Dear Senior Portfolio Committee,

I am writing to receive approval for my senior portfolio. At the time of acceptance, this portfolio
will allow me to graduate from Buckingham Charter Magnet High School, in hopes of pursuing a
career as a transcontinental art teacher.

I offer extreme versatility in the world of writing, art, and language. I show creativity within the
realms of these categories. This is seen within my winning piece for the Reporters Campus
Star, pieces shown yearly in Buckinghams personal art show, as well as projects that have
accumulated over the year. Aside from academic prowess, I have been active within LGBT
support groups since 2014. In this process, I have stayed in constant contact with counselors and
programs aiding me with preparation for adulthood. Within Buckingham, I found a safe place.
With my communication skills, as well as confidence, the staff and student body have supported
and protected me. My academic and social experience here is the most effective path I could
have taken. The willingness to learn and accept is beyond anything I expected coming in. In all
realms, I have shown persistence in regards to improvement. I take every measure I can in
assuring that a piece is the best it can be.

I will pursue a role in the Washington State University student body. My father, as well as
several other family members, graduated from this university. It is my dream to follow in their
footsteps and experience campus life as they had. In the year following graduation, I will move
to Pullman, Washington to establish residency and get to know not only the environment, but my
fellow alumni. This will be one gap year between studies. Once beginning college, I will pursue
majors in Spanish, Fine Arts, and Education. This will be a four-year minimum experience. I aim
to also gain as much work and social experience as possible, with the implementation of
becoming a substitute and/or student teacher.
