Based on research conducted by the OECD, it is crucial that Europe adds 50

million people to its workforce by 2060 to avoid stagnation from occurring.
Granting asylum to refugees means that Europe will receive an injection of
young workers to help sustain its growth.

In the short term, the refugee surge will increase the fiscal spending for the
basic needs of asylum seekers, which will in turn result in a modest increase
of 0.1% in GDP growth by 2017. After the recovery process, asylum seekers
start to seek for jobs, thus increasing the labor supply and employment in host
country. Because the effects of labor supply start to be realized later on in the
process, the medium term and long term effects may be significantly greater
but depend on the speed and success of the labor integration. Assuming a
successful labor integration, the IMF projects that by 2020, GDP of EU as a
whole will could increase 0.25% and can even reach a 1.1% increase in the
main host countries.

Not protecting refugees and not advancing their rights means not giving them
a chance to live, and not giving a shot of Europes economy to prosper.

PREACHER
Just like other human beings, refugees have a right for their basic needs to be
fulfilled, to feel secure and to not live in fear.

Although the rights of refugees are clearly stated in 1951 Refugee

Convention, in many cases their rights are not fulfilled. Refugees are
sometimes seen as problems rather than normal individuals that have rights.
In many cases, refugees rights are compromised even rejected, because
states think that these refugees will pose a security risk. This way of thinking
is ironic. Why you may ask? The underlying reason of seeking asylum is to
escape extremism and hostility, not to promote it. Spreading terror is
probably the last thing on the minds of refugees. All they really need is a new
start in life, to gain a job, earn a living and live without fear lurking in the back
of their mind

How would you feel if your basic rights are not fulfilled?
