting is allowed up to the second level.
9. Music should not contain obscene lyrics or words.
10. Performers should not wear any identifying marks of their region.
11. A closed door preliminary screening/assessment will be done a day before the contest proper.
12. A violation of any of the ground rules will be subjected to disqualification.
13. Deliberation of the members of the board of judges will be done prior to the announcement of
winners.
14. Decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable. Criteria for Judging:

7. If participants fails to present their entry after the Hosts have called them twice (2) is
subjected to immediate disqualification.

competition.

3. The contest is divided into three (3) phases: the Easy, Moderate, and Difficult Phases.
6. At the end of Easy and Moderate phase, the cumulative score of each team/contestant will be
computed. Quizmaster will announce the top five (5) teams to advance to Difficult Phase. If
there is a tie for the fifth (5th) place, both will advance to the next level.
7. At the end of the contest, the group with the highest cumulative score will be declared the
Champion. The next two highest scoring teams/contestants will be declared First and Second
Runners up, respectively.
Reading Mechanics
1. Questions during the Easy and Moderate rounds will be limited to twenty (20) seconds per
question.
2. Each question will be read only once after which no repetition of the same will be done. This
is so because the question will be flashed on screen.
3. After the reading of the question, contestants shall start writing the answer after the prompt is
announced by the Quizmaster.
Answering Mechanics
1. Each TEAM contestant will be provided with official writing boards and chalk.
2. Each team will be given 20 seconds to think for the correct answer.
2. Answers must be printed legibly on the writing boards as instructed. If the question item is a
multiple choice, the answer must be written in PRINT BIG LETTERS such as A, B, C, and D.
(a)For names, indicate the first name and family name in correct spelling.
(b)For dates, write the month, day and year as required.
(c)For places, correct spelling of the names of towns and/or province as required.
(d)For courses/degree programs, the complete name of the course/program should be indicated
unless otherwise instructed.
3. Only complete answers will merit credit. Incomplete answers shall be considered wrong
answers for the identification or free-response type questions.
5. One point shall be deducted from the total score of the TEAM contestant for every violation
of any of the contest rules. Any violation will be signalled by a VIOLATION CALL which will
be done, identified and confirmed by the Officer of the Academic Contest Committee.

Protest Mechanics
1. A protest may be raised by any contestant. All protests shall be forwarded to the judges for
decision.
2. Protests regarding a particular question will be entertained only before the next question is
read. Once the next question is read, no protest regarding the previous question will be
entertained.
3. During the protest, the contestant has the privilege of consulting any reference, provided they
are relevant to the subject of the protest.
4. The COMMITTEE shall be given a maximum of two (2) minutes to resolve the protest after
which the contest shall go on. Should the COMMITTEE fail to resolve the protest within the
allotted time, the said question shall be held in abeyance until the same has been resolved.
5. The COMMITTEE will act on any concern regarding the questions and answers ONLY.
1. In case of a tie at the end of the last phase of this contest, a tie breaker will immediately ensue
and will be sudden death in nature.
2. Questions of any difficulty and type will be asked until one contestant gains an advantage in
score over the other.
3. The first contestant to gain an advantage in score will be declared the victor of the tie and will
merit the corresponding award.
Mechanics
1) Each academic and recognized organization should have at least one entry for the
competition.
3) Use of legally acquired bamboos is allowed, including wooden crafts and timbers.
4) Booth should be built in the designated places in the USeP Bislig Campus Field.

MOTIF: ELEGANCE
PURPOSE:
To search for outstanding male and female students who will serve as paragons of USePian ideals
and values encompassing the aspect of personality, beauty, talent and social responsibility.
GENERAL MECHANICS:
1. The candidates must be bona fide students of the University of Southeastern Philippines-
Bislig Campus.
2. Each program must have 1 male and 1 female candidate. The program shall be responsible
for screening the candidates in accordance to the rules and guidelines set by the Student
Government.
3. The candidates, upon the endorsement of their respective Organizational Adviser/President
must fill-in the official entry form on the date specified by the Student Government.
4. The Organizers will prepare a list of Asian countries that will be drawn by the Organizational
Adviser/President so that their candidates will know what country they will be representing.
5. Every Candidate will prepare attire for every category based on their chosen country.

6. Every program shall have two coordinators who will accompany the candidates during their
scheduled rehearsals, photo shoot and other related activities that are duly endorsed and
approved by the Organizers and the Student Government.
7. The organizing committee has the right to call the attention of the candidates in cases of any
untoward behavior that would cause disturbance of the scheduled activity.
8. The organizers/committee will not assume responsibilities for any loss or damage of items
(cash, jewelry, etc.) of the candidates.
9. In case of untoward incident that may happen, to any title holder (e.g. disqualification due to
valid reasons), the next in rank will assume the title.

After all scores for each portion have been tabulated, the top three pairs shall be announced
as finalists and they shall move on to the final round of the competition (Q and A) where scores will
be back to zero. In the final round, a common question will be asked to all finalists. After the final
round, scores will be tabulated to determine 2nd runners-up, 1st runners-up, and Mister and Miss
USeP-Bislig 2015.

1. Performance must have a minimum of two (2) minutes and a maximum of five (5) minutes.
One minute will be allowed for the preparation. Time starts from the first movement of the
candidate. One point shall be deducted from every judges score for every 10 seconds in
excess of the allotted maximum time.
2. In case of a tie, the Chairman of the Board of Judges will break the tie.
3. No back-up dancers will be allowed during the performance except for dance sports, which
requires a partner.
4. Candidates who will use music for performance should submit their tapes or CDs to the
committee in-charge a day before the talent competition. One point will be deducted from
the over-all score if the candidate fails to comply with the deadline.
5. The following are not allowed as props: fire, water, deadly weapons, and other dangerous
and explicitly offending objects.
6. Killing of animals is strictly not allowed.
7. Talent presentations must be within the bounds of moral decency and must not offend
anyones sensibilities.
8. Vulgar words/terms and indecent gestures are not allowed. The attire must justify the
chosen talent.

7. Each round is declared with a time limit as follows; 1 minute and 30 seconds for the first
and second rounds and 2 minutes limit time for round three.
8. All of the contestants shall stay in the stage will proceed at the center on the announcement
of the match-ups.
9. The Smart Talker and the Interviewer shall be judged separately.
10. During the conduct of the competition, each essay writer must abide the following
procedures:
a. On the sign Time Start now the assigned contestants will begin the process
of question and answer.
b. On the signal Times Up the assigned contestants shall end the question and
answer process.
c. Failure to meet the rules on the proper conduct of the event and any violation
of this mechanics is subject for points deduction or disqualification.
d. The decision of the Judges is final and irrevocable.

a. On the signal On Deck the contending Team shall be in the center stage
ready for the next signal.
b. Freeze shall be the next signal that will FORBID ALL MEMBERS of the
team in center stage TO MOVE for a duration of 5 seconds.
c. The next signal is ACT, this will signify the start of the acting for the given
situation for a duration of 10 seconds ONLY.
d. Another Freeze signal shall be raised at the end of the 10 seconds
performing time. This second freeze is still 5 seconds long.
e. The next signal of On Deck for the next team shall be the concluding signal
for exit.
e. Failure to meet the rules on the proper conduct of the event and any violation
of this mechanics is subject for points deduction or disqualification.
