Globalization has brought in a clear
shift from education as transmission of
expert knowledge to building learner
competencies, including learning to
learn and inculcate a lifelong learning
experience.
Teaching learning in recent decades
has made a bold shift from implicitly
to explicitly acknowledging the need of
an education system which is student
centric or at large, focused on the
quality of the outcome which serves
the true purpose of education.
Universities and educational
institution across the country have
joined the band wagon of OBE
(Outcome Based Education), which is
very direct, quality assurance
initiatives, clearly focusing and
organizing every action and purpose in
an educational system, focused on
what is essential for a diverse student
to be equally able to do successfully at
the end of their learning experiences.

In this pursuit, Department of
Mechanical and Automobile
Engineering of Christ University,
Faculty of engineering, has ventured
into a humble and persistent attempt
in unambiguously articulating the
graduate attributes and mapping the
outcomes of each course offered to the
attributes pre-defined. The
Department is focusing on
restructuring conventional teaching
methods and assessment strategies
which nourishes and encourages an
education model with a sole focus on
understanding fundamentals and
learning new skills/competencies that
would enable each individual to cope
with the rapidly changing demands.
