Bones -

Are hard structures composed of bone tissues and minerals.

Backbone -

The backbone are fastened firmly to the skull at one end,

and the hipbones at the other end. Thus, the backbone together with the strong back muscles,

helps hold you erect.

Synovial Fluid -

Is the fluid or substance around our movable joints. This fluid keeps them moist and enable

them move smoothly.

Fixed joint -

Is a joint that does not move. When you were small, the bones of your skull did not fully come

together, as you grow up the bones in your head grow together.

Ligament -

Is a strong, cord-like material which stretches easily. Ligaments are attached to each of the bones which

form a joint. They allow the bones to move the way they should. They also protect the joint

from too much movement.

Marrow -

It is the spongy bone and soft substance inside our bone.

Compact bone -

It is the outer layer of our bones that are made of hard material.

Fracture -

Is a break in a bone as a result of injury as a result of injury or disease like tumor and osteoporosis.

Dislocation -

Is a displacement of any part especially a bone.

Complete fracture -

Occurs when the bone is completely broken.

Compound or Open Fracture -

Occurs when one or both fragments pierce the skin resulting in an open wound.

Sprain -

Is an injury in which ligaments that support the joint or the joint capsule are stretched or torn.

Arthritis and Rheumatism -


Is any abnormal condition of the joints, muscles or related tissue.

Kyposis -

Is an exaggerated backward spinal curvature characterized by a humpback appearance.

Scoliosis -

Is a lateral curvature of the central part of the spine.

Back Pain -

Is a serious physical impairment in persons of all ages, but it occurs most frequently in older persons.

Osteoporosis -

Is a metabolic disorder marked by prosperousness and fragility of the bone.

Pagets Disease -

Is characterized by a softening of the bones followed by an abnormal thickening of the bone.

Rickets -

Is a skeletal deformity caused by insufficient supply of vitamin D and lack of exposure to sunlight.

Bone Cancer -

Is caused by metastasis of cancer cells in any part of the body.
