This procedure contains instructions to remove and replace the BW printer, color printer,
VCR and DVR for the ACUSON X300, ACUSON X300 Premium edition, and SONOVISTA
X300 systems. The instructions included in this section share the warning and caution as
follows:
WARNING The system contains hazardous voltages that can range from
90 VAC to 264 VAC and cause serious injury or death.
Only authorized service personnel are permitted to
remove protective covers and access the energized
components of this system.

1. Power off the system and set the MAINS switch to off; leave the power cord connected
to the wall outlet.
2. Remove the air filter, see (US11-104.841.01 / Removing the Left Cover).
3. Remove the thumb screw with the slotted screwdriver or coin.
8. Remove the four PWH screws located on the bottom of the BW printer and remove the
bracket.
The P93DW and UP-D897 are digital BW printers for 2.0 system and over. The images
below are of P93DW, but the procedure is the same for UP-D897.
1. Power off the system and set the MAINS switch to OFF. Leave the power cord con-
nected to the wall outlet.
2. Remove the air filter. See (US11-104.841.01 / Removing the Left Cover)
3. Remove the thumb screw using a slotted screwdriver or edge of a coin.
8. Remove the four PWH screws located on the bottom of the BW printer and remove the
bracket.

Perform the instructions used for removing the printer in reverse sequence.
How to install the printer driver. (Using Plug and Play function) 0
1. Press Presets key on the keyboard to display the Preset main screen.
2. Select Printer on the left side of the screen to display the Printer screen. Click Install.
A pop-up window will be displayed.
3. Plug in the USB printer, then click OK. The Add Printer Wizard will be displayed.
5. Select the option Local printer attached to this computer, and check the Automat-
ically detect and install my Plug and Play printer box. Click Next.
6. Windows will be searching for the new Plug and Play printers to install. When it has
detected the new printer, the Found New Hardware Wizard will be displayed.
1. Press Presets key on the keyboard to display the Preset main screen.
2. Select Customize Keys on the left side of the screen to display the Customize Keys
screen.
5. Select the USB BW Printer radio button in the Printer box for Thumbnails.
7. Select the USB BW Printer name from the drop down list. Press Save to store the new
settings and exit the system presets.
Use the following procedure to remove, replace and configure the color printer.

1. Power off the system and set the MAINS switch to off; leave the power cord connected
to the wall outlet.
2. Disconnect the cables from the rear side of the color printer.
4. Move the color printer toward the left, and remove it from the system.

5. Remove the six PWH screws located on the bottom of the color printer and remove the
bracket.

CP30DW and UP-D23MD are digital color printers. The images that are used for the steps
below are of CP93DW, but the procedure is the same for UP-D23MD.
1. Power off the system and set the MAINS switch to off. Leave the power cord con-
nected to the wall outlet.
2. Disconnect the cables from the rear side of the color printer.
3. Remove the two thumb screws with a slotted screwdriver or the edge of a coin.
5. Remove the four PWH screws located on the bottom of the color printer and remove the
bracket.

1. Attach the printer bracket to the bottom of the printer, and fasten the six FH screws.
2. Route the cables through the cable duct, and secure them with cable clamps.

4. Fasten the two thumb screws, see (Fig. 21 / p. 26).
1. Attach the printer bracket to the bottom of the printer, and fasten the four FH screws.
3. Place the printer on the bottom bracket and move the printer forward.

4. Fasten the two thumb screws, see (Fig. 25 / p. 29).
5. Connect the cables to the color printer.
1. Connect the color printer Remote Control Unit at the front of the color printer.
2. Power on the ultrasound system and wait for the system to complete the boot
sequence.
3. Press POWER on the printer front panel.
4. Press the MENU button (Item A) on the Remote Control Unit to display it on the LCD
Character screen of the color printer.
11. Press the RIGHT arrow button or the LEFT arrow button (item G) to select ON.
12. Press the SET button from the Remote Control Unit twice to store settings and exit from
Service Mode.
13. Press the MENU button on the Remote Control Unit to display the Main menu.
14. Press the RIGHT arrow button or the LEFT arrow button to select RGB.
15. Press the SET button from the Remote Control Unit to store the settings.
16. To set the orientation to landscape:
- Press the UP arrow button until you can see: M; LAYOUT [>]
17. To set layout mode, press the RIGHT arrow button.
18. To change the mode to MODE AUTO:
- Press the RIGHT or LEFT arrow button to Mode auto ML; Mode auto
19. Press the SET button (item E) twice to save the settings.
20. Press PRESETs on the keyboard to display the Preset main screen.
21. Select Peripheral from the left side of the screen to display the Preset Peripheral
screen.
22. Select PAL for the 900E color printer.
- Select NTSC for the 900UM.
23. Select Color Printer from the External RS232C Port #1 or Port#2 according to the
RS232C cables connected to COM1 or COM2.
How to install the printer driver (Using Plug and Play function) 0
1. Press Presets key on the keyboard to display the Preset main screen.
2. Select Printer on the left side of the screen to display the Printer screen and then select
the Install button. A pop-up window will be displayed.
3. Plug in USB printer then click OK. The Add Printer Wizard will be displayed.
5. Select the Local printer attached to this computer and check the Automatically
detect and install my Plug and Play printer box. Click the Next.
6. Windows will be searching for new Plug and Play printers to install. After searching the
printer, the Found New Hardware Wizard will be displayed.
1. Press Presets key on the keyboard to display the Preset main screen.
2. Select Customize Keys on the left side of the screen to display the customize keys
screen.
3. Select Color Print for Print/Store 1 key or Print/Store 2 key.
5. Select the USB Color Printer button in the Printer box for Thumbnails.
7. Select the USB Color Printer name from the drop down list. Press Save to store the
new settings and exit the system presets.

1. Power off the system and set the MAINS switch to off; leave the power cord connected
to the wall outlet.
2. Disconnect the cables from the VCR.

4. Move the VCR to the left and remove it from the system.

5. Remove the four PWH screws located on the bottom of the VCR and remove the
bracket.

1. Attach the VCR bracket to the bottom of the VCR, and tighten the four PWH screws.

2. Route the color printer S-VHS and power cables through the cable duct, and secure
them with cable clamps.

4. Fasten the two thumb screws, see (Fig. 49 / p. 51).
Configuration 4.3
3. From the Device Type drop down list, select Mitsubishi MD 3000.

4. Click SAVE to store the new settings and exit the system presets.

2. Disconnect the cables.

4. Move the DVR outward and remove it from the system.

5. Remove the four PWH screws located on the bottom of the DVR and remove the
bracket.

1. Attach the DVR bracket to the back side of the DVR and fasten the four PWH screws.

2. Route the cables through the cable duct and secure them with cable clamps.

3. Place the DVR on the bottom bracket and move it towards the system.

4. Fasten the two thumb screws, see (Fig. 59 / p. 62).
Configuration 5.3
CAUTION Do not turn the power off using the MAIN POWER switch
when in OPERATE Mode (LED indicator is green).
The DVD Recorder can be damaged.
Press the OPERATE button until the LED indicator
turns orange, then switch the MAIN POWER switch to
OFF.
3. Verify that each sub menu item value displays correctly. The following tables list the
correct settings. Settings in brackets ([ ]) are the Siemens default settings.

4. Select [G40+] from the Model Select which is found under the System menu.
5. If a menu item does not match, you can set from the Menu Screen on the system or Set
from the LED display on the DVR.
Set from the Menu screen on the system:
- Use the trackball on the CP to select the required screen / sub menu.
- Press the SET button on the CP to set the required value. Verify that the setting value
has been changed.
- Repeat steps for each parameter setting that needs changing.
- To return to the normal screen display, select EXIT from the sub menu.
Set from the LED display on the DVR:
- Use the Up/Down arrow buttons to select the required screen/sub menu.
- Press the SET button.
- Use the Up/Down arrow buttons to select the required value from the list and then
press the SET button. Verify that the setting value has been changed.
- Repeat steps for each parameter setting that needs changing.
- To return to the normal screen display, press the SETUP button.
6. Press PRESETS on the keyboard. The Preset screen displays.
7. Select Peripheral from the left side of the screen. The Preset Peripheral screen dis-
plays.
- Select External RS232C Port #1 or Port #2 depending on whether the RS232C
cables are conected to COM1 or COM2.
- Select VCR / DVR from the External RS232C Port #1or Port #2 depending on
whether the RS232C cables are conected to COM1 or COM2.
8. Select from the Device Type drop down list: JVC BD-X201

9. Click SAVE to store the new settings and exit the system presets.
