Goals/Questions:
American Revolution
British soldiers and American patriots started the war at Lexington and Concord,
Massachusetts.
The British government attempted to pass some laws, enforce several taxes, and
increase more control over the colonies. The colonies objected to these laws and
taxes. They wanted England to have no control over them.
The Continental Army, the rebels, was recognized by their bluecoats while the
British forces were known as the redcoats during the American Revolution.
The first shots fired in the American Revolutionary War occurred on April, 1775 in
Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts.

Robert Livingston and Thomas Jefferson.

Adams to revisions. The draft was then presented to the Congress on July 1
and they even do more revised.
However, fighting really ended in September 3, 1783 with the signing of the Treaty
of Peace at Paris or treaty of Paris.

Today, I didn't have much time in class. We all were separately research on the
background of each categories we chose for our topic in order for all of us to
understand the same thing and at the same point. So I did a little bit of some
researching on John Locke. Learning his background helped me to understand the

relationship between him and the American revolution. Also, it helped me to
understand the different between Locke's idea and Hobbes's idea. They are totally
different but somehow in the same way. I decided that I will do a research on Thomas
Hobbes tomorrow.

Social
Since the revolution, the most significant consequence seems to be about the freedom
of American people. As America had long been a colony of England, American
people was suffering from many unfair conditions set by England. Therefore, the
leaders in America tried to declare the freedom to American citizens. Until now,
American people mostly feel the importance of the freedom, and they will fight for it
in any way to keep maintain the democracy system in America because the revolution
made American citizens love their nations more than anything.
Political
As American people are serious about the rights, freedom, and liberty, so after
the revolution, several systems that govern the country are changed. For example,
there can be a larger number of people who can participate in American Politics.
Moreover, the elite that used to manage everything about citizens must come from the
election of the majority, and they need support of the citizens. In addition, common
people can join the politics in order to discuss, comment, or help rule the country in
the more right and fair way.

The research was much harder than I thought. I took a lot of time to find those
article that related to what I look for. I was very struggle to find the information that I
almost gave up. I could not finish the research in class so I continue it after school as
a home work. The research I was looking for were the impact of the American
revolution in the modern world in political, social, economic and education, but I just
finished on researching both impact on social and political so I will continue the
impact on education and economic next class.

Goals/Questions:
Notes:
Economic
Due to the war that occurs during the revolution, England and America spent a
lot to create army, warship, and weapon. After the war, America had to pay its debt in
the considerable amount. Moreover, trading goods between England which used to be
the main partner of America had to end up causing huge amount of economic
damages. Also, America faced with inflations from printing money in the nations, and
has to solve with the foreign debt problems as well.
Educational
During the revolution wars, lots of boy can never continue their study so their
study went so slow, and most of them were left unfinished education. However, after
the war ended, the education in America was improved so much by a huge fund of the
elite. They provided land to construct schools for children to learn. In addition, in
another perspective, American elite normally sent their children to study in Europe,
especially in England, because they believed that the education system is better than
in America. But once America and England had an issue, they cannot choose to study
there.

Today, I'm done with the research on the topic question as I planned to finish
the research on both impact on education and economic last class. This time I be able
to finish up the research in class. So me and my group mates were talking about all of
the information we've got so far. We helped each other to revise the information and
cut out some part that is unnecessary. We were very worried that we won't be able to
finish up the product before the due date because the product that we decided to do
was so detailed and require a lot of Art skills. We agreed to finish up the research as
soon as possible so we can spend more time on the product itself.

Goals/Questions:
Notes:
Thomas Hobbes
Thomas Hobbes has a great influence on those political ideas during the
American Revolution. His ideas help the federalists to consider adopting the
Constitution because he strongly believes that all people should have an equal
rights which no one should have more power than the others. His notions also
lead to the idea of a desire in freedom. Thomas Hobbes together with John
Locke create a theory called Social Contract but the description of the theory
by both of them are definitely different.
Page 7
John Locke
John Locke is a famous philosopher who helps create the theory Social
Contract with Thomas Hobbes. However, the idea of Thomas Hobbes and
John Locke are opposite. John Locke support the state of nature, and strongly
believes that humans and nature are related which humans should live well,
securely, safely, and they have to have their own rights and freedom to do
anything they want. So humans should create an ideal government to govern
the country and citizens in the right way.

Reflection
This is the last topic that I going to research because my group already have
enough information for our product. And the last topic is to research the connection
between Thomas Hobbes, John Locke Lockeanism, colonization, Hobbesianism and
American Revolution. I didn't do it in class because there were only few minutes left
so I did this after school. It took me more than three hours to find the connection of
Thomas Hobbes and John Locke. The reason is I could not concentrate well and to be
honest I really lazy to read the whole article though I did it still. I decided to finish
the research by the next class or it will be too late. I planned to concentrate more and
be more active so that this project will be finish earlier.

Goals/Questions:
Lockeanism
Lockeanism is the idea, notion, and thought provided according to John Locke.
This idea is an important philosophical system of John Locke, a famous
philosopher, which directly oppose the natural feeling or innate ideas, and
intensively focus on the knowledge of humans. John Locke believes that
humans knowledge comes from his or her life experiences which occur
internally within humans mind and also the senses in humans body.
Hobbesianism
As Lockeanism is created by John Locke, Hobbesianism comes from the idea
of Thomas Hobbes. Hobbesianism is a philosophical system which reflects the
political notion and idea of Thomas Hobbes who strongly believes in human
rights and freedom. This philosophical system is trying to describe that an
absolute sovereignty of government is the only way that is able to generate
peace and cope with greedy humans thought effectively. Normally, Thomas
Hobbes believes that all humans are selfish and brutal, so it seems fair and
suitable that the nation will be governed by an absolute sovereignty of
government.

Last learning record I decided to finish the whole research on the connection
between Thomas Hobbes, John Locke Lockeanism, colonization, Hobbesianism and
American Revolution but I could not finish it. The only thing left is colonization and I
will done with the research part. As I stated last time that I will concentrate more but
still, there were many things to do with the research part. The information was very
hard to find and very complicated to understand. I needed hep from my brother to be
able to understand the whole article. Also, there are many homework and projects that
Page 9
need to be turned in this week so I have less time to do a research but I will for sure
finish it by next class.

Colonization
Colonization history of America can be called in term of early modern period. It
began with the explorations of the early European explorers. Mostly, the famous
European explorers came from England, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and France. The
colonization of America was possibly made by the voyages of the early explorers
during the sixteenth century. The work of the colonization of America was left
almost entirely to Spain. In the political way, it is the deep root of modern science
and political thought of those political philosopher such as Thomas Hobbes and
John Locke. The idea of Colonization helps American society to motivate itself to
compete with Europe and to survive in the world

Finally, I finished all of the researching part. I still took a lot of time to finish
the research but after all, it's done quite detail. I kind of satisfied but somehow I felt
like I took too much time for the researching part. But the reason of doing a lot of
research is that I want to make sure that the information I've got is accurate so me and
my friend were research on the same topic for comparison the information. And the

learning record will be due soon so I need to hurry finish it and put it in the e-

In this class, our groups were finding some inspiration for our products. We
searched for pictures on the internet to find some unique ideas. We struggled at first
but finally, everyone in my group agree to choose a photo book as our final product.
We decided to find all informations we needed for this project, then we will put in the
book with many pictures and there will be some pop-up objects like what we used to
read from the fable when we were a kid.
