Nosocomial infections are hospital-acquired infections that may affect the


patients health condition during treatment or after treatment that can occur
due to hospital interventions. Nosocomial infections can be transmitted
indirectly through a medical device such as a stethoscope. Behaviour of health
workes in preventing the occurrence of nosocomial infections in very
important because the impact can increase morbidity and mortality rates. This
research was conducted in RSUD dr.Slamet Garut, the purpose of this study
was to determine the description of health officer behavior in the use of
stethoscope on prevention of nosocomial infection in medical treatment room
of dr.Slamet Garut. The research method used is deskriptif that aims to obtain
a description of the behavior of health workers in the use of stethoscope on the
prevention of nosocomial infection, the sample used is 62 respondents, 59
respondents as nurses and 4 respondents as doctors using total sampling
techniques, used is a behavioral questionnaire that has been tested for validity
and reliability. The conclusion of the research result shows that almost all
respondents (79,0%)health officer behavior is categorized less, and a small
percentage of respondents (21,0%) health officer behavior are categorized
enough. Increased prevention remains to be done.
