To prepare for a good job, we must be highly education acording to me. Most
people who are going to do professional work must have additional formal
education beyond the high school level.
The amount of time needed for with their education varies acording to me the
profesion for with they are preparing themselves. They must go to colleges and
universities to became an engineer, a architect, a lawyer a professor, a science.
I opinion an interesting job it tobe helpful to ourselves, our families, our country
and the society.
We will be able to choose a career that suits us best and to lead a happy and useful

As we know, living in a big city is supplied move facilities than anywhere esle.
However, there are advantages and disadvantages of living in a big city.
First, I think living in a big city dwellers are provided a lot of society services,
such as health care, education, good job and they have much chance to contac or
work with foreigners, residents can easily travel fast, thanks to good infrastructure.
In addtion that, social services help life be easy and comfortable.
On the other hand, people living in a big city have to suffer from many
disadvantages : smoke rising from factories and all kinds of vehicle on the streets
makes environment polluted and influence people's health. The noise all day and

Last summer, I had a good holiday. I never forget that meaningful holiday. When I
came back my home from my holiday. First of all, I went to visit all my uncles and
aunts then I and some my friends went to visit all my old teachers. We talked about

If I have to decide which mean of transport I like most, itll be a car. Nowadays it
is really necessary for me and my family.
- Firstly, it is safer to drive a car than to ride a motorbike because in a car there are
air bags, seatbelts, car alarm that prevent us from being injured if you have an
accident. Driving a car at night on a lonely road will safer than riding a motorbike.
- Secondly, you never have to think about the weather (such a rain, sun, storm, and
dark at night) when you drive. A car has air-conditioner which helps you to avoid
getting wet, dust so it help to keep you healthy.
In the third place, a car is comfortable and fast. You can pretty much travel
wherever you want whenever you want within your local area, without having to
worry about the departure times and delays of the public transport system.
- Furthermore, you will feel comfortable and relaxed with the CD and DVD
machines on the car. You can listen music and you have pleasure of driving. When
you are tired, you can stop the journey and rest.
- Finally, if you have just the one car between you and your family, it can be
possible to share the vehicle between all of the family members thus providing
everyone with a mode of transport at all times.

Among the most useful inventins in the last century; I find the computer the most
important because of these reasons:

- Second, living in the countryside is cheaper than in the city because people there

because they live near each other. People live together in a small village so they

Many people find it difficult and unpleassant to live in the city because of these

heavy, the city roads are in bad conditions and the population is really big. There

Then, I come back home for a nap. In the afternoon, I often go swimming with my
neighbor if the weather is hot. In winter I go jogging in the central park instead. I
usually have dinner with my family during weekend, so we can talk with each
other and share our stories. After dinner, I sometime listen to music or surf the net
to chat with friends or check emails. I usually do not go to bed late because I will
have lots of work on Monday.
In short, living in the city has many disadvantages so people have to struggle a lot

People may have different hobbis such as listening to music, watching T.V,
dancing. playing games or collecting things. My hobby is to read books.
I enjoy reading many types of books, but my favorite is detective. I like reading
stories about Sherlock Holmes of author Conald Doyle. I often read books in the
evening after I finish preparing things for the next days work.
When I have free time, I often go to bookstores to look for new books. Once a
week, I go to the city library to read there. I sometimers read books on line if I
canot get hard copies of the books I want.
Books help me relax a lot after days of hard work. Thanks to books, I can broaden
my knowledge and learn new things.

I have beeb to many places in Vietnam, but the most intersting place that I always
remember is Da Nang, the beautiful coastal city in Vietnam. Its wonderful to me
because of these reasons.
First, the scenery in Da Nang is ideal for us to go sunbathing. We can swim in the
blue and clear sea water or do sunbathing on the soft sand beach under the yellow
and warm sunshine. The air is so fresh and pure.
Second, the local sea food are fresh, delicious but not expensive. For example,
tourists can enjoy different kinds of seafood such as crab, prawn, lobster,
seashell Also, the people there are friendly, sociable and polite.
Third, there are many interesting activities to do beside playing football, tennis on
the beach, building sandcastles on the beach or watching the sunrise. For example,
we can sail on a boad trip to the Cu Lao Cham and watch the mountain scenery on
the way. Also, we may visit BaNa Hill.
For these reasons, Da Nang has alwaus been one of my favourite tourist attactions.

Nowadays, it is very important to learn a foreign language because of these
reasons:
First, learing a foreign language, English for example, helps us learn and get
imformation about new things in the world. There are a lot of books written in
English, French, Chinesse
Second, it help us feel confident when we travel abroad. We can talk very easily
with people in other countries and learn a lot from them. We can use the language
to work and do business without an interpreter.
Finally, though a foreign language we learn we can learn more about the people of
that country, we know a lot about their culture and society and costoms and
traditions. We can become friends of many people so our life is more interesting.
In short, when we know a foreign language we can open a new to our world.
Because of the benefits of learning foreign languages, one should know at least one

If you want to have good health, you should follow these pieces of advice:
First, you should eat healthy food: lots of fruits, vegetable, fish and drink enough
water everydat to stay healthy. The Japanese eat a lot of fish so thay live very long.
You should eat less meat and fat food because thay may cause heart diseases and
increase the cholesterol level in your blood. Fruits and vegetables no only bring
you lots of vitamins and minerals but also help you have a better immune system.
Second, you should exercise everyday by choosing a suitable sport such as
jogging, tennis, swimming, yoga They not only make you strong but help you
relax as well. So, it helps you keep fit and stay healthy. If you dont have much
time, you just need to do moring exercises regularly.
Finally, you need to have regular health check up. If you have some problems
with your health, you should go to the doctor immediately before it gets more
serious. You should visit the doctor regularly in order to find out any diseases you
may have, so that you have a better chance to get rid of it.

Among many programs and channels available on TV these days such as the
current news programs, sport programs, entertaining programs, educational
programs and movie programs, etc., I like the program the World of Animals
most.
This program is usually shown on VTV2 everyday at 8.30 in the evening. It often
lasts about 45 minutes. In this program, stories of the life of many animals in the
world are told in a very lively way. For example, people can watch films about
monkeys, snakes, tigers, insects, birds, sea turtles, sharks etc. and even the
penguins and the polar bears in the far North. While watching these films, I find
the everyday life activities and habits of these animals very interesting and full
mysteries. In addition, I also learn that it is very important to protect these animals
and their living environments because they are part of our valuable natural world.
Watching this program makes me very well informed and relaxed after a day of
work.

These days, people are practicing many types of sport such as swimming, running,
cycling, aerobics, tennis, table tennis, badminton, golf and football, etc. My
favorite sport is jogging. Jogging is a simple sport to practice because you dont
need any special or expensive equipment like other sports. In fact you just need a
good pair of trainers for your self . The most suitable place for jogging is a park or
somewhere around a lake near your house. You can also jog on a field or in the
forest if you are living in the countryside. For me, I jog for about an hour in the
afternoon everyday after work. I usually go jogging alone, but if possible you can
ask my family members, friends or neighbors to go with me. While we jog, we
often talk and share with each other about everyday life stories, so we feel that we
can reduce our stress. After going jogging each day, I feel that I am more relaxed
and fit again after a long day of work.

I have had many friends so far, but Thanh Nga is one of my close friends. Nga is
about 30 years old and is now working a researcher at an institute
in Hanoi. We met each other when we were in the secondary school. During those
days, we went to school together everyday, studied in the same class and shared
with each other all the joys and sorrow, so we have become close friends since
then.
My friend Nga is not very tall, but pretty with long black hair and a nice smile. She
is a very sincere, modest and helpful person. She likes painting and painted many
pictures. Also, I can still remember that Nga was very good at literature and
foreign languages.
We often meet each other when we have time. When we are very busy, we often
talk to each other on the phone or we chat on the Internet. Whenever we meet, we
often go to see other friends, go shopping or sit in a quite place to have coffee. We
talk about our life and share with each other our good news or problems and see if
we can help each other. Nga is really a good friend of mine, a friend for life.

I live in a house in Hanoi The house is in a small and quiet street in
district of Hanoi/It takes about half an hout to go to the city center. The house
was built 5 years ago. It isnt a big house and has two floors.
In my house there are 4 main rooms: a living room, a dining rooms, two bedrooms.
Besides, we have a kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet.
We have a little but pretty garden; my family often spend our free time there to
grow plant and vegetables. Next to the garden there is a small yard where my
children often play after school.
In my house, I like the living room is my favorite one. This room was painted light
green, so we feel very pleasant. In this room, there is a tea table, a sofa and a
television. On the wall there is a couple of oil paintings. After dinner, our family
often spend time together talking to each other or watching a favorite TV program.
We often receive our guests in this room. I love my house. Everyday when I come
back home from work, I have a warm feeling of being together with my whole
family.

I live in a house in Hanoi The house is in a small and quiet street in
district of Hanoi/It takes about half an hout to go to the city center. The house
was built 5 years ago. It isnt a big house and has two floors.
In my house there are 4 main rooms: a living room, a dining rooms, two bedrooms.
Besides, we have a kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet.
We have a little but pretty garden; my family often spend our free time there to
grow plant and vegetables. Next to the garden there is a small yard where my
children often play after school.
In my house, I like the living room is my favorite one. This room was painted light
green, so we feel very pleasant. In this room, there is a tea table, a sofa and a
television. On the wall there is a couple of oil paintings. After dinner, our family

Every day, there are at least two or three traffic jams at some junctions in our city

However the internet also has its disadvantages. Some people take advantage of the
internet to deceive others or to issue untrue or malicious information for their own
bad purpose. It is also a source of depraved films and pictures, which may damage
our younger generation.
To avoid negative side effects, the usage of the internet should be careful
controlled by the authorities.

At present Im a civil servant but I love to become a doctor because some reasons:

going on picnic, traveling whenever I like, while in the wet season, rains day after
day prevent us from doing many things. Secondly, the dry season is always

In the mean time, bad phenomena of weather usually happen in the wet season,

learn a lot of things all over the world. Moreover, computers are also wonderful
means of entertainment. With media soft-wares, we can enjoy all kinds of films,

it?
My favorite means of transportation is the bicycle because of its conveniences.
First, bicycling helps you save money. To buy a car or a motorbike, you must pay
plenty of money, but you spend much less money to buy a bicycle. Also, while you
must pay for gasoline to use vehicles having engines, a bicycle requires no money
for gasoline at all. On the other hand, bicycling is good for your health. You sit still
as riding a motorbike, but with a bicycle, you surely have chances to do body
exercises regularly, keeping you healthier and healthier. Last but not least, bicycles
contribute to protect environment. Smokes from engines pollute the air day after
day; bicycling produces no pollution, making our atmosphere fresh and clean. The

TOPIC 49: Do you have any problems in learning English? How do you
overcome them?
When I learn English, I meet many difficulties in speaking and listening. As for
speaking skill, I can not speak English well. My tongue is stiff. There are so many
English sounds that I cant pronounce English correctly. Besides, I have no English
language environment. These obstacles prevent me from speaking English well. As
for listening skill, I cant listen to English well, either. Owing to my bad English
pronunciation, I cant understand much when the others speak English to me.
Furthermore, linking words is another problem for me because I am not familiar
with it. My bad ability of speaking and listening to English makes me find it very
terrible when I encounter this subject.
However, I have got some ways to overcome difficulties in speaking and listening
to English. As for speaking, I will spend much more time to practise with my
friends and even with myself. I will drill my pronunciations and ask for my English
teachers advice. As for listening, I will increase my time for listening to English
as well as learn experience from other people. I am optimistic that, my speaking
and listening skills will be improved soon.

There are many ways to keep our health. First, we should eat nutritious food
moderately such as meat, eggs, and vegetables. Second, we should drink nutritious

cholesterol in our bodies and make the organs in our bodies work well. In addition,

TOPIC 51: Describe the room that you like best in your house. Why do you
like it?
In my house, I like the living-room best because that is the place actively
influencing my family. First, the living-room is where my family get together
every evening to enjoy the cozy family atmosphere. At that moment, we often
watch TV, my parents give us advice, and we always chat with one another very
merrily. Also, the living-room is where we welcome visitors and guests. In my
house, it is the ideal place to receive everybody and they always feel happy and
comfortable to be in there. Moreover, the living-room is the best place to relax. It
is the place that is best equipped, so we always feel pleasant and peaceful there
when we have any mental problems. To sum up, the living room is the place that
always brings us positive things in our life.
TOPIC 52: Tell an experience that you never forget.
I never forget the moment that I received the news of my passing the university
entrance examination. When I saw my name on the list of passers, I felt so happy
that I was going to burst into tears. My parents were also very glad. They gave me
compliments, and showed me how they were pleased about my examination result.
My relatives and my friends offered me congratulations. At that time, it seemed
that I had been the apple in everybodys eyes. I felt very proud of my self and
everybody felt proud of me, too. That is the sweetest memory that I have
experienced in my life so far.
TOPIC 53:Which places in Vietnam do you think are the most interesting for
visitors from other countries
In my view, two most interesting places that visitors should come in our country
are Ha Long Bay and Phu Tu Island. Ha Long Bay is a beautiful landscape in
Northern Vietnam. That is where there are thousands of strange-shaped islands and
limestone grottoes of all sizes covering a large sea zone in the Gulf of Tonkin. The
sea there is very calm while the sky above is often clear and bright, making the
whole panorama of Ha Long Bay strangely attractive and full of poetry. Similarly,
Phu Tu Island is really a beautiful scenery of Southern Vietnam. It locates in Hon
Chong area of Kien Giang Province. There, you will see a wonder of nature: two
high masses of stone, a big one and a small one, growing from a natural pedestal
on the sea surface like a father and a son watching over the sea day and night. Phu
Tu Island is the emblem of Kien Giang Province. However, the Island of Phu has
been collapsed recently due to a sudden weather incident and the authorities of
Kien Giang Province are planning to restore it as it used to be. Subjectively
speaking, the two sites that I have told you are the best to visit in this country.
TOPIC 54: How do you spend your weekends?
At weekends, I often spend time for my favorite activities. On Saturday evening, I
often go watching films in a caf alone or with some of my friends. If I dont
watch films, I play cards with my roommates and chat about all things that we can
imagine and go to bed very late. On Sunday morning, I also get up late to relax
since my busy study from Monday through Friday always makes me tired. Besides,
at weekends, I often buy delicious food to enjoy and to nourish my body. On
Sunday afternoon, I do nothing but relax and listen to music or watch TV. Every
once a month, I return to my homeland to visit my parents, my brothers and sisters,
my relatives and to ask my parents for money as well. As these routines happen
repeatedly, I am always happy and pleased with weekends I have enjoyed so far.
TOPIC 55: Talk about your daily routine. What are you activities in a
normal day?
My days are always busy and the same. My day begins very early in the morning. I
usually get up a 4.30 am. After having got up, I clear my bed, clean my face, brush
my teeth and do morning exercises. At about 5.30, I wash my dirty clothes and
take a bath. I often have breakfast at 6.30. After having had breakfast, I prepare my
books and notebooks, and go to school. I study at school from 7.00 am to 11.00
am. At noon, I get home at 11.00 and prepare for lunch. I usually finish my lunch
at 11.50 and then I rest and take a nap. In the afternoon, I often learn in the library
from 1.30 pm till 4.30 pm. After that I go to market to buy food for dinner. I
usually finish cooking for dinner at about 5.30 and have dinner until 6.00 pm. In
the evening, from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm, I often take a rest, read newspapers, and
listen to music. From 7.00 pm to 9.30 pm, I am self-taught in the school library. I
usually get to my living-place at about 9.45. After that, I go to bed. I often sleep
until 4.30 am of the next morning when a new day of mine begins. Although my
daily routine is busy, I am very pleased with it. Thats all.
TOPIC 56: What do you like and dislike?
I like helping my friends because when I do something good for the others, I
receive new exhilaration, making me feel more interested and happier. First, each
help that I have given to a friend brings me a lovely memory. The friend receiving
my help often offers me a special attention in our friendship. Second, helping my
friends makes my life meaningful. The more I do good things for everybody, the
more I feel proud of my existence in this life. Moreover, helping friends also
means helping yourself. Everybody sees your good heart and thus it is sure that
they will not forsake you when you fall in difficulties. It is the immediate benefits
that I have told you make me fond of helping my friends.
I hate telling a lie because it brings many dangers. Firstly, telling a lie make
everybody not respect us. We know that telling a lie is not good. When we do so, it
means that we do not respect ourselves and thus other people also do not respect
us. Secondly, telling a lie negatively affects our jobs. When everybody doesnt
trust us, it is really difficult for us to deal with partners in our business. Thirdly,
telling a lie unintentionally hurts our kin people. They are surely very shameful
when other people know that they are kin to liars like us. It is the bad effects in
such a chain that I do not like telling a lie at all.
TOPIC 57: Talk about your last holiday. When? Where? What? And how?
My most recent holiday is the trip to Hon Chong two months ago. That trip was at
weekends. On that Saturday morning, my friends and I departed very early by
motorbike. We rode non-stop from Long Xuyen to Rach Gia city where we
stopped for 30 minutes to relax. We spent approximately one hour to go around
Rach Gia city. At about 11.00 am, we began to head to Hon Chong. We arrived at
Hon Chong at about 3.30. On that afternoon, we rent a room in a hotel in Hon
Chong to stay overnight. From 4.30 pm to 5.30 on that same day, we went taking a
sea bath. After that, we went back to our hotel to take a bath with fresh water and
have dinner. In the evening, we ate seafood in a small restaurant by the sea and
enjoyed the romantic nightfall scenery for 2 hours. We went to bed at 10.30 pm in
that night. When the dawn of the next day came, we visited Hang Pagoda, Tu
Island (which used to be named Phu Tu Island but the Phu Island has collapsed
recently due to a natural incident). At 9.30 on Sunday morning, we left Hon Chong
for home. We got back to Long Xuyen at 4.00 pm via Vam Ray Ferry, and Tri
Tons roads.
TOPIC 58: What are your hobbies?
I like traveling very much because it not only relaxes my mind, widens my
knowledge, but also brings me many new friends. First, I always feel happy when
traveling. Enjoying beautiful scenery everywhere, though natural or man-made, is
the most effective pill to heal my mental diseases. Besides, I can learn many
interesting things from traveling. The more we travel, the more we know about the
world around us, which considerably contributes to our understandings. In
addition, we can have interesting relationships when we travel to somewhere.
Sudden friendships coming with us in our trips brings us sweet memories and
warm feelings everywhere, making us not feel lonely or strange anywhere we
come and visit. Briefly speaking, traveling is important and essential part of my
life.
TOPIC 59: Introduce yourself and your background.
My family is an extended family, consisting of my parents, my brothers, my sisters
and me. My father is 65 years old. He used to be a teacher of mathematics in Long
Xuyen High School. At present, he has retired. My mother is two years younger
than my father. She is a housewife. My eldest brother is 39 years old. He is a
teacher in Hoa Binh Secondary School. He is married and has a little daughter. His
wife teaches in the same school as he. My elder sister is 37 years old. She is also a
teacher. She teaches in Hung Vuong Secondary School. She is married and has got
two boys. Her husband teaches in her same school, too. My youngest sister is 28
years old. She is an accountant. She is still single. As for me, I am 32 years old. I
am a teacher of English in An Giang University. I am married but I havent got any
children. My wife is a teacher of Huong Duong Kindergarten. Although there are
so many members living under the same roof, we feel very comfortable and very
happy.
TOPIC 60: What do you need in order to get a good job?

To get a good job, we must meet all working criteria that the employers require.
Technically, we must have enough ability to do the job effectively. We should
have working experience and know how to tackle all situations generating during
the process of working. Communicatively, we should have good communicative
skills. We should know what our employers need and know how to please them.
Also, we should be popular and friendly to our colleagues. Sentimentally, we
should show the employers our love for the job. We should make them understand
that we apply for the job because we love it and really want to do it. It is this love
that enables us work effectively and attach with them for a long time. In short, to
get a good job, we must have good professional knowledge, good communicative
skills, and the love for it.
TOPIC 61: How is computer useful for your work or your study?
Computer currently helps me much in my study. First of all, it helps me format my
lessons effectively. I often type my lessons on the computer and format them to
make them attractive to eyes so that I may learn them by heart quickly and review
them conveniently. Next, computer helps me keep my materials safely for future
use. Today, beside the hard drive, I often bring my USBs with me and use them to
save all what I want at any time and place. Moreover, I often update my materials
on the screen. This enables me to create clear and tidy versions of materials and
save up much time for other activities. On the other hand, computer is the most
helpful friend helping me learn information and knowledge on the internet. Thanks
to computer, I often access the internet and learn many things. Computer has made
my understanding better day by day and become indispensable for my study.
TOPIC 62: Why do many people want to study abroad? What do we have to
prepare to study abroad?
Studying abroad has many advantages. First, you are better trained because the
education in developed countries is better than that of our country. Second, we can
widen our understanding about another culture. Living abroad is a wonderful
opportunity for us to learn about the customs there. Moreover, studying abroad
improves our professional prestige, keeping us easy to find a well-paid job and to
gain prestige in our working place. However, to study abroad smoothly, we must
carefully prepare some necessary things in advance. English is the first thing for us
to master. Without it, you cant understand anything and your study surely
becomes a nightmare. Next is cultural knowledge which enables you to adapt
yourself to foreign communities and avoid cultural shocks. In addition, you should
prepare psychology against homesickness because you can not return to your
homeland right away when you want. In summary, studying abroad successfully
requires you to know about its positive points and how to deal with difficulties
abroad.
TOPIC 63: What is your plan for the future?
I plan to become an accountant because it is an interesting career for several
reasons. First, I am trained to do this job at the university. I take many subjects
relating to my future job. The examinations I have passed show that I'll have
enough ability to do the job well. Second, it can train me to become a very careful
person in my life. I won't be allowed to make any mistakes because every mistake
can lead to the losing of a big sum of money. Third, with this job, I hope I can help
the poor or farmers to borrow money from banks to invest in their rice fields or do
small business. Fourth, with this job, I can work indoors. I needn't face the sunlight
or dew like my parents working in the field.
Especially, I can earn enough for myself and support my family, I

As a student, I dont have much free time beside those I love, so my summer
vacation is the duration during which I often busy myself with many things at
home all day. In the day time, I often do sundry things for my grandmother and
help my parents to do housework. In the evening, I go out with some of my old
friends. We often chat with each other in a cafe. Usually, when I am free from
doing housework, I go and visit close relatives in my neighborhood and ask them
about their life and business. In the late evening, I watch films on TV or read
novels or books to widen my understanding. I often go to bed very late. In my
mind, I always want my short summer vacations to be not only comfortable for me
but also useful for my beloved people.

My neighborhood has given me many joys and sorrows, too. I like my
neighborhood because of some reasons as follows. That is a place of peace with
good social security. There is almost no burglary, and crimes. Everyone pays
attention to one another and ready to help each other. Space is quiet. There is no
noise. Environment pollution is inconsiderable. However, my neighborhood is not
a perfect living place. Sometimes, I feel my privacy interfered because some
neighbors pay exorbitant attention to me. Some neighbors live in self-contained
houses, making contacts with them in emergency cases difficult. Moreover,
chances for creating income are not many because there are no factories in my
neighborhood. In summary, although I dont like my neighborhood in some
respects, I still wish to live there because of my friendly neighbors and some good
living conditions that I have enjoyed so far.

Why?
I like living in an extended family because this family pattern has many noble
values. First, extended families bring children close relationship from both their
parents and their grandparents. Children enjoy full love and care from the elderly
members in their family. Second, children can inherit family heritage of their
ancestors. Familial property and keepsakes can be kept and passed from generation
to generation, making ties between familial members become firmer. Moreover, in
an extended family, its tradition, rituals, and customs can be taught carefully to the
latter generation, making children realize familial tradition and know how to
behave well with everybody right from early lifetime. In summary, the positive
values of an extended family, which are real and undeniable, make me like it very
much.
TOPIC 67: Describe your house.
My house is small, but it has enough space for my things. It is in Cho Moi district,
about 45 kilometers from Long Xuyen City. There are four rooms in my house: a
living room, two bedrooms, and a kitchen. The living room is not very big. There
is a table in the middle with four chairs, a television on the left back corner, and a
display cabinet. All of the curtains are pink. There is a vase of flowers on the table.
In the bedrooms there are mats, pillows, mosquito nets and blankets. We have one
alarm clock in each bedroom. The kitchen seems narrow with a lot of kitchenware,
a table, six chairs, and a fridge. The house is surrounded by a garden with a lot of
flowers in spring. Our gate is green. I love my house very much because it is the
place I was born and grew up.

In my opinion, people should retire at the age of sixty because of physical and
mental problems and longevity. Physically, at the age of sixty, our health comes
down gradually. We no longer have much strength. Bone structures get weak. We
easily get sick or break our bones. Such a physical status is not ideal for working
any more. Mentally, physical come-down makes the brain weak and hurt easily.
Our senses are not good as before. Elderly people are usually absentminded with
bad eyesight and low flexibility. For longevity, the age of sixty is the last duration
of life, people should withdraw from business, transfer their precious experience to
their children to enjoy their free time, keep health in order to lengthen their
longevity with their children. In summary, people should retire at the age of sixty
to keep health and good mind and live long with their children.
TOPIC 69: Talk about the causes and effects of one kind of the environmental
pollution.
Today, air, noise, and water are polluted everywhere for many causes, but water
pollution is, in my opinion, the most serious. The immediate cause is human
garbage-littering. Many inhabitants of poor consciousness of hygiene throw all
kinds of garbage everywhere, especially into rivers. Most of properly-untreated
industrial waste disposals are also poured into rivers. In agricultural production,
water in fields containing all kinds of chemicals from insecticides and fertilizers
finally flow into rivers, too. The result is that water resources are seriously
polluted. For human beings, the use of polluted water without being carefully
filtered or boiled causes various diseases. For aquatic animals, such as fish,
shrimps, crabs, frogs, etc..., they cant lay eggs or grow naturally as formerly;
some species even become extinct. For aquatic plants, they can die or become
contaminated with harmful substances and become dangers for creatures that eat
them. The above-mentioned are just some causes and effects of water pollution that
we can easily see everywhere today.
TOPIC 70: SPRING IN VIT NAM
Vietnam is in tropical climate and has 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn and
Winter. Autumn may be loved by many people because the weather is nice: cool
and not strong sunshine. But Spring is the most meaningful and special, because it
is not only beautiful, but also waiting by all of Vietnamese people. It is season of
reunion, season of the coming back to hometown of all daughters and sons even
when they are no longer young.
Spring normally start from Jan or Feb of the calendar year, and last for 3 months.
The weather is often a bit cold with small rain. Thats why in Spring all the tree
sprout with the new leaves and many kind of flowers bloom.
In Vietnam, when Spring comes, also the Tet holiday. It is the biggest festival in
Vietnam, with at least four public holidays (will becomes five from 2013) but
normally, the holiday often last for at least 1 week. It start when the Lunar year
start. It is the first day of Lunar new year. Everybody stop working, come back to
their hometown, and enjoy the time with their family. The whole holiday is only
for enjoying, no working. It is the time for family, friends, and neighborhood.
Everybody wear the most beautiful clothes, visit each other and say the best
wishes. They also give each other the lucky money put in the red pocket. Spring in
Vietnam really is the season of gather and reunion.

I'm really interested in Keangnam Hanoi Landmark Tower. Because it's not only
the tallest building in Hanoi but also all over Vietnam . It is a supertall skyscraper
located in Pham Hung street . It takes approximately 20 minutes by car from the
city center. the complex consists of one 72-story office tower with the height of
350 m and two 48-storey residence towers . The complex features a 5-star hotel,
offices, entertainment areas, retail spaces, clinics and convention centers....

It seems everyone loves Facebook. Everywhere you go, you can see people logged
in, updating their status. Whether they are at home, work or in the passenger seat
of a vehicle on their way to school, people of all ages are signing in to the most
popular social network, Facebook. One reason, Facebook is so popular is that there
is a huge amount of Facebook members. Sharing pictures, videos, and interests are
some of the features many people enjoy on Facebook. Being able to connect with
friends and family anytime, from anywhere is another. Making connections with
friends from the past is something else that Facebook makes possible. Facebook
has tons of applications and games available on the site also. Playing games with
Facebook friends is a great way to spend leisure time. People that have a lot of
time, for that sort of thing, really get into it. It is, as if, they are in their own little
virtual world. Playing a game alone, against the computer is something no one has
to do any more.

Class : there were 52 member in my high shool class. 30 boys and 22 girls. 52
unique individuals made up our interesting class. . They were all very friendly,
open - minded and treated each other kindly ! My close friend is Huong, She is
very beautiful, sweet like a candy and very intelligent . She was always on top in
every exams . She was really good at Math , english and others but literature. i
absolutely admire her !The most respected person in our class was our monitor,
Truong. he is helpful, friendly and responsible. Without him, our class would be in

most. This program is usually shown on DISCOVERY CHANNEL every day at 9
oclock in the evening on CHANNEL 40 if you have payment television povided
by VTV Cab. Its also available on satellite digital televison like K+. It often lasts
about 45 minutes. In this program, stories of the life of many animals in the world
are told in a very lively way. For example, people can watch films about monkeys,
snakes, tigers, insects, birds, sea turtles, sharks,the world under water and even the
penguins and the polar bears in the far North & Sound Poles..etc. Its really
interesting and fascinating. I absolutely admire the filmmakers, cameramen and
their co-workers about what they did to bring us lively , dangerous and spectacular
scenes of wildlife. Sometimes, I have to utter : Oh My God , How coud they
film that ? Its unbelieveble when they filmed a hungry big white shark chasing
prey or a King cobra snake the world's longest venomous snake opening his
mount to bit and spray venom to cameraman. Thats trully dangerous situation. I
think Vietnamese filmmakers cant ever do the same thing as they do. While
watching these films, I find the everyday life activities and habits of these animals
very interesting and full mysteries. In addition, I also learn that it is very important
to protect these animals and their living environments because they are part of our
valuable natural world. Watching this program makes me very well informed and
relaxed after a day of work. I dont spend much time watching tv every day . I just
want to watch Discovery Channel and News to get information about life,
economic, politicsetc. Another time I spend surfing web, reading books or going
out with my friends. Its much better than spend a lot of time watching Tv.

Im very happy when I received your letter. Im writing this letter to tell you about
my daily life. It seems my life is always very full of activities and obligations so I
never have much time for myself. During the week Im very busy. On weekdays, I
usually have to get up at half past six even though I would really prefer to sleep
much later. After I get up I perform my morning routine of washing my face,
brushing my teeth....I usually have breakfast at quarter to seven in the morning.
After getting dressed, I drive to my office and my workday starts at eight o'clock
with plenty of work to deal with. Sometimes, it causes my stress but I love my job
as a civil engineer. I have lunch at 12 oclock, after that I take a nap in a hour to
refresh my mind. I continue working until 5pm. I get home at 6 oclock and
playing football is my favourite sport after work. It helps me healthy and keep fit. I
have dinner with my parent at 8 oclock . I like watching tv or reading book after
dinner. If I go out to meet my friends or have dinneretc, I will come home by 11
p.m because my parent dont allow me to come home late. Checking mail or
comments on my facebook is the last thing I do before going to bed. I love my life

club! Thats great. Im writing this letter to tell you about my favourite kind of film
I like watching.
Im very interested in Comedy films. As you know, There are many forms of
expression inside of everybody; however the most common form is laughter. The
sound of laughter can be heard all around the worlds every second, it helps us
relieve stress and makes us feel better about ourselves. Comedy films play such an
important role in helping us laugh. There are many forms of films out there today.
In spite of the recent incline in action and horror films today, comedy films has
always been my number one choice because it gives people an opportunity to look
at humor in life, it usually has a pointless, useless moral that we can relate to, and
it allows you to look at things in a new light and possibly expand your horizon to
become a more optimistic person. All comedies always have one essential
ingredient to make it a great comedy, humor. All comedies give people an
opportunity to look at humor in life and laugh at it. Comedies usually show a
hilarious scene for people to enjoy and laugh at. Many scenes which has a outburst
of crazy and ridiculous moments will not usually happen in our daily life, but its
fun to enjoy. I often watch comedies when I get upset, have streess because,
laughing help me relax v bring balance back to me. My favourite actors and
actress are Xuan Hinh, Hoai Linh Cam Van, Van Dung etc. I cant help
laughing when I watch their commedies or hilarious sitcoms . Its really fun and
very helpful to relieve stress. Thats the reason why I love waching comedy films.

Topic 25: You went to a party last weekend, didnt you? Did you have a good
time there? Tell me about that party?
Dear john.
Im very happy when I received your letter. Im writing this letter to tell you about
the party I went last week. That was my best friend birthday party.
Huong is my close friend. She turned 25 recently and her parents held a birthday
party for her. I was one of those invited. The party began at about three in the
afternoon. There were about twenty guests gathered in her house. We were all
dressed in our best clothes. Everyone, especially Huong was very happy. We gave
our presents to her and she happily opened them. It must really be exciting to
receive all those presents. After that her mother served us soft drinks and delicious
titbits. We then played some games like "Musical Chairs" and "Treasure Hunt".
The winners were given prizes. At about four-thirty her father brought out the
birthday cake. It was beautifully decorated with pink and white icream. 25 colorful
candles sat in the middle of the cake. We all sang "Happy Birthday" to Huong after
which she blew out the candles and cut the cake. Everyone clapped out hands
eagerly. We helped ourselves to slices of the delicious cake. Then we continued
our games.
Finally at about six in the evening the party came to an end. We were all tired but
happy. I helped Huong and her parent clean up the mess we made. After that I
walked home with a very good feeling .

Im very glad when I received your letter. Im writing to you now to tell about my
new house in Hanoi city. My house is on a small and quiet street in Hai Ba Trung
district and the neighborhood is really nice. It takes about half an hour to go to the
city center and 40 minutes to drive to my office. There are some shopping centers,
supermarkets near my house thats the reasons why we bought this house. It isnt a
big house was built 5 years ago and painted in yellow. There is also a small garden
where I can grow vegetables and flowers. Next to the garden there is a small yard
where my children often play after school.There are 3 floors and four main rooms
in my house: a living room, a dining rooms, two bedrooms. Besides, we have a
kitchen, a bathroom and a toilet. I like the living room was painted in light green.
In this room, we have a tea table, a sofa, a television and there are a couple of oil
paintings on the wall. After dinner, our family often spend time together talking to
each other or watching our favourite TV program. I love my house. Every day,
when I come back home from work, I have a warm feeling of being together with
my whole family. Last week, I decided to buy a new shelf and a sofa at a furniture
shop. They were delivered to my house yesterday. I put the shelf next to the table
on the left. The bright color of the shelf goes well with the color of the wall behind
it. I put the sofa in the right corner of the bed to sit on when I want to watch TV or
read books . Although it is quite far from my house to office, I still like it because
its very quiet and comfortable.
I really like my new house !

Im very glad when I received your letter. Im writing to you to tell you about my
job.
I am now working as a senior engineer for a foreign company in Hanoi. My
company name is POSCO E&C. Its a very famous korean company operating in
construction field . I have had this job for more than 2 years.I have to work from
Monday to Saturday. I often drive to office at 7 oclock to start my daily work at 8
oclock until 5p.m. In my job, I am in charge of designing, estimating , setting up
schedule , supervision on the site sometimes . Besides, I also need to coordinate
my work with other departments in our company in order to run the companys
business smoothly. To do this job besides my university degree, I have to do some
training courses in construction project management, site supervison, designing
etcIn addition, the other skills required for this job are communication, time
management, teamwork and presentation skills, etcI really like my job because I
am able to apply the knowledge and skills of the field I studied in my work. In
addition, I have a flexible working time, so I can make full use of the time in the
office and have time for research. Also, I am lucky to work with a very active and
supportive staff. One thing I dont like about this job is that I often have to travel,
so I sometimes dont have time for my family. I am planning to further my study to
get a doctor degree.

I am so happy to hear from you. As you know, I have attended to an english class
lately. I am very interested in learning english because it is very useful for my job.
My teacher is Mrs YEN who is very considerate and enthusiastic. She is 40 years
old. She have a good knowledge of english and she shares her experience freely.
She knows how to make the lesson interesting and has a good method of teaching
english.
There are 30 student in my class with many different ages. Inspite of our age
distance, we still have ability to work harmoniously together. We uaually play
games about previous lessons , so we have many chances to talk with each other in
english , of course.
I love my teacher and all the students in my english class. Sadly, we will not study
together for long.

Im so glad to receive your letter.
My favourite sport is football- the most popular sport in the world, is well known
as King sport. In America, people call it Soccer, but I like to call it Football. I
idolise Barcelona football club and Messi is my favourite football player. Ive
never missed any matches of them althought its always live at midnight .I began
to play football when I was 6 years old. So far, I have been playing football with
my friends on the wide yard near my house in free time , after shool or after work
every day . It clearly that playing football make me fit, healthy, avoid some
desease. In addtion, like the other sports, football help me make new friends when
I take part in some football team. I meet many young and elderly people playing
football with me. They not only help me in every match but also share me
everything in daily life and so on.
Especially, football make me enjoy my life after stressful working hours.
Therefore, I like football the most due to several reasons above .

Ive just received your email in which you asked me to tell you about the
most important traditional festival in my country.There are a number of festivals in
VN but the most important one is certainly TET. It is the time when family
members come home from all parts of the country to have family reunion. It is
often a one week holiday. Before Tet, people often redecorate their houses by
repainting walls, buying beautiful flowers, bonsais, food, drinks, cakes, candies
During Tet, people visit their relatives, teachers, friends. People wish each other
good luck, good health and good success. Tet is time for each person come back
home, meet again friends, relatives and has some great parties after a busy year.
They also go to temples, pagodas to pray the best luck for their families. Children
are so happy because they are given new clothes and they receive lucky money in
red envelops from adults. What about the most important holiday in your country?
