ORIGIN OF IRANIAN DANCE: Iran was one of the ancient world's

empires, which methodically and actively was devoted to the

development of the art of dance Iranian .The origin of Iranian dance
shows that it is an the independent and distinctive art form which is
estimated to be parallel with the birth of Mithraism 2000 years
before our calendar .(Dancelessons.net, 2017).

IRANIAN CULTURAL DANCE :

Persian dance can range from court dances to energetic folk dances.
The movement vocabulary, costuming, music, demeanour, and
context of these dances also vary widely. Iran is multi ethnic country
includes many ethnicities other than the Persians themselves and
also has numerous tribal groups, Kurdish, Uzbek, Turkmen, Jewish,
Armenian, and others can be found within the borders. Each group,
each region, and each historical epoch has specific dance style. Some
form of dance is ethnic, tribal, ritualistic and therapeutic, athletic and
recreational. Some are specific to ethnic group some to men, some
to women and some to both .some dances are specific to certain
occasion and performed during that occasion. (Daniel and Mahdi,
2006)

According to Shahrazad Kursandi (Persian choreographer) the styles

of Iranian traditional dance are karevan (bandari), Ghalibaf (rugwear
dance), Be Yad-e Gilan (In Remembrance of Gilan) Chai-khooneh
(Teahouse), Baroon (Rain) and Aroosak .These styles of dance are
performed at different occasion in different location in Iran
(Dancepersian.org, 2017)

In Iran Persian dance is performed in family gathering where group

of people sit in circle on rug and two of them perform dance in
middle of circle and most of time dance is accompanied by Persian
drummer playing Bhandari beats. Persian dance is also used more
formally at various social events, like weddings. (Dr. Laurel Victoria
gray , Culture, and History, 2017).

COMPARISON: Unlike Iran, Australian culture is a western culture

and Dance is a very dynamic part of Australian performing arts
culture and Classical and contemporary dance performances are
enjoyed across Australia. Due to multicultural society Australian
dance has found under the influence European dance and other
cultures who were migrated to Australia .Due to Islamic law in Iran
dance performer dont get any support from government while in
Australia the Australia Council, has contributed to the survival and
growth of contemporary Australian dance and dance companies
since the 1960s. (Australia.gov.au, 2017)

OPINION : Cultural and traditional dance of a country represent it

whole tradition ,custom, and bright side of peoples life .Due to
political situation and tough Islamic laws the Iranian cultural dance is
disappearing from screen which needs government support ,proper
arrangement for the Iranian dance performers and promote their
cultural in different events and festivals
